So close but yet soooo far!!!!
When you stay with us you will feel like you are far away from everything. But in reality everything you could possibly want to do is just around the corner.
We are close to everything Asheville has to offer—Biltmore House, hiking, biking, shopping, tubing, running, the arts....the list is endless. Eclectic and funky West Asheville is minutes away offering a great collection of eateries, galleries and shops. Downtown Asheville is just minutes beyond that with a dazzling array of shops, restaurants, galleries and arts events, all infused with that unique Asheville laid back vibe. Just around the corner is the River Arts District where you can spend a day exploring one of the most active and accessible communities of working artists in North Carolina. If you get tired gallery hopping, you will find many great options for food and drink to rest a spell and rub shoulders with friendly locals who will be happy to tell you about the best local breweries.
Once you have worn yourself out with all there is to do in and around Asheville, you come back to a comfortable cozy cottage that is designed with relaxation in mind. Just renovated from top to bottom, our cottage includes a huge kitchen with new appliances, granite countertops, a washer/dryer nook and plenty of room for group dining. The very large living room is fronted by a spacious sunroom that is perfect for your morning coffee or curling up with a good book. The back deck is private with a grill and beautiful view of the woods. If you are lucky you will see some of the wildlife we have on the property including deer, turkey and the occasional fox.
The Master suite comes with a queen size bed and a glorious, dual shower bathroom for a spa-like experience. Bedrooms two and three share a large, fully refurbished bathroom with tile floors and granite vanity. Bedroom two has a double bed and bedroom three has two twin beds providing a great variety of sleeping arrangements. Other features include a 50' High Definition TV in the living room, TV's in each bedroom and a fire pit out from for late night s'mores or sipping wine under the stars.

About Michael Patton
This is our family. My mother and I still live close to this cottage and the others have moved off. We all grew up in Asheville. I am a Builder/Contractor and my mother sales Real Estate.
Why Michael Patton chose Lower Hominy
We grew up on the property where this house is located. The kids that moved away would bring their families back and there were so many of us we needed room to stay. This cottage was the 'overflow' house. As their families got older the stays were shorter. We decided to share our lovely location here on VRBO.
What makes this House unique
Location and privacy just scratch the surface as to why you should stay here. No other place can offer the feeling of privacy and escape when in all actuality you are minutes from everything. Downtown is 4.5 miles away. Fantastic West Asheville is 1 mile away. The Biltmore House is 6 miles away. Bent Creek for hiking, biking and swimming is also 6 miles. We have added all we could think of to make your stay comfortable and refreshing. We are on 9 acres most of which are wooded. The private back deck looks off into the woods and makes for a wonderful place to grill, eat, sip coffee, chat or pretty much anything.

I stayed here for a girls trip and it was awesome. We loved having the hot tub and the house had plenty of towels and extra blankets for all 8 of us. Host was awesome and very available!
Amazingly peaceful minutes from everything
Our group loved this cabin! It was perfect for a weekend away. You feel like your deep in the mountains despite the close neighbors, but you’re mere minutes from most of Asheville’s best breweries and downtown shopping. The living area, dining space and game table were great. This was the cleaniest rental I’ve experienced with ample cooking supplies for anything we needed. The towels and sheets all were of a higher grade. I’ll be recommending this for anyone looking for a place in Asheville! We hope to stay here again!
Great House and Host
We came to Asheville this past weekend as it was getting dumped with 13-16 inches of snow. Michael, the owner of the property, was awesome and always checked in on us to make sure we had everything and that the driveway and streets were treated. We will definitely try to stay at Michael's house the next time we are in Asheville and I highly recommend it to anyone going to Asheville. It is perfectly located and very close to the fun restaurants and bars/breweries of West Asheville.
Asheville Weekend Getaway
Awesome place, we had three couples come for a weekend visit and it was comfortable for all of us. We also had deer visit us everyday in the back yard. It was only a 10-15 minute drive to all the places that we visited and there was plenty of Uber’s and lyfts available and only took a couple of minutes to arrive. The host was extremely accommodating and responded very quickly to all our questions and requests.
Close to nature and downtown Asheville
This is a very comfortable and nicely equipped house in a serene and convenient setting in west Asheville: both bathrooms brand new and hotel quality: great kitchen with a oak table for communing around and a gas fireplace for chillin'. Very close to Biltmore and Biltmore Village and a super bonus: just a few minutes to the great restaurants and music venues on Haywood Ave. beautiful wooded land on two sides - we saw tons of deer. We had everything we needed to cook two big meals- new appliances and good cookware. A terrific weekend had by all.
Can you have tranquility and energize in the same sentence?
That is how I would describe our stay in Asheville and the West Asheville Cottage! We took full advantage of both the city and the cottage. By day we explored Asheville and the surrounding mountains and at night we enjoyed relaxing at the cottage with a beautiful meal on the deck nestled in the woods and listening to the tree frogs and crickets while soak in the hot tub. One night we had a bonfire and made s'mores. The Cottage provided a great escape from the hustle of the city. The bed was great, the dual head shower was awesome and the kitchen had everything we needed. Michael was welcoming and "on call" if we needed anything - but we didnt. Can't wait to come back for another weekend.
