About Rekha Patel

I decided to purchase the house in 2007 as a place to getaway from my busy urban life. I love Robin's Hood and the surrounding area as do my friends who come to visit. The most frequent comments from friends are about how much they love the house, views and the activities while we are up there. The golf course is adjacent to the house, an extra amenity for those who golf.

My most amazing experience at Robin's Hood was seeing a family of six river otters swimming at the beach, stop and play on the riverbank.

I hope that if you rent the house that you have a wonderful time.

Why Rekha Patel chose Russian River

Northwood, the area of Monte Rio the home is located in, is a really special area, there are no communities like it along the river. The house is in a rustic area but updated and modern with charming details.

What makes this house unique

Very quiet and peaceful. Great for kids also as they can hang out at the beach all day, play games on the deck. There are beaches nearby with tide pools or take a kayak ride from the private beach down the river. There is a picture on this site of the deer sighting that we had on one of our kayak rides and of the star fish we spotted at the beach.

The house is really cozy and has all of the amenities (chairs, kayaks, life vests, board games, etc)

We saw deer, a weasel, an owl and a ton of beautiful birds like the blue heron and stellar jay. In the river we caught several fish and saw a large SEAL that must have lost his way from the ocean! The house is very cozy. Loved all of the amenities and also how well stocked the kitchen was. It was so nice to relax by the river every day, explore in the kayaks, swim and to be able to take day trips to Jenner beach. Great restaurants nearby and close to Safeway. Really enjoyed our stay!

Owner's Response: Really appreciate your review. I saw a seal last year swim past the house and thought I was seeing things. They seem to know how to turn back to the ocean.

An amazing place with the feel of home. I can't wait to bring my family back!

  • 5 of 5

The property was well maintained and very clean. My family and I enjoyed the canoe and kayaks and we spent a great deal of our time paddling the river looking for wildlife. We succeeded in finding a family of River Otters and saw multiple deer, Ospreys and even a Bald Eagle! This was truly a memorable experience for all my children and adults too!

Perfect Time At The River

  • 4 of 5

Celebrated our son graduating from college with a long weekend getaway at Russian River. Location was great. Beautiful view of the river from the back side of the house and across the street was the golf course. Enjoyed sitting out on the deck, saw a deer, fox and enjoyed watching the birds from the deck, taking walks in the neighborhood, saw a fairy garden that a neighbor has in her front yard (adorable), going on the kayaks, preparing meals at the house was easy, getting our morning coffee at Bia Cafe (within walking distance from the house). Checked out Duncan Mills, Sebastopol, Guernville, Korbel and the deli. The weather was perfect. Thank you for sharing your home with our family.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. The fairy garden belongs to one of my dear friends up here and it will make her day that it is being appreciated.

Feels like Heaven!

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from 9 days at Robin's Hood and had a marvelous time. We chose it for it's location on the river, and will return again because it was so comfortable and pleasant. We've tried other houses in the area and this is the best. The kitchen is fully stocked with every cooking tool you could need and we loved having all the spices and condiments - it will make packing for next year so much easier. But our favorite amenities were the canoe and kayaks, we used them every day. Great to find a supply of folding chairs to take down to the river beach. The rooms are very comfortable and large, lots of pillows and blankets to choose from, very good quality sheets and towels. Everything was clean and windows and sliding doors were easy to open. Loved the gas fired fireplace in the living room, very nice to take the chill off in the evening and early morning. We were on the spacious deck for most meals, and in between - it was a great place to watch the stars at night. We spotted otters several times and got out the huge telescope to watch an osprey across the river. We went for walks most morning around the golf course, mostly ending up at the Bia Cafe for coffee and wonderful homemade sweet breads and a breakfast sandwich. Close to Guerneville and easy drive to Monte Rio and Duncan Mills (The Gold Coast bakery is terrific!!). We hated to leave the deck so had most meals at home, loved the gas grill. We did order takeout from the Juicy Pig, and ventured out to Taqueria La Tapatia on River Rd for some excellent Mexican food. Stop looking, this is the best place to stay on the river. Thank you so much for opening this home to visitors!

Perfect River House

  • 5 of 5

This is our second year renting Robin's Hood and loved it as much as last year. The deck offers beautiful views of the redwoods and river. The house has everything you could possibly want. The home is on the river complete with kayaks and the best part, it's across from the golf course, just walk right over.

I highly recommend Robin's Hood and will return again!

You MUST book this property

  • 5 of 5

The river house was high end & amenities above & beyond. The renter also went above & beyond to make our stay a pleasant experience . Only wish the beach front area was more cleared out so we could have had an extreme beach front time & easier to find when coming back to dock kayaks.
