Set on an amazing piece of mountain property with two ponds, open space to play and hillside tree spaces to relax, this multi- cabin, multi-use property with 8 acres, a spring, two ponds, room to play, & a small orchard is a storybook place to make memories for a lifetime. Just 6 miles from downtown Cashiers, you are right in the middle of the best hiking, dining, shopping, golf and other activities that Western North Carolina has to offer.
You can go any direction from the property, and be at gorgeous waterfalls in less than 3 miles, or you can just sit on any one of 7 porches and take in the incredible views from the cabins.
The Lover’s Retreat - A 1 bed, 1 bath, chic, bright, romantic cabin with open views of the garden and pond. Two screened in porches and one sunning porch offer sumptuous lounging for coffee and wine, and the clawfoot tub will soak away your day in luxury. This cabin has a large kitchen, beautiful queen bed with 11" memory foam mattress, and a new comfy couch for reading, moving watching, or just snuggling while you watch the birds play outside. The couch is large enough to sleep an adult or child guest, and there is a washer/dryer.
The Tree House - For the rustic retreat lover, this chic NEW 3 story, 3 bedroom (one is a beautiful loft) 3 bath cabin is a unique work of art; An amazing cabin with a rustic feel but sumptuous, custom decor and all the amenities. Each bedroom is as unique as it is comfortable, has it's own private bath, and the kitchen and living areas are right out of a custom cabin magazine. Here's the Layout:
Bottom Floor - A Huge private covered porch leads to a full 1 bed, 1 bath apartment with it's own private entrance. There's a kitchenette, living area with sectional couch, custom 6 person pub table, chess/reading/gaming area and a super cozy elevated twin bunk for an additional guest. The couch is also big enough to sleep very comfortably. This is so much more than just an additional bedroom, it's perfect for 2-4 guests.
The Main Floor - Another huge, elevated and partially covered porch offers beautiful views and breezes. You enter into an open living & kitchen area whose focal point is a custom built staircase crafted from trees on the property. The kitchen is a fully equipped chef's kitchen, and there's a table for 6 that doubles as an island. This level has a washer/dryer closet, and spa-like master suite with large walk-in shower and a private courtyard leading from the master to the other side of the cabin.
The Loft - Not your average loft, this is one of our favorite spaces on the entire property! It has a huge open bedroom with privacy curtain, separate bath, reading area, and plenty of room to utilize the queen sized blowup mattress for additional guests. The view from the bed is private, and offers picture windows and colors glowing from the stained glass cathedral window. Lots of windows offer views and summer breezes to die for..
Add on options: The Kids Bunkhouse is heaven for either the young, or young at heart. This cabin is an upgrade to our normal pricing; It's designed for larger groups needing more sleeping space, especially for kids, and is exactly what you'd expect to find staring in a summer camp movie! It has electricity and heat to watch movies, play games, play indoor Nerf basketball or just hang out on the porch and enjoy having another separate space. There's two sleeping couches, a queen bed, and a cozy loft with 4 twin mattresses. This is a beautiful but primitive cabin with no running water or kitchen. Just imagine the ultimate mountain playhouse.. It comes stocked with movies, games, linens and the most comfortable couches east of the Mississippi. If you need more than 4 private bedrooms, a blowup queen mattress, couches and a twin bunk, ask us about this option..

About Tim Gallaway
My wife and I have built our dream vacation destination and have decided to share it with others. We live in Lexington, SC but come to Cashiers to hike and play as often as we can with our kids and friends.
Tim Gallaway purchased this Cabin in 2016
Why Tim Gallaway chose Jackson County
Because it had everything on our dream list, and no matter the season there's tons to do and beautiful places to be. We love drinking from the constant flowing spring that feeds the small pond after a long day of adventures, or just hanging out on one of the seven porches, depending on our mood.
