This home was the perfect after Christmas getaway for our family of 7! The house layout was ideal for privacy, fun and family. The creek next to the house was so relaxing and the view from the hot tub was perfect! We would definitely stay again!

Thank you Hope. We are delighted that your family enjoyed the stay at our home. Safe travels home and we would love to see you again. Happy New Year.
This house was everything you need and more. The hosts have thought of everything - comfortable bedding, kitchen utensils/cookware, plenty of room for our family of 8. Highly recommend this property for couples or families. The entire property / inside and out - was exceptionally done and well maintained. Would love to return sometime soon.

Thank you for your wonderful review! We are so happy that you and your family were pleased and that you’d like to come again. We’d love to have you!!!
How wonderful to write a review and say that it was even better than expected! This home and the surroundings were beautiful. Whether you come for a month with extended family or a weekend with a couple of friends - it is the perfect place to relax and recharge. Plenty of room to spread out, well stocked kitchen and bathrooms, gorgeous outdoor space, large clean hot tub, huge fire pit, grill on porch. Beds and pillows were soft, high quality bedding. Couches were plush and oversized. Everything was super clean. The host is accessible and cooperative. Our teenage girls had a blast playing in the creek after a day of hiking while we watched from the upper porches. It is dog friendly but aside from the water bowl waiting in the kitchen for your furry friend, you’d never know pets were around. The driveway is tricky but well worth it!

We are so happy to know that you and your family enjoyed The Retreat. My grandchildren love the creek as well and of course the hot tub!! We would love to have you back again anytime.
House was beautiful- nicer than even the pictures showed. One thing we were very surprised about was that you needed to bag up your trash and drive it miles down the road to dispose of. We did reach out to the property manager who kindly told us to keep it in the garage and then they would take care of it as we did not have the room in our cars to take it out. Overall amazing and would recommend.

About the host

Andy and I live in Fairhope AL and enjoy golfing and the amazing people that call Fairhope home. We are retired, Andy a Marine pilot and retired Delta commercial pilot. I am retired from Merck pharma sales.
Why they chose this property
Highlands gives us the opportunity to enjoy mountains and cooler weather. It’s very warm in Fairhope and the cool air and lower humidity in Highlands are a refreshing change of pace. Being on the creek is amazing, nothing like the sound it makes and the water is crystal clear.
What makes this property unique
Lots of wonderful homes in Highlands but not too many directly on a rushing creek.
