Uwe & Nancy have lived in Three Rivers for 40 years. Uwe is originally from Germany & Nancy is a native Californian. Uwe was trained as a chef in Germany & Nancy is an RN...but they worked together for almost 30 years in the candy & ice cream business. They love to travel and have been to many places in the world, enjoying much of it on board of container ships. Since retiring & selling their business in 2005, they have not only more time to travel, but also to pursue other interests. Uwe loves his home orchard & little tractor. As a 'gentleman farmer' he converts many of his crops to jars of jams, toppings, yeasts cakes & chutneys. Nancy has turned to the fiber arts; she weaves, hand spins & dyes yarns & fibers. Both enjoy music & have an extensive collection of performances in classical, jazz, and other types of music.
Meeting new people who also enjoy travelling is one of the motivations to have a vacation rental.

Uwe or Nancy purchased this house in 1988
Our home is short distance from the River Haus. When this little gem on the water became available, we couldn't resist such a golden opportunity to have such a unique home on the river.
We have had it as a monthly rental for over 25 years and now want to share the beauty of this place with many more people...and we get to enjoy it ourselves!
This secluded retreat has a spectacular view of the river in complete privacy. Leaded glass at the front door, handcrafted cabinets and a carved interior wood door reflect the custom work done in the home. Redwood boards panel the walls. There are wooden floors throughout. It all comes together to give a cabin feel which says relax. It’s time to unwind.
Our location invites you to go out & explore the area...Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, Mineral King and the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Then return to a comfortable, private home and recount the adventures of your day.
Step into the Kaweah River Haus. Step in and forget your worries...and come back soon!
The house was wonderful and in a fantastic location for visiting Sequoia National Park. Nancy was so kind and welcoming. Plus the view of the river from the kitchen and the deck was truly amazing. Fireplace and BBQ were also fun perks.
Wow! What an amazing time we had! This place is full of charm and Nancy makes you feel like you are staying at a relatives home. The location is very close to the Sequoia National Park and with it being right on the river it made morning coffee and afternoon cocktails very enjoyable.
This house is in a great location! The house is very comfortable and the beds are amazing. Wake up and go to sleep to the sound of the river. Lulls you to sleep. Beautiful scenery and the kitchen has everything you need. We visited Sequoia National Park which is amazing and only a few miles to the entrance. Lots to do!
Sunsets are wonderful. This property is a must for your vacation. B. Dubar
This is a great property and Nancy was very accommodating and responsive. Hope to make it back!
We really enjoyed the landscaping and sitting on the deck by the river and mountains. One thing i might recommend bringing are gravity chairs; they allow you to sit all the way back so you can really check out the stars at night. You can get them at Amazon or Lowes and not too expensive. But the chairs here are just fine as well
We cooked here and the kitchen has just about everything you might need. I might recommend having another non stick pan or so if you plan to cook a lot. The grill outside is great, too. We utilize Hello Fresh, a meal kit delivery service which is super convenient to bring with you on trips. The food is all pre packaged for you so it makes it easy to pack, store, and best part no waste.
The bathroom has most of what you might need but I would still bring all your essentials like body lotion, soap, etc.
There is a fantastic swimming hole right by the house which my husband swam in. Unfortunately, one evening there were a few people there hanging out and one person actually threw a beer can into the river! Hopefully the neighboors can keep an eye out if they ever come back!!
The location of the house to the park is wonderful.
This little cabin by the river exceeded expectations, the deck overlooking the rushing river feels like an oasis of tranquility and Nancy is a wonderful host, and did her best to make us feel at home. She was out of our way but always available to make sure everything went smoothly. We definitely hope to come back to the same property.
We are located at the entrance to Sequoia National Park which includes the Mineral King Scenic area. Absolute must...seeing the Giant Sequoia Trees. They are the largest living things in the entire world. Moro Rock is a huge granite outcropping which has steps up & up...and a panoramic view of the entire Great Western Divide. Take a picnic to enjoy at Crescent Meadow which John Muir called the most beautiful meadow in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Hiking, rafting, cross country skiing, scenic drives, bird watching and spotting bears, coyotes, bobcats, fox, mountain lions and raccoon will add to your nature experience.