What makes this Cabin unique
It's truly a magical place! With hillside mountain shade, and sunny fields to play on, there's always something to do no matter what the weather or mood! We can lounge, fish, hike, have campfires, grill and even play disc golf. At night, you can see the milky way while you watch fireflies blend with the stars. If we don't feel like cooking, we're only 6 miles from incredible dining, shopping and spas, so if we don't feel like hiking or playing outdoors, we can be as lazy and spoiled as we own slice of heaven.

Beautiful cabins on spacious property with relaxing vibes.
My entire party had a wonderful time relaxing and taking in the mountain air during our stay. The owner is great at communication and made our stay easy and stress free. Would highly recommend this rental to anyone trying to get away for a weekend.
It was a cabin experience for all ages.
This year to celebrate the New Year, four sisters from Florida and Georgia arrived at this mountain retreat with eight other family members ranging in ages from five to forty-something in tow. We found this beautiful property to be just big enough for the kids to run and play yet small enough to still keep tabs on them. The setup of rooms was perfect for our larger family dynamic providing both individual quiet spaces as well as spots the whole family could gather. The married couple enjoyed the sweet lower cottage complete with an old wood burning fireplace and claw foot tub. The other three sisters enjoyed the “big house” that was well supplied with games, movies, towels, and other necessities like shampoo and cooking spices. The kid’s cabin was perfect for the four pre-teen/teen boys. They enjoyed having a space all their own to play video games, but more often than not, they could be found outside digging ice chunks out of the lake and chasing each other with laser guns.Conversely, if you are looking to be able to keep contact with the outside world, do not count on it. There was little to no cell phone or internet reception at the cabin, but in the end isn’t that the point of getting away from it all! We also got to enjoy several friendly, neighborhood dogs during our stay, but luckily we are animal lovers. Unfortunately, We did not spend a lot of time in Cashiers except for a grocery stop, but found the downtown area of Highlands, NC delightful. The kids enjoyed ice skating and hot chocolate in the town square while the adults were able to shop. The Christmas atmosphere and lights painted a landscape scene from the latest hallmark movie. Looking back, we wish we could have spent more time there to explore what this little town had to offer. While the cabin itself does not have great mountain views, the gorgeous scenes on the way to Highlands provided several stops that were worth the time and effort both for those with limited mobility all the way to the experienced hiker. Saving the best for last, we cannot say enough good things about the property owner, Tim. Sometimes, when you explore a new area you don’t even know which questions to ask till you get there, but Tim seemed to anticipate these questions and provided relevant information before it was even needed making him a valuable tour guide before and during our trip. He was super easy to work with and answered all of our questions promptly. Give the cabin a try and you'll love it!
Such a sweet and detailed review, thanks so much, Holly and I’m so glad you all had a great time! Thank you and come back again!
The perfect vacation
This set of cabins was beautiful and the owners had thought of everything when preparing it. It was very easy to communicate with Tim, he was very friendly and prompt in his responses and in the information he shared. My family is very picky and very particular about cleanliness, and they were so excited about this property when they saw it. I highly recommend staying here!
Thanks so much, it was a pleasure having you, and we loved the video you made! What a great family!
A place to breathe with the trees !
What a beautifully executed vision that allows the comfort and nuances of nature to flow from the outside in. The hosts are generous and kind and have attended to every detail. The outdoors is spectacular and I look forward to spending time here in the future with family and friends. Highly highly recommended.
Thanks so much Simmi, we're so glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to seeing you again!
Amenities Galore! What a Kind Family (always available for assistance)
The owner was always available for questions. Texting was how we communicated and he went over the top to try to help. This was obviously a kind family. We felt like this was a place that was loved and cared for. Perfect spot for a family get away, or for a large group gathering. We were minutes from town. So many options to do on site, that we rarely felt the need to leave.
Moments away from waterfalls, incredible views, and just outside the front door was private lake side enjoyment.
We grilled out every night and enjoyed the sound system by the water.
All in all....this place had it ALL!
Thank you to this extremely kind and wonderful family, and most of all- thanks to Jeff!
