First visiting The Great Smoky Mountains around 1956, as an eight year old I could have never envisioned actually living close by. Now over 40 years later, my husband and I are the owners of a wonderful second home in Maggie Valley and regular visitors to the park. The photo to the left highlights Waterrock Knob just a short ride from Mystic Mountain to this spectacular sunset on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Born in North Carolina, I have always had a love of this wonderful state. Once we visited Maggie the first time as a family we couldn't imagine a better place to have a second home. Maggie and the surrounding area have everything available to us that we enjoy doing, hiking, fishing, antiquing to name a few. My son and daughter, now adults, love to get away from it all at the cabin, one of the most peaceful places in our lives.
We had a wonderful, relaxing vacation! Enjoyed the cabin, especially the porch- we enjoyed watching the birds come to the feeders and even a little chipmunk cane to eat the seeds the birds dropped! Beautiful weather - sunny days and very cool nights - Joey's was great as always. The cabin was so well equipped. We ate in most of the time. You have a very homey place. - thanks for sharing!
We pulled up about 4:30 pm and was just blown away
by the views, we took to the rocking chairs on the porch just to breathe in the fresh crisp air and listen to nature. The birds are are out and talking and animals are scurring
Well, we must unpack car & the cabin inside is just as beautiful outside. The skylights are awesome looking @ stars all night. The first am there we had snow and must
build fire can not wait to go back to Mystic Mtn have already told all our friends.
We had a great four-night stay Thanksgiving 2016 weekend at Mystic Mountain! We visited for the first time in August and as soon as we got home, we booked a return. It's a wonderful, cozy cabin that offers privacy while still being close to everything you might need. Only 10-15 minutes to a grocery store, restaurants, etc. The layout and furnishings are very comfortable. Mystic Mountain is a cozy, well-appointed cabin that feels like home. My only suggestion to make it more comfortable would be to replace the daybed with a full bed in the third bedroom.
Our group of three wanted to escape the heat for a few days on a somewhat last-minute cabin trip. We lucked out finding Mystic Mountain in Maggie Valley. The location was perfect--extremely easy to find and located right behind Maggie Valley Club. The cabin itself was absolutely beautiful and provided perfect accommodations for the three of us. The decor was mountain-appropriate but not cheesy, and everything was very comfortable. Kitchen essentials were available, including an extensive collection of spices. Relaxing on the porch was one of our favorite things to do. We chose to take the weekend to relax and get some rest, but we heard of many nearby places to hike and get outside, which we plan to explore in the future. We plan to return very soon and would wholeheartedly recommend Mystic Mountain to our friends!
Our family of five were looking for a Great place to stay and do some hiking in the Smokey Mountains. This property was an excellent home away from home. Probably the best appointed home we have stayed in, not a thing was missing. Plenty of plates, pots and pans, bowls, Spices, perfect for a family looking to do some home style cooking instead of eating our every night. This home is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Thank you very much for allowing us to stay in your home. The Maggie Valley is also a beautiful spot, very relaxing. The Perfect Mountain Getaway.
My husband and I and our two sons had a great vacation! Mystic Mountain was just as advertised. It had everything that we needed. The location was great. We would definitely recommend staying here!
My husband and I spent part of our 1st wedding anniversary at Mystic Mountain from June 28th-30th, 2016. We had a wonderful time at the house and around Maggie Valley, North Carolina. We spent part of our time in Arkansas and Tennessee before arriving in North Carolina and I wish we would have planned the whole trip for Maggie Valley, NC. The area is breathtakingly beautiful.
The house is very secure, comfortable, clean and in a great location surrounded by trees with a small stream nearby, a very peaceful setting. There is a view of the mountaintop from the front deck. The master bedroom is a good size and so comfortable. Everything you could possibly need is in the house, from dishes, pots, seasonings, BBQ grill, blender, etc. Donna and Mark were just a phone call away if we needed anything. Donna recommended breakfast at Joey’s Pancake House and we are so glad we went, it was delicious. Our stay couldn’t have been more comfortable or enjoyable and we look forward to going again.
