Why the Owner Chose Buena Vista
My wife, Debbie and I were on a motor home vacation when we happened upon Buena Vista. We asked the local Realtor if there was ever anything for sale on the River and was told, "hardly every". She did say, however there was an odd property on the river that she did not recommend. We asked to see it anyway and fell deeply in love with it. It had all kinds of old dilapidated small buildings on the 7 acres and a rough trail over government land along the river to get to it. We were lucky to have our offer accepted over two others that day! We obtained a Right-Of-Way from the government, improved the road and eventually replaced the cabin on the waters edge with a new cabin. We've removed the old buildings and have cut a large pad to build our dream house someday. Every local who grew up in the area that has visited our property admits they never knew it existed and that it is one of the most impressive and special finds in Central Colorado. It's truly my most favorite place on earth!
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
Peace and quiet, except for the churning sounds of rushing river water and the occasional raft or kayak passing by. The fishing is the best for rainbow and brown trout. We are completely surrounded by almost limitless BLM lands that are yours to explore. There is hiking, biking, kayaking, rafting, swimming, off road vehicle trails and more 14,000 foot mountains to climb than in any other location in North America! You will not find a better or closer location to the Arkansas River anywhere along its length!

Just before crossing the Four Mile Creek culvert, you cross over the property line between the neighbor and the US Government. The Four Mile Creek holds great trout east of the culvert in beaver pond
From this point, if you drew a straight line to point D, you will see a half circle of land the river flows around. That land is our 7 acres.

After vacationing in Colorado over 40 times , I found the perfect place for a relaxing visit . It is just far enough away , but close enough , to several scenic places . Great day trips in any direction , fabulous hiking , but some days there is no need , but to sit on the deck , or fish and take in the river . I had the best luck fishing with a "Little Tasmanian Devil" lure . This is definitely the best VRBO listing that I have stayed in , in CO .
Recommended for:Age 55+, pet owners, adventure seekers, sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children.

We wanted a private, relaxing getaway and this was indeed the perfect place to unwind. The outdoor hot tub was fantastic. The accomodations were exactly as described and the scenery and views were breathtaking. Being so close to the river was incredible. I would highly recommend for a romantic getaway/retreat. This was definitley one of my favorite vacations, and can't wait to visit here again! Thank you!

Thank you for allowing us to stay at your beautiful place-love the seclusion! We fished in the river and at Clear Creek Reervoir. We enjoyed fresh trout for supper. Went to Agnew Falls and St. Elmo. Immaculate cabin; very secluded; right on the river with a fantastic view. Definitely small, as advertised, but would be great for a couple and/or couple with one or two kids. Owners were very easy to work with. Would definitely go back.

Thank you for opening up your beautiful vacation home to us. The weather was awesome and the scenery was absolutely gorgeous! The cabin was very tastefully decorated, we loved relaxing on the deck, catching fresh trout out of the river below and sitting in the jacuzzi on cool evenings. Buena Vista is a cute little town and you can do as much or as little as you like. We wanted to have a little fun on the river so did a half day guided ducky (inflatable kayak) trip with Buffalo Joes that was a lot of fun. My best vacation yet! Thanks again! :) Oh...The only negative was not having instructions/manual for the cappuchino maker. That was one thing I was excited about using and we were not able to. I understand it's an expensive machine so maybe make it a "you break it you pay for it" thing"!
