Location: Willow Creek, Trinity River, Shasta Cascade, California, USA (45 Miles Inland on Hwy 299 from Coast Highway 101 at Arcata)

The cabin is located in the rural northern California mountains, with the scenic Trinity River just 100 yards away. Just four miles from town, you are out in the country. Some folks have said the cabin is not as rustic as they thought it would be, we enjoy it's simple, comfortable style.

Summers are warm which makes the river swimming delightful, spring and fall are very pretty, and winter is often rainy and cool, no real snow sticks in the valley, but the mountain pass can see it's share. We have had visitors enjoy all seasons.

Salmon and steelhead fishing, rafting and kayaking are major activities. Or take a day trip to the coast and the Redwood National Park and beaches. Restaurants and a grocery store, golf course and tennis court in Willow Creek make your stay comfortable. Back roads for biking, the Trinity Alps and Marble Mountains are nearby, some hiking trails lead out of the valley as well. Or just relax and let the river flow.

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 1999

We are a middle aged couple with two children. We work full time and enjoy our vacation home when we can. We enjoy sharing it with others and of course it helps a great deal to have some rental income to maintain it. It is a special place to us and has created many happy family memories. We have some families return year after year, so it has become a happy family memories for them as well!

Why the Owner Chose Willow Creek

The Trinity River is a very beautiful natural setting. We bought the property to enjoy the sun, as we live in the coastal fog belt. We wanted a place right on the river, to be able to swim and relax without having to drive anywhere. We can grow a summer garden, which we really can't do in the fog. We love the town of Willow Creek, which has so many activities available, such as the rafting companies that rent boats and provide guided trips. There are no crowds and everything you need. We can be there for a weekend easily, with no long drives or flights.

    • My friends and I had a great stay at the cabin during our fishing trip. We found it to be clean, cozy, functional, and well equipped. The steelhead fishing was pretty good where our group fished from Willow Creek to Weitchpec, and the salmon were in good numbers at Weitchpec with some showing up further upstream. The riffle behind the house was dead which really surprised us! We always seem to manage to catch a few steelhead out of it during the past 20 something years.

    • Trinity River Cabin was great. We stayed for one week. Everything we needed was available in the cabin. The surroundings of the cabin are very peaceful and beautiful, we saw deer everyday. The town is cute and the people are very friendly. I highly recommend this cabin. We will definately be going back.

    • We had a relaxing week. My husband played golf and I enjoyed the river, sun and reading. Saw some fishermen and wathced some rafters go by. I highly recommend Trinity River Cabin ( the photo makes it look more rustic than it is! )

    • This is the place I grew up, my father built this unique summer getaway, & I can't tell you how wonderful it is to see that other people now have the chance to enjoy the peacefulness of this house in the woods. I'll never forget the smell of the country, the warm night air, & the sound of the river flowing thru the valley. It is the most peaceful place on earth.

    • Trinity River Cabin is the perfect place to relax. It is a very comfortable house with a deck and a great view of the river which is beautiful and private. Willow Creek, a very cute town with a pretty 9 hole golf course, is a short drive away.

    • Trinity River Cabin is a quiet, peaceful, relaxing getaway with a spectacular view of the Trinity River. Our family looks forward to staying there at least once a year, if not more. The cabin is charming, with full amenities. It is an easy walk down to the river, where it is always beautiful and where the swimming is great in the summer!

      Hi, the summer is here! April was constant rain, but now 2003 is looking like a great year, the river is full, the tomatoes are planted and the lawn mowed. The bathroom got a new floor this winter. We are ready for your visit!
