Very charming river front cottage

  • 5 of 5

My family and I enjoyed our stay at the river haus. It was a short drive to Seqouia National Park where we spent most of our days. We really enjoyed the evenings on the deck overlooking the river. Nancy is a very conscientious host. I would recommend to others.

Amazing Location, Super Hospitality!

  • 5 of 5

We've stayed at a lot of vacation rentals, but nothing like River Haus. With the river in your back yard, the first thing you notice as you go through the gate is the soothing sound of the water. When you enter River Haus, you can help but notice all of the personal touches that are unusual for a vacation rental. It's not just the expected appointments. It the great care that was taken to provide a "homey" experience. Then, when you add that Nancy is such a wonderful and attentive host, it just puts an amazing cap on the experience. We would not hesitate to return to River Haus and heartily recommend it to anyone!

Great location

  • 5 of 5

We chose this place to be close to Sequoia National Park and we drove up into three park each day - some days just into the lower part and some days right up to the top. Up the top to the giant sequioas was a long way but the lower area of the park was beautiful and worth visiting too. Great swimming holes in the rivers!

The house was all functional and comfortable. We appreciated the AC in the heat (100+ degrees) but glad that it was cool enough in the evenings just to throw everything open and enjoy the fresh air.

The house had a few quirks - the stove was fiddly and we had trouble turning it off each time we used it. There was also a persistent burnt smell in the living room - not sure what from but i think it was unrelated to the stove. Not spoilers but a bit of a nuisance.

We really appreciated the big deck, just thought it was a shame it didn't make the most of its riverfront location. We still used it though and ate most of our meals out there.

About Nancy

Nancy has lived in Three Rivers for over 40 years. She is a native Californian, was trained as an RN, and owned and operated the local candy and ice cream shop for almost 30 years with her husband. She loves to travel and has been to many places in the world, enjoying much of it on board of container ships. Since retiring & selling the business in 2005, there is not only more time to travel, but also to pursue other interests. Nancy has turned to the fiber arts. She weaves, hand spins, & dyes yarns & fibers. I enjoy music & have an extensive collection of performances in classical, jazz, and other types of music.

Meeting new people who also enjoy travelling is one of the motivations to have a vacation rental.

Nancy purchased this house in 1988

Why Nancy chose Three Rivers

My home is short distance from the River Haus. When this little gem on the water became available, we couldn't resist a golden opportunity to have such a unique home on the river.

It was a monthly rental for over 25 years and now I share the beauty of this vacation home with travelers from around the world.

What makes this house unique

This secluded retreat has a spectacular view of the river in complete privacy. Leaded glass at the front door, handcrafted cabinets and a carved interior wood door reflect the custom work done in the home. Redwood boards panel the walls. There are wooden floors throughout. It all comes together to give a cabin feel which says relax. It’s time to unwind.

Our location invites you to go out & explore the area...Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, Mineral King and the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Then return to a comfortable, private home and recount the adventures of your day.

Step into the Kaweah River Haus. Step in and forget your worries...and come back soon!
