White Sands Village condo description
ECONOMY STIMULUS SAVINGS!!! SPECIAL $110/NT plus cleaning ($150) and taxes.
Upscale and immaculate, this 2 bed, 2 bath condo across the street from White Sands beach is your ticket to paradise. Recently updated with new paint, furniture, linens, and art, you'll feel surrounded by comfort and luxury. Master bedroom has a California King bed with bathroom en suite, flat screen TV with cable and access to the lanai. Second bedroom has a king bed with bathroom just outside the door.
Living room has a flat screen TV, Ihome, fax, new furniture and WIFI (computer NOT provided). Very large lanai has a table and chairs for dining al fresco, along with a lounger and chairs to relax. Lanai is very tropical feeling and private with palm trees abounding. Kitchen has everything you should need in it to cook (or not). Pans, utensils, bowls, etc.
Grounds are beautifully manicured, there is a pool and BBQ area pool table available for all to use. The site manager is very good about keeping White Sands Village quiet, clean and friendly. This is a great place for a romantic getaway or for families with children.
Call me or email me (I'm almost always available via email) for more info (Hawaii time, 6 hrs behind EST).
White Sands Village is located on Alii Drive ('the strip'), several miles from the 'original' townsite of Kona. There's an upscale restaurant across the street, as well as White Sands State beach park with bathrooms and showers. The condo is across the street and to the back of the first building, so there's no beach or street noise. One mile south, you'll find the town of Keahou, where you'll find shopping, restaurants, movie theaters, golfing, snorkeling, and a small boat harbor.
This unit is considered first floor, but has parking underneath, so is not at ground level. There is an elevator, but would not be suitable for anyone unable to walk up some stairs. The building is concrete so is extremely quiet.
Kona is a very laid-back town where the aloha spirit still lives. Plenty of restaurants and shops line the beachfront giving you a very quaint and friendly feel. You won't find bunches of skyscrapers here, just low lying buildings to allow you beach views from restaurants. People still stop to let you cross streets here. If you're looking for a friendly, fun and adventurous (or not, you pick) vacation, Kona is the place for you.

Love this condo!
Love this condo!
Our family loves this condo! We love the convenient of walking across the street to Magic Sands beach everyday! The place had everything a family would need on vacation! Penny is such a great owner . She allowed us to check in earlier than the allowed time, if we had arrived earlier but didn't. She even let us stay a few hours 2 days after we checked out because our flight wasn't leaving until 9pm. Thanks for everything and we really enjoyed our stayed here!

July family trip
July family trip
This was my first trip to Hawaii and first time using VRBO and i was very pleased with both! The condo was in good condition, the pictures adequately captured the unit and location. It was very clean and well stocked with the kitchenware and linens we needed. Pool was great and we spent hours soaking up the rays while listening to the ocean waves crashing agains the beach across the street. Very pleased with the experience. Penny did a great job prepping the condo and giving us some pointers for our stay. we would definitiely recommend for a family looking for relaxation and all the basics!

Manager response: Thank you, Theresa! It was so nice meeting you and your family at the pool. I don't often get to meet my guests so that was a treat. And I'm very glad you all had a great stay and enjoyed the condo...and that the switch in the hallway turned on the outside fan. I hope you can come back and visit again soon.
Ou week on the big Island
Ou week on the big Island
My sister and I stayed for a week at this condo. I would highly recommend the property. It is well decorated, the beds are comfortable and the kitchen has just about everything you need. The location was fabulous. How lucky were we to walk to Magic Sands Beach while others were trying to figure out where to park and if the tide came in too far, we walked over to the pool. We found it convenient to the farmer's markets, grocery shopping and the "downtown" area. We ate dinner one night at Kenechi Pacific which was less than two miles away and it was superb! Two breakfasts at Lava Java close to town were also great. Outriggering from the King Kamemhameha hotel allowed us to paddle with the dolphins. We enjoyed our outing to Hilo - 2 hour drive - picnic at the Japanese garden, shopped the little town, visited Rainbow Falls and the small market. If you don't mind driving to another beach the Kapuna beach in the area near the fancy resorts was fabulous - $5 to park, short walk to the beach and the waves were perfect for body surfing and swimming! We also visited petroglyph trail, which was OK a 1.7 mile round trip walk.

Great stay in Kona
Great stay in Kona
We had a great stay in Kona. Had problem with oven and Penny and Bill came right over and repaired the oven. We went around the island twice, went sport fishing didn't catch anything but, instead we got to see the whales instead. Went to see the volcano twice, to black sands beach, snorkled, lauau best x-mas ever saw turtles and all kinds of reef fish. Great white sands beach. Like Penny said, just walk across the street. Best Value in Kona
Best Value in Kona
From the moment we walked in the door we knew we were lucky to have found this gem. Penny (the owner) has put a lot of thought and expense into furnishing her condo in a comfortable, tasteful and practical way. For your obvious activities she has full sets of snorkling and bogey board gear, saving you both time and money. But for the less obvious, the kitchen seemed to have everything we needed whenever we looked for it, and even the fridge had a nice array of items from previous visitors (encouraging you to continue this pass it forward take-something-leave-something ethic). The pool is small but friendly, and the grounds are well designed and immaculate. The complex is obviously well managed. We found this to be the perfect base to explore and enjoy everything Kona has to offer, and I already sorely miss sipping my morning Kona coffee on the lanai while being greeted by the birds and bright green and red geckos.

