Sweet cottage with gorgeous views

  • 5 of 5

The location is fantastic on a very spacious piece of land with gorgeous views of the sea and a couple acres of woods and grassy areas to explore. We enjoyed listening to the barking sea lions and looking at the stars at night. The cottage is small but was perfect for us, with beautiful views from the bedroom and living room. The hot tub worked great, except for the weak jets, and also had great views. I can't imagine a better spot on the coast. We didn't want to leave and definitely want to visit again.

Perfect spot

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed here for a couple relaxing days to end our vacation. It was a perfect spot. Great views from all over. Very homey and comfortable. We couldn't have asked for anything more. We happened to catch site of a whale from the patio. The sea lions were relentless. The fishing boats coming in at night was an awesome bonus. Decent drives to several beaches, including the beach at Anchor Bay campground. Point Arena was also close and a great visit. The process of renting was good, no problems and quick responses. We would absolutely stay here again. Overall, everything we were looking for and more.

Our favorite coastal spot so far!

  • 5 of 5

My partner and I have now stayed a four rentals from VRBO along the North Coast and this is our absolute favorite so far. We were there in August, 2012 (late entry, it wouldn't let me go back that far) and I still remember the moment we pulled up and got out of the car: the view literally took our breath away. I believe one of us yelled "score!" The house was cute and well stocked. The hot tub worked great and was so nice right there on the cliff, great view from there. And the property itself was big enough to go for nice walks with spectacular views here and there. We highly recommend it and would definitely go back.

AWESOME PLACE

  • 5 of 5

We spent 3 nights at this wonderful property. Homey, comfortable and just what the doctor ordered for celebrating my wifes birthday. The view is stupendous, hot tub warm, grassy areas and a very inviting interior. Everything you need to chill if that is what you want to do.but close by restaurants are good as well- Bones(BBQ) has great food. The owners have a book/guide at the house of a lot of restaurants/things to do which is very helpful. The fireplace is great as well-loved the stock of firewood wood- thanks. We can't wait to go back.

Mr. & Mrs.

  • 5 of 5

Grandma had a lovely piece of land! We were happily socked in with sunshine and surf for our 20th wedding anniversary at this former artist's home. Inspiration could be drawn from the full moon nights in the hot tub, picnic table spreads down the private drive, or under a sheltering pine out on the cliff! We enjoyed access to Anchor Bay's private beach ($3 parking fee under the giant sequoias & dog leash included for furry friends) which is featured in Sunset magazine, a well stocked grocery store with surprisingly low prices for a remote area, and the plateau of green grass outside the front door. The television offered cable & movie listings, but there was no cell phone coverage (just a land line). We didn't venture the curvature north, but for those who want a bigger cities ammenities like movie theaters or shopping, it's a short drive. Only complaint was that the jets in the hot tub were weak, but temperature was perfect. If not for the rain the morning we were to depart, we were tempted to stay forever.

Nice little cottage in great location

  • 5 of 5

My family of four stayed at the property for one week at the end of June and loved every minute of it. The location of the cottage was ideal for what we were looking for. Plenty of privacy on a couple of acres of woods and grassy areas with unbeatable views of the Pacific. Deer in the yard every day and tons of birds all day long. We really enjoyed the hummingbirds each day as we ate our meals at the table in the front yard. Dozens of beautiful beaches within minutes either direction. Bowling Ball Beach and Schooner Gulch were our favorites and they were both within a 10 minute drive. Plenty of small restaraunts close by although we chose to grill out with the propane grill each evening. We also enjoyed the use of the hot tub each night. Owners were very easy to deal with in setting up our rental and answered all of my questions promptly. I would agree with everything that the previous renters comments had to say. I can't imagine a better spot on the northern California coast. We will definitely be looking to make a return visit sometime in the near future.
