About the property

3 Bedroom, 1 Bathroom, Sleeps 8

NEW FOR 2016! (Updated photos to come later)

- New Weber Spirit Grill

- New Retro Kitchen table and chairs

- Deck Dock on water (replaces wooden dock in photos) with wide area with chairs for sitting on over the water. (This is shared with one neighbor - however they do not rent and are only up occasionally.)

This is our family cottage that we completely renovated in 2008. We have decided to rent it during the times that we are not able to enjoy it. If you are looking for a place close to Traverse City that is on a quiet lake - this is your place! This is a part of a small resort that also has a few other cottages for rent.

This cozy cottage has 3 bedrooms and one bathroom. There is bedding for 11 people, however it is probably most comfortable for a family of 6. A nice open floor plan with a kitchen, dining area and living room. There is a very large deck that has three seating areas for dining as well as adirondack chairs for relaxing. There is also a fire pit area with a swing and chairs. We also have 4 single kayaks and a 2 person paddle boat that is yours to use free of charge. For those with kids, we also have a kid cabin that they will enjoy. (Adults may also enjoy the top deck of that as well for a beautiful view of the lake while drinking your morning coffee.) Please note that there is no internet or air conditioning. We do have satellite TV new as of 2015.

There are so many fun things to do in the Traverse City area.

Very near the cottage are several choices:

- Boones Long Lake Inn

- Moomers Ice Cream

- Interlochen

Traverse City is just a short driver away and offers downtown shopping, several restaurants and waterfront.

There are also many cute towns along the peninsula as well as wineries and casinos. You will not be disappointed in this area!

About Lisa King

Kevin has been spending his summers on Bass Lake at his best friend's family cottage since he was young. As a family we have vacationed in the Traverse City many times and have fell in love with the area.

Lisa King purchased this cottage in 2008

Why Lisa King chose Northwest

We had an opportunity to buy this small resort with a few other partners and we each renovated the cabins that we chose. It has been enjoyable to watch the place transform into our own little paradise. We love how close it is to Traverse City, yet so quiet and peaceful.

What makes this cottage unique

Our cottage is only 2-1/2 hours from our home, so it makes it easy to make a quick weekend getaway trip. We love all the unique things that Traverse City has to offer.

Just Wonderful

  • 5 of 5

Lisa's cottage was simply wonderful. Just pack your clothes and you are all set. The cottage was well appointed and comfortable. Everything was spic and span. There was eight of us at any given time and we had no problem. The deck and beach were great. Lisa even went the extra mile and supplied us with six kayaks, which my daughters and their husbands really enjoyed. No need to pack any sheets, blankets, towels or kitchen utensils, plates, glasses, etc. it was all there and in fantastic shape. I'm looking forward to staying there again. Thanks Lisa I had a wonderful time with my family.

Quaint little cabin. Me and my family had and awesome time here. Close to downtown Traverse City. 40 min drive to sleeping bear dunes. So much to do in the area and at the cabin if you just want to hang out. My family loved the kayaks they were a big hit!! Over all it was a great vacation!! Thanks to the Kings for making memories for our family!!!

Great beach and a cute home

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I had a great time playing on the wonderful sandy beach with our three year old daughter. The lake was great for taking the kayaks out and enjoying the wildlife and peaceful setting. We really enjoyed how private the property felt and had a great time making smores with our daughter every evening.

The cabin feels very tranquil and secluded, but is very close to Traverse City and other near by attractions.

We had a great time.

Clean, well stocked and great rental cottage...you wont be dissappointed!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second year in a row to rent this property. We loved it just as much the second time around. We have three teenage daughters and they love coming up here. The cottage is very clean and roomy for a smaller cottage. Lots of sleeping room and the huge deck doubles the living space of this nice cottage. They have very nice water toys and the kayaks were a big hit. The kitchen is stocked with pretty much every utensil you would need. The owners are very helpful and answered all of our questions very promptly prior to and even during our stay. This is a very quiet lake and feel like you have you own lake. Traverse City is just a few miles away as is Lake MI. It is hard to describe the quaintness of it all, but it is a great place for a vacation. Highly recommend it.

Fun, relaxing and a beautiful view!

  • 5 of 5

We had a such a fun, relaxing week! The cottage is in a perfect location, right on the water with gorgeous views from the windows and large deck. We enjoyed the kayaks, fishing, the fire pit and grilling on the deck. It is a cute cottage--clean and very well stocked and not far from restaurants, grocery, ice cream and Traverse City. We would definitely recommend this rental to friends!

Great location and great time!

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for a relaxing trip on a secluded lake this is your place. My wife and I stayed here with our 6 and 3 year old over Labor Day weekend. We had planned to do many things around Traverse City but the kids enjoyed the cottage so much that they didn't want to leave (even for ice cream). The fishing was excellent as we caught many pan fish right off the shore and lots of Pike and Bass out on the lake. The cottage is fairly small but has everything you would need for a short-term stay. The beach was excellent and the property is situated so that you are able to relax in the shade if you want but can also bask in the sun by going closer to the water. The owners were very responsive throughout the process and we would come again without hesitation.
