About the property

Large 4 Bedroom/3 Bath Home Perfect For Large Family Vacations (Sleeps 10)

Buck Horn Lodge is located at 3800' above Maggie Valley with spectacular views of downtown Maggie Valley as well as near and distant mountains. We are located near the end of the road with no other homes in view where the cool breezes blow.

The home is furnished with everything you need for a relaxed vacation.

In the kitchen there's a range, refrigerator w/ice maker, microwave, blender, toaster, coffee pot w/filters, toaster oven, lots of pots and pans, dishes and silverware.

The large dining room table seats 8 and there's a table on the deck for outside meals. Also on the deck are 6 rocking chairs for reading, morning coffee, or afternoon relaxing. The night time view of the valley with the lights is spectacular.

The living room features a large fireplace (firewood is furnished), 2 leather recliners, 2 love seat recliners, two glider rockers, and a new HD TV w/bluray player. WIFI is provided.

This home is NOT motorcycle friendly due to the curves and some gravel. We bought the house below with motorcycles in mind. Please take a look at that listing.

***We have a new 3 bedroom/ 2 bath home also in Maggie Valley...

A new 14' x 22' Master Bedroom was just added with it's own private deck. You can enjoy your morning coffee in the King size bed and watch the birds, squirrels, and chipmunks play on the deck. There are hummingbird feeders with lots of hummingbirds flying back and forth feeding. In the evening you can retreat to the bedroom and enjoy the electric fireplace, watch the 47' HD TV, or enjoy the view of downtown Maggie Valley at night. The Master Bath features a large shower and spacious vanity. There's plenty of space for your clothes in the walk-in closet. There is an A/C for times when the cooling breezes are not cool enough (which doesn't happen very often).

Upstairs there are two large bedooms each with a Kingsize bed. Each room has a TV w/DVD/VCR player. These two bedrooms share a bath that is located between the bedrooms. Each bedroom has it's own A/C unit for the rare night when they are needed.

Downstairs there is a small bedroom with a queen size bed. This bedroom has it's own private bath with a tub/shower. Just outside the bedroom is a sitting room with a TV. This TV is not connected to the Satellite system and is designed as a children's area for playing games or watching VCR/DVD's. We provide some family suitable DVD's but suggest you bring your favorites.

Located in the garage is a gas grill and a charcoal grill(bring your own charcoal)for cooking out (no the jeep and 4 wheeler are not included with the house).

If you are looking for some exercize take a walk to the top of the mountain. It's about 1 1/2 miles and in the summer you can pick blackberries to eat or make a blackberry cobbler. When you get to the top the views are spectacular. Be sure and take some water.

Maggie Valley has lots of shops and restaurants. There's a park on Jonathan Creek where the kids can play in the cold creek.

Also nearby is Waynesville with more shopping and dining, Cataloochee Valley where you can view the elk in the evening and tour old homesteads, the Blue Ridge Parkway with its views, Harrah's Casino in Cherokee, Biltmore Estate in nearby Ashville, Great Smokey Mountains National Park, and lots of hiking trails and waterfalls.

Beautiful View!

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for privacy, this cabin is absolutely wonderful! The view is outstanding, but there is a price to pay traversing a very narrow, winding, (sometimes gravel) road with very few turnouts if you meet an oncoming car. The kitchen was very well equipped with all the utensils, pots, pans and appliances one could ask for, but you will need to bring trash bags and toilet paper if you are staying for more than a few days. The beds were very comfortable and sheets were very soft. Our family (six adults) had plenty of room and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We had a wonderful time.

  • 5 of 5

Great location !Well kept home with lots of room. We had a great time especially out on the porch in the morning. Would totally go back and stay here again. There were detailed instructions for everything you need to know. Really enjoyed the drive to the top of the mountain. Thank you again for allowing us to stay here.

This is a very quaint cabin with a great view. The cabin was well stocked and comfortable. The view is what really distinguishes this place from others.

Over and above expectations

  • 5 of 5

As advertised and I do recommend this rental. Getting snowed in on top of a mountain was not in our vacation plans this year but we did. Ended up having to stay an extra two nights. The owners Robert and Susan stepped up to the plate and assured us there would be no problem staying the extra time at no cost. What else can I say, WOW !!!. Only problems were the neighbors in the cabin just above us made sure we didn't run out of food. WHAT A PROBLEM TO HAVE, ribs, baked beans, cake. We will be going back and I going to ask the Lord if it is his will a little snow on the mountain please.

Wonderful Stay - Just as Advertised

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Buck Horn Lodge for 4 nights over Christmas. There were 8 of our family staying there with beds for every one. The house is beautiful and looks just like the photos that you see here. It was fully stocked with linens and kitchen items for the number of people we had. There is also a washer and dryer if you need to wash towels while you are there. The view of Maggie Valley is absolutely beautiful. The road up is a little steep but we had both AWD SUV's (Medium sized) and a 2WD car make it with no problem at all. We had 3 vehicles parked in the driveway. Turning around takes a little time but we had no problems with it. I would highly recommend this property, it is probably the nicest mountain property that we have stayed at so far.
