About Jim and Pam Rogers
Jim and Pam Rogers, The Old Campbell Farm's owners, are lifetime residents of Franklin. In fact, Jim's family has been farming in the Iotla Valley since 1879. They live nearby, less than a mile from the Old Campbell Farm, and they love to meet new folks and provide the perfect home-away-from-home for the enjoyment of their guests!
Jim and Pam Rogers purchased this Farmhouse in 2011
Why Jim and Pam Rogers chose Franklin
Jim personally knew Fannie Campbell Tallent, the most recent descendant of the Campbell Family to live at The Old Campbell Farm, so there always has been a sense of closeness to the 1884 farmstead. After the property left the Campbell family in the 1970's, and after a succession of owners, The Old Campbell Farm eventually fell into a sad state of disrepair. Jim and Pam were fortunate to purchase the property, adding the 4-acre tract to their farm where they specialize in growing Angus cattle and timber. The meadow at the Old Campbell Farm produces hay each year for their cattle herd. They especially love the large lawn, the beautiful hosta beds, listening to the burble of the creek from the rocking chairs on the screen porch, and watching for wildlife! But more importantly, they loved restoring and preserving The Old Campbell Farm, a truly wonderful historical treasure!!
What makes this Farmhouse unique
Whether you stay for a weekend, a week, or a month, The Old Campbell Farm can be home base to explore everything from Dollywood in nearby Pigeon Forge, Tennessee to the Biltmore House in Asheville, North Carolina. Go hiking in the Smokies, bicycle riding on marked trails and paved routes, motorcycle riding on challenging mountain roads, and strolling along the country lane that leads to the Farm. After dinner (or supper, as we say in the mountains) sit on the screened porch or take a walk in the meadow to catch the last light of day and perhaps a glimpse of a doe and her fawn.

Very comfortable & cozy
Would go back again in the drop of a hat 🎩👍.....our 3 days went by way too fast
We had a perfect 3 nights in this wonderful home - it has everything needed for a relaxing stay! It was immaculate, porch and grounds are super! Beds make you sleep like a baby! Mountain air was awesome! Close enough to the city for restaurants, entertainment, shopping. Jim and Pam, owners, did a magnificent job revamping this home, can only imagine the amount of time, love, sweat, and devotion they put into. We loved it and look forward to a return visit. We hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did!
The Campbell farm home was everything and more as described online. The home was very comfortable and inviting, especially the screened in front porch and rockers. Very quite and secluded area, however access to town was very convenient. The home was immaculately cleaned above and beyond expectation. Home owners greeted us upon arrival and gave us the history of the Campbell homestead. Wifi had excellent speed and my 18 year old twin grandsons gave it a thumbs up 👍
Perfect Vacation Location
From the rustic exterior to the updated interior there was nothing left that could make this farm any better! but wait the location is awesome as well. My wife and i loved the old campbell farmhouse. it is close to everything and the trees and animals "deer, squirrels, beaver" were in abundance. Pam and Jim were very nice and gave us an abundance of info on the farm and history of the town! I look forward to spending more time at the campbell farm with the whole family next year if its available!
Hidden gem in a mining town
We loved the location of this cabin. You don't need an SUV to get to it because it's on flat ground, unlike many other rentals in the area. We went to Mason's Mine which is just a short but pretty drive from the cabin. My mom found a 16 carat sapphire! Pam and Jim were so accommodating. We brought our teething toddler and she had a rough first night in terms of getting any sleep. The next day, I asked if we could get a fan in our bedroom, for some white noise which our toddler sleeps with at home, and they came over within 20 minutes with a fan in hand. Thanks to their amazing hospitality, we all slept peacefully our last night. One nice touch is the photo book in the cabin. It shows the renovation of the cabin and the history of who lived there and when. It put a story with the cabin and made it feel more personal and inviting. We plan to return, hopefully next year, if Pam and Jim will have us. I highly recommend this place especially if you are heading to Mason's Mine or just want a relaxing vacation in front of a fireplace.
We love the Old Campbell Farm and the setting in the middle of the North Carolina mountains. Jim and Pam are fantastic and make sure that you have everything you could possibly need. The farmhouse is located out of the hustle and bustle and you can be comfortable staying there with a book or many activities are within a short driving distance. This is one of our most favorite places to spend time away!
