Owner was great to work with - prompt responses, etc. cabin was in great condition, very comfortable and a beautiful setting. We loved meals on the deck or reading or just watching kayakers (only a few) and listening to the river. Be sure to open your window at night and fall asleep to the river. Cabin was well- equipped. We rented gear and fly fished the stretch below the cabin. Caught a few small ones! This is a great choice and close to downtown BV (not walkable to town, though).Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+.

My wife and I had a wonderful time at your cabin. We are both mtn bikers and I am a Kayaker. It was great to put-in up river on the Numbers and the Fractions and paddle back to the cabin. The deck over the river was great. The hot tub was great. The surrounding mtn biking was great. We rode the Monach Crest Trail. It was the most we I have had on a mtn bike. I even hiked above the cabin on the old Midland grade railroad south to the abandon trestle abuttments. The view was spectacular. I have nothing but good things to say about your place in Buena Vista. How lucky you are to own that piece of heaven. This an incredible place to stay. If you enjoy the sound of flowing water, beautiful mountains,rocks, trees, this is the place to be!!!!!!! . The pictures don't really show how many trees there are in the area.it is really awesome.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Hubby and I just spent 4 wonderful nights in this cabin,,,, Perfect location, extremely private...the kitchen is fully equipped, owners are easy and great to deal with, and there's no better sleep I've found than in that bed listening to the river with the cool breezes blowing through the windows.. After vacationing in Colorado over 40 times , I found the perfect place for a relaxing visit . It is just far enough away , but close enough , to several scenic places . Great day trips in any direction , fabulous hiking , but some days there is no need , but to sit on the deck , or fish and take in the river . I had the best luck fishing with a "Little Tasmanian Devil" lure . This is definitely the best VRBO listing that I have stayed in , in CO .Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We wanted a private, relaxing getaway and this was indeed the perfect place to unwind. The outdoor hot tub was fantastic. The accomodations were exactly as described and the scenery and views were breathtaking. Being so close to the river was incredible. I would highly recommend for a romantic getaway/retreat. This was definitley one of my favorite vacations, and can't wait to visit here again! Thank you!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

We have had a wonderful time in this beautiful cabin on the river. We went fishing both days and caught lots of fish in lakes and on the river. About the owner: I am a professional photographer and artist. I have studios in three different states and vacation rentals at those locations. My works are displayed and sold at several Galleries in California, Idaho and Colorado. You may see my work at several Galleries in Aspen. Disney Resorts commissioned me to produce several large Giclee works for their Paradise Pier Resort next to the original Disneyland Hotel in Anaheim, CA. The new Sheraton Resort in Carlsbad, CA commissioned a work for their beautiful new ocean view lobby next door to LegoLand USA. I love shooting landscapes and BV has beautiful mountains, river, and the changing of the leaves!!! Nature at it's most majestic and beautiful.............
Why the Owner Chose Buena Vista:
My wife, Debbie and I were on a motor home vacation when we happened upon Buena Vista. We asked a local realtor if there was ever anything for sale on the river and was told, 'hardly ever'. She did say, however there was an odd property on the river that she did not recommend. We asked to see it anyway and fell deeply in love with it. IT WAS A GEM AND WE KNEW IT!!!! Private and right on the river with no neighbors on top of us!!! It had all kinds of old dilapidated small buildings on the 7 acres and a rough trail over government land along the river to get to it. We were lucky to have our offer accepted over two others that day! We obtained a Right-Of-Way from the government, improved the road and eventually replaced the cabin on the waters edge with a new cabin. We've removed the old buildings and have cut a large pad to build our dream house someday. Every local who grew up in the area that has visited our property admits they never knew it existed and that it is one of the most impressive and special finds in Central Colorado. Peace and quiet, except for the churning sounds of rushing river water and the occasional raft or kayak passing by. The fishing is the best for rainbow and brown trout. We are completely surrounded by almost limitless BLM lands that are yours to explore. There is hiking, biking, kayaking, rafting, swimming, off road vehicle trails and more 14,000 foot mountains to climb than in any other location in North America! You will not find a better or closer location to the Arkansas River anywhere along its length!
