Aloha! We are Julie and Randy and welcome to our home! We want you to enjoy the fantastic ocean views and luxury of our remodeled 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom condo in Wailea Elua Village - a gated, 24-acre, oceanfront community on beautiful Ulua Beach in Maui.
Our home (Elua 701) is perfectly situated in the center of the Wailea Elua Village property. We are only 150 yards from Ulua beach -- just a 90 second walk to the sand and the world famous 2-mile Wailea Beach Walk that connects all the beachfront resorts along the stunning South Maui shoreline. Our condo is centrally located to the upper pool and Jacuzzi area, tennis court and putting green, as well as the newly remodeled and absolutely beautiful lower pool and pavilion area (which is right next to the beach). Additionally, since our condo is in the middle of the village we are far away from all the road noise of Wailea Alanui Drive which runs along the back of the property. Thus, whether you are relaxing inside our home or outside on the large lanai all you can hear is the surf, the birds, and the breeze in the palms.
From the moment you walk in the door of Elua 701, you will feel at home in our remodeled condo. You will see the quality touches from the granite counter tops to the cool tile flooring. The open floor plan of the main living area includes the well-stocked gourmet kitchen, the dining area with a bar and chilled wine locker, the expansive living room with an additional sitting area, and an entertainment center with a 46-inch Sony LCD wide-screen TV and a CD/DVD home theater system -- all with a fantastic ocean view.
The lanai off of the living room is huge, adding 525 square feet of outdoor space to the already spacious 1260 square feet interior area of our condo. This outdoor space is partially covered so there is always sun or shade available. The lanai also provides two lounges, a BBQ grill, and a comfortable outdoor dining area for six people. Additionally, there is an intimate bar-height table for two that is truly a special place for morning coffee and evening drinks at sunset.
The Master Suite features a new extra-large "California King" bed, high-thread-count sheets and bedding, 26-inch LCD flat-screen television, DVD player, and over-sized spa bath towels. The large, ocean view, second bedroom has new Queen and Twin beds with high-thread-count sheets, television, and over-sized spa bath towels in the adjacent bathroom.
You should also know that our listing is one of the few truly “by owner” Wailea Elua Village properties on VRBO. Believe it or not, nearly 75% of the 66 Elua Village listings on VRBO are managed and operated by vacation rental management companies on Maui, where a VRBO guest will have no interaction with the actual owner of the condo. In contrast, Julie and I personally handle and manage every single VRBO inquiry and booking for Elua 701. After all, isn’t VRBO supposed to be Vacation Rental “By Owner”?

The support of this company is available to our guests during their stay in Elua 701 should there be a question or issue that Julie and I cannot immediately answer or resolve from our home in California.
We provide the check-in and check-out cleanings, as well as mid-stay cleaning services at 5 to 6-day intervals for longer bookings. Our home does not include daily maid service. However, if this is something you are interested in, daily maid service can be provided at an additional charge. Just ask us! Also, please note the Wailea Elua Village Homeowner’s Association requires a minimum stay of 5 nights for all vacation rentals.

