I live and work in San Rafael, CA, but have always enjoyed Tahoe growing up and do so now with my family. I like to share my love of Tahoe by offering my 2nd home with others. I have invested in a complete remodel of this townhome to give it a fresh and clean, modern vibe. I hope you enjoy.
Jason Wells purchased this townhome in 2014
My mother originally owned this townhouse and we enjoyed using it throughout the years as a vacation home. I have a lot of memories from my childhood here, enjoying the open backyard and riding bikes with the other kids in the complex. It's a great place to meet other visitors and families and swap vacation ideas/stories. The hot tub, pool, playground, and tennis courts are hits with almost everyone.
With well maintained and completely flat bike paths to downtown Tahoe City, this is a great place in the summer. The pool and playground and walking distance to beach are a given, but biking/walking into town is also a great adventure. Tahoe City offers many restaurants, shops, a beachside park/playground, local upscale cinemas, golf course, Truckee River, Truckee Dam, miniature golf, marinas, ski resorts, etc. to enjoy. Our townhome complex comes with free snowplow service, so access is easy even in the winter. Located within 14 miles from Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows and NorthStar ski resorts. Winter or Summer, this location is perfect for activities, eating, sightseeing, skiing, rafting, outdoor sports, and of course enjoying beautiful Lake Tahoe.
We had a great vacation with our three small boys at this Lake Forest Glen condo. The complex is safe and the children were able to ride bikes and explore on their own. The condo is modern, clean and very comfortable. The pools and tennis courts were wonderful. The complex is near both a rocky beach and a good short trail through a forest to a sandy beach. It is a very short drive to everything in Tahoe City. I would highly recommend this condo.
We stayed here in late July, with four adults and a 7-month old baby. Jason's condo was perfect for our needs, though we didn't use the 4th bedroom at all. The common spaces (kitchen, living room, deck) were great. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the appliances and fixtures were bright and new. We loved being able to walk 10 minutes to a sandy beach by the lake, and to the Sugar Pine Cakery. This was a new place to us (we've been going to the Tahoe City area each summer for over 30 years). The were two reasons we didn't give a 5-star review: 1) the difficulty accessing the key from, and then returning it to, the lockbox on the front door, and the fact that there was only one key for all of us. Hopefully, this will be an easy fix. But...2) we couldn't use the pool with our 7-month old granddaughter, at all. There is a very prominent sign on both pools saying that anyone unable to control their bladders (and bowels) is excluded from the pool. We wish we had known this, as we were very much looking forward to swimming with her! And, isn't that what chlorine is for? Fortunately, she LOVED swimming in the lake. So if you have children in diapers, be aware. Otherwise, we had a great time in a very comfortable condo.
We had two families for a total of 9 people (4 adults and 5 kids ages 9-15) stay at this property. We had plenty of space for everyone to gather and spread out, when needed. The townhouse was comfortable, clean and nicely furnished and decorated with new appliances. The location was ideal. We were very close to the center of town, but off the beaten path, which was nice. The Skylandia Park (north entrance) was within a one minute walk from the townhouse and then it was about a 2 minute walk to the beach from the entrance of the park. We also enjoyed a quick walk to the Sugar Pine Cakery several mornings during our stay to get coffee and breakfast. Having the option of swimming at the pool in the complex was nice and was a great activity for the kids, when there was some down time in between activities. This is a great place to stay, if you are looking to visit the Lake Tahoe area. Jason, the owner, was easy to contact and quickly answered any of our questions. We would definitely stay here again.
This was probably the best Tahoe rental we've ever had! Very modern and clean and the four bedrooms are all actual bedrooms -- nobody got stuck with a loft!
* SUPER comfortable beds and bedding
* Good water pressure in the shower
* Great deck for outdoor dining
* Main living area on street level
* Very minimal Tahoe'y decor. Yeah, you'll think you're living in an Ikea palace, but I only saw ONE piece of bear art!
* You can get to the awesome bakery around the corner by ducking through the fence behind the dumpsters
The only negative was that the "quiet" pool was totallllllly disrespected by kids, teens and their parents so if the adult-only pool is a selling point for you, it's better than you'll get at other area complexes but you'll probably have to be that person yelling at other people's kids for doing cannonballs.
Townhouse was great! Very convenient to Tahoe City, Skylandia National Park, Skylandia beach (nice access to water), hike and bike trail to the city and Truckee River. The amenities in the condo were excellent. The on site facilities were great as well (two pools, tennis courts, well maintained site). We had three families staying (3 small children included) and there was plenty of room for everyone. Great coffee stop very close. Only thing lacking was access to rentals (bikes, kayak), we had to go into Tahoe City for that but that was not a big issue. If we go back next summer we will stay there again if the townhouse is available.
Tahoe City is home to a large number of restaurants, bars, shops, hip eateries to enjoy. It's also home to marinas, boat-in/boat-out visiting, several shopping centers, Truckee River Rafting, Truckee Dam, and near 3 of the biggest North Shore ski resorts (Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, and NorthStar).
