Best Deal on a Puget Sound View in Belltown!

Year Purchased: 2007

Why the Owner Chose Belltown

We live about 30 minutes South of Seattle, and much of Sally's work is in the city. So when we are able to/want to we get to stay in the heart of downtown Seattle, near all the wonderful restaurants (we're big foodie's). When we aren't using it, we make it availble to you, our guests so you can enjoy all that Seattle has to offer, with rarely needing a car!

The Unique Benefits at this Condo

The best part about our condo is the Location, and the View. Take a walk to the elevator, go downstairs and have breakfast at Macrina Bakery. It's been voted the Best Bakery in all of Seattle by King 5's Best of Western Washington multiple years. Then take a walk just 10 minutes south and you are at Pike Place Market. Buy some flowers, watch the fish merchants, and buy a cup of coffee from the first Starbucks location. After a day of sight seeing relax in the hot tub or pool, or sit and watch the Large LCD TV and enjoy the view from the big bay window.

Owner's Map of Belltown

Sally and I love to stay in Downtown Seattle at our condo. One of our favorite things to do is walk to the Pike Place Market, enjoy the local artisans, and have the World Famous Donuts right around the corner from the Flying Fish! Sally's work is mostly in the city, where as mine is near our house in Kent. We purchased the condo so we can enjoy all the sights and sounds of Seattle, without having the commute. The building is great, with amazing amenities and is within walking distance to almost everything in Downtown Seattle. We hope you enjoy your stay as much as we do!

    • We had a great seven day stay in Seattle - our first time there. The Urban Oasis is a nice first place to stay in Seattle as your are downtown close to everything and you have nice views of all of the passing boats (and parasailors) in Elliott Bay. Sally and Darik have appointed the condo very nicely - kitchen is well stocked (martini glasses ,wine glasses and martini shaker were perfect), plenty of hangars in the closet, linens, etc. It is also nice to have a secure Internet connection. Parking spaces in secure underground parking are narrow, so do not bring a large car. We enjoyed the convenience and quality of Macrina's bakery and Belltown Pizza right outside the front door, plus a small corner market. After a long day of sightsseing it was nice to not dress up for dinner but to get a pizza (quite good)have our drinks and watch the sights on the water from the bay windows in the living room. We also recommend the 2.5 hour sunset sailboat cruise from Emerald Charters - it was our excursion highlight. If you are a light sleeper, you may find the lights and noise of being on a main downtown street to be problematic. We hope to get back to Seattle again in the future. Norm and Linda, Peoria, AZ

    • What a beautiful city! We couldn't have asked or planned a more comfortable, scenic & convenient location. As our 1st time using VRBO we were very impressed with the service and will use it again. We parked our car and didn't use it again until we left. The bus & ferry system was so easy to use. There is so much to see just in the free bus area zone alone. With a transfer ticket you can go the Chittenden Locks, the U. of Wash., Woodland Park, etc. We were especially pleased with the bakery below our condo. The calories were well worth it. We've never enjoyed breakfast so much! Darik & Sally were great hosts and made our 5 day stay very memorable & special. Thanks for everything. Len & Gail Millville, CA

    • We found Urban oasis the perfect in-city location for our return visit to our old stomping grounds of Seattle, showing off the best of the Puget Sound: water and mountain views, near great restaurants, bakeries, bus lines, and ferry docks. The apartment was comfortable and beautifully appointed. Thanks for the extra touches in our welcome basket.

    • The Urban Oasis was the perfect place to stay for my first time in Seattle. We left our car upon arrival and didn’t go back until departure--- we walked everywhere. It was the location, attention to detail, views – well everything - that made this place so awesome! I plan on telling everyone back East about this place and I definitely plan on coming back. Thanks!

    • Darik, Thanks for all the great recommendations. I love Macrina Bakery and David’s favorite was the Buenos Aires Restaurant. We appreciated your immediate attention to the minor mishap. We look forward to staying again and will definetly recommend you to our family and friends. Sally, great decorating!

      Homeowner Response:
No problem, and thanks for staying! We look forward to possibly having your family and friends stay with us in the future! We live in town, so whenever there is anything we can do to help our guests comfort, we are happy to help. Thanks so much!

    • This is our top VRBO stay by far! You have a great, well-equipped kitchen that made fixing the wonderful local seafood a pleasure. We found some of the best restaurants to be right at our doorstep. What a great location! Thanks for thinking of everything and being so pleasant to deal with. We loved Seattle and the beautiful view of the water!

      Homeowner Response:
Thanks, it was great having you, and give us a call next time you are heading into town!

    • From the moment Darik met us at the entrance of the bat cave we felt welcomed (the garage). Even though we arrived late (around midnight) Darik graciously gave us a tour of the facility including the lovely pool, jacuzzi and courtyard. The detail of items at our disposal was truly impressive, ie shapoo, baggies, cooler, pillows, blowdryer everything we needed was handy. We gathered here for the marriage of our son/nephew. The location of “The Oasis” could not have been better for shopping…Make sure you get an amazing $15.00 bouquet at pike’s market right next to the brass pig…of course Darik had a great vase for them. The bakery Macrina, had an amazing quiche with sugar snow pieas, great CRISP surprise. The highlights of The Oasis… Jacuzzi, The Ed, the view of the cruise ship in the morning, the chandelier in the bathroom the comfort. We were not boweled over by the “flying fish” restaurant…sad do say we did enjoy breakfast all day on 1st about 6 blocks away (CJ’s). A must see is the amazing library. Make sure you go to the top. Don’t look for Mao Se Tungs Home in Chinatown (wrong info from in-laws) If you have a car, rattlesnake ridge is a great hike…we recommend the 2 mile hike, not the 10 mile J We were blessed with gorgeous weather, a bit cool, however blue skies. Open the windows , the air is fresh & clean, rare in a city. It is said that if the TV does not go in the 21st century you have made a human connection and we did… yahoo. We equate “The Urban Oasis” with “balm for the soul.” Thank you so much it exceeded our expectations.

    • This was just the place we needed for a busy wedding weekend. It was 95degrees in Seattle, but the air conditioning kept us cool. We were parched when we arrived, and there were bottles of water in the welcome basket to help keep us going. While we mostly ate out because of the wedding festivities, we did dine in one evening and we found everything we needed (even ziplock bags and tupperware for leftovers). It's clear you put a lot of thought into preparing the condo and it shows. Thanks!

      Homeowner Response:
Thanks, I hope you come again sometime soon!

It's in the perfect location for walking the city, visiting the museums, and of course, drinking and eating! What a great place to stay, it really felt like home. Thanks for investing such time in all the details!
