A great choice for our family reunion
This house worked very well for our family reunion of 9 adults and one child (and, could have accommodated our additional 2+1 that had to cancel at the last minute). Five bedrooms on the first and second floor are very comfortable; the one in the alcove leading to the third-floor stairs lacks privacy, and was not the first choice for our members. Four more beds in the attic are tucked under the eaves, so best for kids...but are accessed by a very steep staircase. Communal spaces inside and out are great; in particular the outdoor patio area is spectacular, we spent LOTS of time out there. A short walk down the hill takes you into Manitou Springs for restaurants/shopping/wandering; head uphill and you find a trailhead with access to a vast trail system. My 85-year old dad appreciated the back entrance that avoided the front steps; though the hike uphill from downtown was not his favorite!
We had a great time with family. The house was very fitting to our needs and the yard was wonderful. There were 16 of us that stayed there---11 adults (ages 21-80) and 5 kids (ages 1 month to 14 yrs). It worked well with the large table for all to eat at in the greenhouse and play cards. The outside patio area was great with the beautiful weather. Definitely a memorable trip for all as we celebrated my dad's 80th birthday. Thank you so much!
Our family of 31 spent a week in Manitou Springs and 16 of us stayed in this house. This was a great place for a large family or group and a perfect location to all of the attractions.
Joanne was very accommodating and easy to work with. She always responded to my many questions before we arrived in a very timely manner.
While we were in Manitou, we celebrating our dad's 80th birthday. We had a great time and would highly recommend this property and can't wait for our next trip to Colorado.
Home away from home
Our family of 10 adults and 3 children ranging in age from 2 to 6 years old all had a wonderful stay at this house. Within a couple of days I found myself referring to the house as "home" whenever we were away doing various activities. We had an issue with internet connection and needing more supplies such as bathroom tissue which was handled promptly by the owners. This is a great place to stay for larger groups. We ended up having two extra rooms that weren't used. The third floor is a cute get away for the children but was slightly more difficult to access due to a steep set up stairs but we didn't have any major issues utilizing the stairs as needed. I would recommend that the owners add locks to all bathroom doors in the future to ensure privacy while using the restrooms as currently only about half have locks. The outside area had seating for our large group with plenty to spare. We enjoyed the outside fire place very much at night. I would definitely recommend this home for anyone's stay in the future. If we vacation in Manitou Springs in the future this would be my choice of location to stay. The feeling was quite homey without the commercial feel of staying at a hotel.
Great place to stay In Manitou
We had a fantastic time in Manitou Springs and this property was perfectly suited to the large group of people that we had. The location to all of the things to see and do in the Pikes Peak region was unbeatable! It is so close to many things that we were able to do more than one thing per day. The home itself had many great features with plenty of room and the back yard and patio were a great place to escape. In the six days we were able to see Garden of the Gods, Pikes Peak via the cog, Cave of the winds, Cliff Dwellings, Seven Falls, Royal Gorge, Cripple creek ( Must See!! Molly Kathleen Gold Mine ), North Pole and of course many trips into downtown Manitou. Yet we still had time for a little golf, fishing and hiking. LOVED IT!
An enjoyable relaxed stay in a fun little town
Our family arrived on a Tuesday and stayed through Saturday night. Our host was very nice and accommodating. The house is quite nice being a Victorian style. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment. The house is very spacious with plenty of room for our 13 people. We especially loved being close to downtown Manitou. It was a short walk to lot of shops and restaurants. My children who are all grown and my two grandchildren loved the back yard. It is very large with lots of room to throw baseballs and have various activities. We had a fire one night in the fire pit which was enjoyable . We have stayed places with pages of rules that are very stressful to keep ,making for constant concern about doing something that will cause you to lose your deposit. That was not the case here. There was a minimal list of rules. We really enjoyed the stay and would recommend this property to families .
Home is 2 blocks up from Manitou Avenue, so within walking distance of all shops, restaurants and local events.