This condo is located nicely across the street from a popular boogie boarding beach, magic sands. Every morning we'd go there and boogie board. The condo supplies the boards. In the evening we could go there to watch the sun go down. The open air trolley bus goes by the condo daily and stops close by. It costs 2.00 each per ride. The condo is on Ali Drive and if you go down to the end there is a lot of shopping and open air restaurants. We loved going to Lava Java. It costs a little more but the food and service is great and they have wonderful entertainment. The farmers market is on this street and the Market Place. We arrived after hours at the condo and had no difficulty getting in. We took our GPS so it took us right to the door. The office staff are very friendly and helpful. The condo is fully stocked and some nice touches we appreciated were; having a roll of toilet paper, bar soap, and a printer. The condo itself was clean but we did find the dishes weren't always clean and this is likely because previous condo users didn't clean them properly. The outside of the fridge feels like it needs to be cleaned but I understand that it is clean but it has salt water corrosion. The picture of the living room area didn't match the actual contents. The sofa was different and the cushions were flattened in spots making it uncomfortable to sit on. We did contact the owner during our stay and received prompt service. I would recommend this condo to 55 and older but children are allowed. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would come again.

Manager response: Aloha, Just a quick response. My apologies about the dishes. My current tenants emailed me a few days ago and said there was a problem with the dishwasher, so maybe that was why they were dirty. My latest guest departed yesterday and I'm having a new dishwasher installed today. The front of the refrigerator is not dirty, we live in a salty environment and there are a few tiny yellowish spots in the paint on the refrigerator. I will update the living room picture, I had to replace the cream colored leather sofa as it had some stains and was very uncomfortable, so I purchased a new sofa last year and a new rug. I'll check the sofa for flat spots, as it's supposed to have a guaranty so far as the cushion wear, so thank you for that. I don't spend much time lounging there so I don't know these things unless someone tells me, so thank you, I appreciate comments so that I can keep everything there as comfortable as possible. I will update the picture as soon as the next tenants are gone. The condo itself is child friendly, the condominiums have some older tenants that are not necessarily as welcoming to children at the pool as I would like them to be (unless, of course, their own grandchildren are visiting). However, most people seem to want to take the children to the beach more than the pool, and since the beach is right across the street, it's very convenient. I find the older tenants are gone from the pool in the evening, so if the children are still wanting pool time then, it's not a problem. Mahalo, Penny
A Great Stay
A Great Stay
I stayed here with my wife and 3 teenage girls. My wife absolutely loved everything about this unit. The girls and I loved it as well. The layout of the condo, the cleanliness and the quality of the furnishings and decorations, the colors, the pool and tennis courts, the pool table, the hot tub, and the location of being right across the street from Magic Sands Beach were all great plusses. The beds were very comfortable. The condo was well equiped as there were many items either supplied by the owner or left by previous tenants that came in handy. We used some things and left some items for others to use rather than bring them home with us. The general weather on the island was not very good while we were there, but at the condo every day was just about perfect. We would definitely come back. Thanks Penny!

Manager response: Thanks Mark! I'm glad you had a great visit and the condo suited your needs. I'm always happy when my guests have a great time, both at the condo and in Kona. I'm happy to live right around the corner from my condo and to be able to enjoy Magic Sands beach all the time! Hope you all come back again sometime!
We had a wonderful time staying at this condo. The location is perfect. The condo is beautiful and well stocked and decorated. We came with our two kids and they loved it too. The beach across the street is the best beach around. My Son was even swimming with a big sea turttle there. The snorkle beach is only a mile up the road and all the snorkle gear is at the condo. We saw the most amazing fish all for free. This condo is one of the best in the complex I think. Nice big trees in front of the deck which gives you some privacy. The pool is wonderful. We rented a jeep and toured the whole island. Condo is close to the center of town and all the markets. I am telling all my friends from home about this condo and how great Hawaii was. Thanks Penny.

Manager response: Thanks so much for wonderful praise, Steffany. I'm happy to hear what a great time you and Chris and the kids had. Thanks for leaving the place so clean on your departure, as well. I hope you come back and see Kona soon!! Cheers, Penny
Went to Kona to celebrate my 50th along with friends, one of which also was celebrating their 21st. From the moment we walked in, we were more than pleased. Everything was as represented in the HomeAway site. Anything you could think of was available, from cooking needs to recreational needs (i.e., snorkel masks/fins, beach umbrella and chairs). Just a stone's throw away from Magic Sands Beach, we were able to go out and enjoy beautiful morning sunrise/sunsets within minutes. Kahaluu Beach Park was about a 20 minute walk away for great snorkeling. Trolley pick up and drop off was right at the condo. Definitely recommend a stay here and if I ever return, I will be sure to stay again! :)

About: I live in here on the Big Island of Hawaii in Kona and love it. We have a very active community here and it's the greatest place I've ever lived. It's a beautiful town and a wonderful island with so many fun and exciting things to do. . or not!
Why White Sands Village:
White Sands Village is a wonderful condo site, a concrete building that makes it so quiet, you never know if you have neighbors!
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
I've decorated the condo in Hawaiian with red walls for the Goddess of Fire, Pele, and for sunsets. I love the old Hawaaian posters, so I have some replicas, along with my favorite hula pictures anda few comical geckos to round out the bunch. It's very comfortable and relaxing, especially in the evening when the lights are low! It's perfect for families, honeymoons, or just anytime. I hope you love it as much as I do.
