Customer Service Stinks, No Wifi and No Supplies
I wish I didn't even have to give 1 star after the way I was treated. The first night we arrived we began to make plans for the weeks ahead and immediately realized there was no wifi. And since it is also a low service area that poses a real problem for those that might want to make reservations and research the area. We drove 45 mins to a whale watch that was full b/c we couldn't make reservation ahead of time (also no phone in the cottage). First the office told us they never heard of the issue but when I contacted them via email I was told it was a known problem. And even though there seemed to be some lying going on on their end...I ended up being accused of lying. Evne though I was very nice and polite in my email I was told "At this point I think this goes beyond “making a couple reservations” and has more to do with Facebook, Snapchat, and entertainment for the kids" by the owner Justin...WHICH WAS COMPLETELY FALSE! And even if I did want to do those things I should be able since the place claimed to have wifi. We brought bikes, horseshoes, ring toss, boogie boards, tubes, board & card games, etc. We did not go on vacation to sit around using technology. We went to spend time together as a family and play at the beach. Then he offered for me to check out early! In an area fully booked during the summer! Our 7 year old son ended having to do an 8 mile bike ride on some very sketchy riding areas b/c we could get our route ahead of time and hence had to go to the Chamber of Commerce (who unfortunately gave us bad info and told us the ride would be suitable for a 7 year old. It was not! And we didn't get home til 1030pm. Our poor kid had to ride on the main road (in some places with no break down lane) and in the dark. He was scared and so were we. Unfortunately, there was nothing we could do other than rough it as when we found out it wasn't a good route for him it was already too late to go back. There are also claims of beautiful views...all we saw was a white wall with a garbage on the other side and shrubs so over grown we couldn't see anything but them. Look around! You will find paces closer to the beach with better views and customer service. Hopefully we can get our old place back this coming summer. It was cheaper, had a view of the ocean and was 100 ft to the beach...and also had all the things you need like sponges, hand soap, a decent amount of of pots, pans and dishes, etc (another area in which this place seriously lacked!).
Nice place in Wells
The place is beautiful. Nice view of the inlet and the ocean. Very clean. WiFi signal too weak at bottom of hill: no signal inside cottage.
Forth of July weekend
Cute little cottage that's close to the beach. What more could you ask for?! I only wish that the wifi signal was able to reach the cottage from the main office, so we could have music. But, there was a clock radio in one of the rooms. It all worked out just fine!
Resort is located within walking distance to several award winning restaurants and is on the local trolley line. For the more adventurous the hotel is a one mile walk from the beach