Why the Owner Chose Elua Village
We chose the Wailea Elua Village for many reasons. Elua is a gated, oceanfront complex situated on a gorgeous, white sand beach called Ulua Beach. Additionally, the grounds at Elua are absolutely spectacular with orchids growing on almost every tree. Also, we love SCUBA diving, and Elua Village is less than 1-1/2 miles from the Kihei Boat Ramp where all the dive and snorkle boats depart for Molokini Crater and all the other great South Maui dive sites! Finally... that beach we were married on... was Ulua!!
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
The location of our unit (#701) in the Elua Village is perfect! It is marked by the green pin on the map to the right. Click on the "satellite" button and then zoom in to see our exact location in the village. We are centrally located, less than 150 yards from the sand of Ulua Beach, as well as the newly remodeled main pool and pavilion area for the Elua Village complex. We are even closer to the mid-village pool and jacuzzi area (which is hardly ever crowded because everyone goes to the new pool/pavilion that is on the beach!) Our location in the village very quiet because we are far away from the road noise of Wailea Alanui Road at the back of the complex. Finally, we have a wonderful ocean view from our huge lanai (which is over 500 square feet!)
Less than a 90 second walk from our front door! Also, there is really good snorkling at the lava point on the north end of the beach. Just go early in the morning before the wind and crowds arrive.
Also only 90 seconds from our front door. This area is absolutely beautiful with covered (shaded) and uncovered lounging areas, a full kitchen, and BBQs. Plus, it is right on the beach!
Even closer to our unit than the main pool area, and there is usually nobody there!
This is a gated area (only open to Elua owners and guests). It is on a grass-covered point above the crashing surf with lounge chairs. This is our favorite spot for sunsets with an "adult beverage".
This is the exact place where we were married! There used to be a tiny little area of sand here but it was washed away during Hurricane Iniki in 1992. We go and sit on the lava rocks every trip.
A 5 to 10 minute walk from our condo. This outdoor mall has great shopping and dining opportunities.
Great salads and great pizza. Casual dining in a very up-scale neighborhood. Order your food and drinks, find an open table, and they will bring the food to you. We eat here once every trip.

We were married on the beach in Maui, in a wonderful little ceremony attended by just ourselves and our parents. That was back in 1990 and over the years we have absolutely fallen in love with Maui, especially the south (Kihei/Wailea) side. While we are currently still "tied to our jobs" on the mainland, our plan is to "someday" retire to Maui. In the meantime, we would love to share our home with you.

This was our 2nd visit to this property. This time for 3 weeks. Settling in was automatic. This condo has the feel of a well kept home, with close proximity to the club house, pool and beach. Correspondence with owners is immediate and professional. Their activity recommendations were helpful (especially the snorkel with Suzie @ Turtle Town). So many daily moments with family (representing 3 generations) were enhanced by the accomodations and Elua village. By the end of our stay this experience will be hard to repeat... but we'll be back to try! Highly recommended.

Pleasantly surprised by how nice both the complex and our condo were. The condo has all of the conveniences of home including multiple TV's, wireless access, and a nice assortment of kitchen gear. We loved the patio area and beautiful ocean views. Close to all of the Wailea resorts without having to put up with the thousand other guests and across the street from a great golf course. Very secure property.

Randy, the owner, is a super guy to deal with. Thorough, informative and responsive. The unit is even better than the pictures show--clean, well appointed, nicely decorated in one of the best locations on the island. So close to the ocean in such a beautiful quiet complex. Everything you need is there, including a newly revonated pool close to one of the best walking paths on the island. I would rent this unit again and again. My only complaint is that I stayed too short a time. Next visit-2 weeks.

We had a fabulous experience with this rental. Julie and Randy have a lovely home. The condo has been beautifully updated and stocked with everything you could possibly need. The location is just amazing! It is minutes from the beach and has a breathtaking trail right along the ocean. Restaurants and shopping are within easy walking distance. The Wailea Elua Village itself is very well maintained and has a great pool that is even closer than the beach. My 6 year old had us visiting it every day - he loved it! The rental process itself was very easy and smooth. Randy kept me posted through the entire process. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this unit.

The accommodations and location are perfect! There is not only pride of ownership, but obviously a love of Maui that the owners were eager to share with my family. Extremely clean, very very comfortable and an excellent location to the beach and local amenities. Fantastic snorkeling/scuba is only a 60 second walk away, to one of the nicest beaches we could find. No reason to drive anywhere unless you are looking to surf. There is high-end shopping/restaurants next door with a major chain grocery store a short drive away. Our overall experience was better than we could have imagined and we are already planning our next trip back. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone looking for that special trip to Maui.

The only thing better than the place is the owner. Extremely responsive, helpful, and gracious. Unfortunately, I couldn't keep my mouth shut and already recommended this place to some of my friends. The location is superb and the grounds are impeccable. Everything and anything you might need is in the condo. Great snorkeling in the morning right out your door and when the surf kicks up, it's time to boogie board. Walk to Wailea shops or along the ocean path. Terrific place and highly recommended.

