Everything was good. Only one small issue, there was no trash can in the kitchen.

Beds were comfortable. Kitchen was relatively well stocked. WiFi and TV’s worked well. Owner was very responsive. Water cooler was provided in lieu of potable tap water. Some inside doors did not fully shut. Bunk bed ladder needs to be repaired, as it was not stable enough to use. We enjoyed playing pool, puzzles, and games from downstairs common area.Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed our stay, it was a great location and the property was nice being right on the river. However, a few key details were left out of the rental description. The property is a campground and the “cabin” is the 2nd story unit above the office. There were 2 other campers and tents on the property but nobody was using them so we had the place to ourselves which was nice. Some of the other issues were minor but need to be noted. The water was very rusty so we had to use bottled water for cooking and drinking (which was provided). The rust also caused the sinks, shower and toilet to be badly stained. The 2nd shower pictured is in a separate bathhouse. There was only 1 wall unit heater which heated the living area quite well but didn’t warm the bedrooms. The bathroom door does not completely shut so no privacy there. The listing also mentioned a stocked pond but there were no fish in it. To no fault of the owner, the neighbor has multiple roosters which start crowing very early. Overall, the property has great potential just needs a little more work. The unit is decorated nicely and is very comfortable. The downstairs is really nice with several couches, a large screen TV, a pool table and games.

About the host

For more than 25 years, he dreamed of owning this riverfront property and four years ago, that dream finally became reality. With unwavering perseverance, a deep conviction in his vision, and constant support from friends, family, and his loving wife Dana, he transformed this five-acre stretch of land into the peaceful retreat it is today.
As the owner and steward of this beautiful riverside escape, he takes pride in sharing the serenity of nature with others. What was once a personal dream has become a place where guests can unwind, reconnect, and experience the quiet magic of the river.

Why they chose this property

Owning this property for the past four years has been both a challenge and a privilege. Restoring it to the peaceful, inviting place it is today took perseverance, conviction, and a great deal of support from friends, family, and especially my loving wife, Dana.
I’ve known about this land for over 25 years. From the moment I first saw it, I dreamed of one day calling it my own. After more than two decades of holding onto that dream, here I am finally able to share this incredible place with others.
These five acres of riverfront beauty are more than just a property; they’re a sanctuary where water, nature, and serenity meet. It’s truly a joy to open the gates and invite guests to experience the peace and wonder that first drew me here so many years ago.
