This location was a Destination Spot for weekenders in the early 1900's. Their was a restaurant on this Property, a hotel, bunk houses and a store. The guests traveled by Train from San Francisco and Santa Cruz to visit this Amazing Place, called 'Nye's Reef'. Most of the buildings are still standing, in fact this Ocean Front Cottage was visited by Jack London! A little inspiration!!

We loved staying at the cottage and enjoyed the incredible views, sounds of the ocean, and short walks to the Marine Preserve. The cottage had everything we needed, was clean and well furnished. Would (already have!) definitely recommend it to others looking for a peaceful retreat.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers.

What can I say. The property was exactly as described. Impeccably clean. The view, unparallelled. Quiet as can be except for the gentle purr of the ocean below. Stocked well for cooking if that is what you like but excellent food is available just a short distance away. Remember you are not staying at the Ritz Carlton. This is a cozy cottage. It is old but well maintained. Yes there is a slight slope in the foundation. Go sit outside in the comfortable chairs at the edge of the bluff, watch the sunset and the birds fly by, listen to the sea and then tell me it matters. We've already spread the word to family and friends who enjoy this kind of get away. Thank you Carol for a fantastic weekend. We were sad to leave.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers.

My wife and I found this to be a perfect get-a-way. Easy drive from silicon valley, with plenty to do nearby. The cottage is right on the bluff, overlooking the Ftizgerald Marine Reserve. From the top of the bluff you can see people exploring the tide pools at the reserve. Plenty of great photographic opportunities - glad I brought my good camera. When we left Friday morning, we drove down the coast to Ano Nuevo State Park, and took a tour out to the elephant seals. Great location, good cottage, easy rental process. We will likely be back.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

Our stay at the Sea Glass Cottage was amazing. The location and views are truly incredible — it was almost surreal to be located so close to the ocean. Everything about the cottage is incredibly considered, from the great kitchen to the fantastic bed to all the little details: hair dryer, umbrellas, blankets, beautiful towels, and more. The owners also gave us champagne on New Year's Eve — a lovely touch. Everything about our stay was absolutely perfect. If I could give this 10 stars, I would. We look forward to returning again someday!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

Everything is accessible from here; markets, restaurants, the beach etc. The accommodations are immaculate and well kept. A wonderful kitchen, nice bathroom and luxurious bed. In fact, we've been meaning to get their recipe for bedding as it was the most wonderful sleep the two of us had enjoyed in ages. Quite remarkable. We had a perfect week at this lovely little cottage. It is a short walk to a wonderful tidepooling beach, and a short drive to outstanding restaurants. A little further down the coast are plenty of great places to hike and explore. But we spent much of our time in the orange chairs in the yard of the cottage, looking at the water, sipping coffee, reading and enjoying the peace and quiet. I can't wait to go back!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers.

My husband and I had a very relaxing and comfortable stay in the sea glass cottage. It felt miles away form our day to day life. The views out all the windows look towards the sea which is amazingly close. It must be one of the best views anywhere. We were lulled by the ocean waves the entire time. The cottage was incredibly clean and well stocked with everything one can think of. The Marine reserve next door was just fabulous - we saw all kinds of sea life. It was heaven! About the owner: We have lived on the coast during the past 36 years. Jerome visited the area as a youngster with his grandparents in the 60's , fishing, and playing on the beaches. I grew up in the southpacific, my barings have always been the ocean. The beauty on the Coast , the open hills, the miles of beaches and the isolation from the quick pace of daily life helped us to decide to make this our home. Our choice to live and raise our children on the Coast is undeniably one our Our Best decisions!