June 2011 we stayed two wonderful weeks and I can't say enough great things about the location of Elua Village and this unit itself and the owners. If you are looking for a morning run or an evening stroll along the beach, the sidewalk path is beautiful. Walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Swimming, boogie boarding, snorkeling beach - right there. Exclusive access to the point where you have resort-quality lounge/cabana chairs that overlook the ocean. Peep in on a nearby luau. The unit is clean, comfortable and tasteful. (I'd probably lose a few mirrors in the decorating ... otherwise, modern and well-appointed.) Beautiful landscaping -- bougainvilleas, orchids, banana trees (check the office at the pool for a few free home-grown apple bananas). The owners are outstanding to work with -- they aren't about just renting you a place to stay but really making sure your vacation experience is wonderful. Truly caring and attentive trustworthy people. They even supplied a Best of Maui entertainment guide that we found really useful - and checked up on us before, during and after the vacation. Who does that these days?

This was my sister's and my first use of VRBO for planning a vacation getaway and certainly will not be our last! Our review might sound like all of the others here, but what is not to like? NOTHING!!! Randy made it so easy from before the booking process right on through the check-in and check-out. He was always right there with an answer when a question was raised. The condo was fantastic...exactly as pictured and extremely well equipped and very, very clean! The grounds at Elua Village are gorgeous and well maintained. The pools were beautiful and peaceful. Many times we had the upper pool to ourselves. We look forward to returning to Randy and Julie's unit with much anticipation! It was like being "at home" in Maui. Aloha! Our stay at this unit within the Wailea Elua Village property was nothing short of fantastic. For those of you that have not had the pleasure of staying at the Wailea/Makena end of Maui I would highly recommend it for its more relaxed and 'civilized' vibe. Plain and simple: There's less hustle and bustle in this area, and if it is more activity you're looking for, the Kihei area is a short trip away. As for the Elua property, again the calm and serenity of the complex is what strikes you. Great proximity to the beaches in Wailea, The Shops At Wailea, the Wailea seawalk/promenade and the additional resources of Makena (Big Beach, Little Beach, hotels, La Parouse Bay, etc.) make this a great base camp, especially if you are travelling with a young family like us. All this with easy highway access to the Piilani Hwy make getting to Kahului, Lahaina, Kaanapali, Hana, etc. super easy. The additional amenities associated with Elua are great - fantastic pools; putting green; community BBQ facilities/full kitchen/public computer/fitness equipment at the Pavilion, etc. etc. The staff are rock solid too. As for this unit specifically, we have had the good fortune of staying at the Elua before in units higher up the slope and closer to the road, and this one is far superior. It is about mid-slope on the grounds, and a very short 2 minute walk to the main pool/Pavilion on site, right in front of Ulua Beach. The smaller pool (2nd of 3) and putting green are 3 minutes' walk away in the other direction. All in all, a very convenient location within Elua Village, with great ocean views off the lanai, but without the super-spendy rates of the units that front the coastline/beach. Another great thing we experienced was the professionalism, friendliness, and hospitality of the owners. Although the rental is managed by a property mgmt. company, you still deal with the owners one way or another sooner or later, and I have to say they were top-notch. This is evidenced also by how well-kept and well-stocked the unit was: TV, no problem; web, no problem; kitchen - well stocked and updated; interior - well maintained and updated; provisions - many included. Extra goodies like the beach chairs, beach umbrellas, and picnic cooler were appreciated also. We can't wait to visit again. Mahalo!

I would love to consider Elua Village my home away from home because that's how comfortable I felt during my vacation at this tropical oasis. Elua Village is safe, secure and well equipped for families. I was amazed by how perfectly kept the grounds, pool and gardens were and the friendliness of the staff. Maui has so many wonderful tourist destinations but I found myself completely happy spending time at Alua beach, in the kid friendly pavilion/pool, or relaxing at my ocean view condo. This was our families first tropical vacation and I'd have to say that all my expectations were greatly exceeded from the beauty of which Elua Village is situated to how friendly and helpful the condo owners were. There is no doubt in my mind that our family will return to Elua Village in the future! Thanks for the great memories!
