Walk right in and make yourself comfortable in this airy, family-style home with cathedral ceilings and fluffy, cloud-capped mountain views. There's plenty of room to spread out in this 2,100-square-foot, two-story home. It sleeps eight with four bedrooms and three bathrooms.
One of the best views in the house is from the bed in the second-story master bedroom. Open your eyes each morning to a peak called Mount Makana, which was made famous in the classic film, "South Pacific." Filmmakers called it Bali Hai, a name that stuck.
The bunk bed in one of the lower level bedrooms is another attraction. The bottom bunk is full-sized and the top, twin-sized.
The open stairway that graces the entry to this home is crowned by a crystal chandelier lighting the way to a large common space with a good-sized, fully equipped kitchen and sprawling living room. The house is equipped with a two-car garage, wireless high-speed internet, computer, printer, fax and unlimited mainland and outer island phone service.
This property is located in an older residential neighborhood within walking distance of the Princeville Center, where you'll find a grocery store, shops and restaurants. There are beaches, walking paths and a park nearby.
Attractions located close by include helicopter and horseback rides, kayaking, hiking and the village of Hanalei. In Hanalei, you'll find a collection of shops and restaurants characterized by old, plantation-style structures and friendly merchants.

About Kauai Vacation Rentals
It all began with a vision. A desire to share the magical island of Kauai with the world. And, founder, Lucy Kawaihalau, has dedicated her life to that goal through Kauai Vacation Rentals. "In a vacation rental home or condo, you really feel like you're living here," reflects Lucy, "so bringing together home owners and guests to achieve the 'best fit' is only a part of our distinguished reputation. Our responsibilities are twofold. For our owners, we provide the best management and maintenance services so they can rest easy, knowing their homes are meticulously cared for, since they may be thousands of miles away from their investment. For our guests, we believe they should be treated like royalty." And, it is the respect for the guest that gained Kauai Vacation Rentals recognition throughout the world. A friendly team dedicated to serving the needs of guests, with attention to all the details, makes it all possible. "A vacation to Kauai is so meaningful," adds Lucy. "For some, it may be the trip of a lifetime. For others, it may be a yearly event. This is a splendid place to relax. Our guests are 'energized' when they go home. That's what we mean when we say, 'magical Kauai.' " This genuine business model embodies the Hawaiian word, 'Aloha,' and it has gained much recognition within the industry and business venues, including numerous awards. Many glowing articles have been written, from Kauai Business & Real Estate Magazine, Hawaii Business, and internationally distributed Travel & Leisure Magazine to famed Fortune Magazine. In fact, Lucy Kawaihalau was personally honored with coveted awards from the Small Business Administration and Kauai Chamber of Commerce for her successful business achievements. Lucy concludes, "I am deeply grateful for our recognition and awards. Yet, it is the phone call, with heartfelt and glowing remarks about a visit to Kauai from a satisfied guest that brings us great joy. Therein lies our greatest achievement."

The perfect family nest
I am not a long writer but i can say that the stay, the island and the organisation are perfect. No problem to get there, to stay there and to leave form there. Very efficient package form hospitality. The house was just what we need for 7 to stay. We enjoy a lot to finish our day at the nice family room. The only thing missing would be a swimming pool ...hihi!
Loved this house!!
This house was perfect for our extended family who were in Kauai for my daughter's wedding. The house is spacious, and the layout worked perfectly for us. It is conveniently located in Princeville and is walking distance to the grocery store and a few restaurants. The drive to Hanalei is less than five minutes. The agency that handled the rental was very professional and responsive. The bathroom in the downstairs master bedroom could use updating, but really it was not an issue. We would definitely stay in this house again if we needed to accommodate a large group.
Comfortable accommodations in a Terrific Location
If you want to stay on Kauai's North Short, Princeville is a great bet. This house is near the grocery store, a few miles from the beach at Hanalei, and in a pleasant, quiet neighborhood. There's lots to see and do nearby, but be advised (we did not figure it out until we arrived) that in the Winter, storms and surf can make many area beaches unsafe to swim, and opportunities for snorkeling and other ocean activities are limited. The house is roomy and well equipped. We especially appreciated the full compliment of beach chairs, umbrella, snorkeling equipment and the two bikes. Kitchen works well, and the view from the deck is lovely.
Thank you for your review and you are correct the beaches and ocean activities on the North Shore of Kauai can very much be impacted by strong winter swells. If I speak to guests I usually alert them to this but I think we will add this to our property information on VRBO to make future renters aware of the potential hazard in the winter months. The Lifeguards and the local radio stations are very good at alerting visitors to when ocean conditions are unsafe and all visitors to Kauai should pay close attention to warnings of dangerous conditions.
We are glad you enjoyed your stay and our appreciative you slected our house for your vacation to Kauai.
Beautiful and comfortable home for multiple families. Close to groceries, shops and restaurants but quiet neighborhood. We had a fantastic stay and hope to return many times. The house is comfortable and well equipped, clean and well maintained and the little welcome package was a treat and truly came in handy!
Wonderful location, great neighborhood!
We spent 2 weeks over Christmas at Hale Luana and had a great vacation. The house is beautiful, set in a quiet neighborhood within easy walking distance to the Princeville Shopping Center, a community center and workout area, and minutes by car from the best beaches in Kauai. A walking / bike path extends two miles flanking a world class golf course to the St. Regis Resort overlooking Hanalei Bay. Papaya and orange trees frame a beautiful view of the lush mountains and distant waterfalls. From the deck of the house, we enjoyed sunbathing, outdoor cooking and stargazing. Robert was great to work with and very attentive to our thoughts and desires both before and after our stay. We are already planning our next visit to Kauai and we will stay here again!
Great house, great location
Our family of 5, including 3 small children, stayed at this house for 2 weeks this spring and had a great time. The location was perfect - it is very convenient to be close to the park and the shopping center in Princeville. The house itself is spacious and very comfortable. Robert was great to work with and very responsive. We have stayed at many houses in the Princeville region over the last 8 years and we will definitely return to this one.
