We operate the Tunnel Hill Winery and Sunshine Farm Market, overlooking beautiful Lake Chelan. We are busy during our lake's summertime tourist season, but in the winter are able to escape for a few weeks of sun and golf in San Diego. We hope you'll enjoy being here as much as we do!

We enjoyed our stay here. The owners did all they could to make the property comfortable. It was exceptionally well stocked. We would have rated it excellent except that the space for dining is small and fits only six people. When our Poway family visits us, we have eight. We would recommend this property to others..Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, sightseeing.
Owner response: We sure appreciated having you as our guests! Agree it would be nice to have more comfort for visitors, so added extra seating just this year to fit 6 for dinner and a few more in living room. When looking at properties it was tough to decide -- "more space or great views and extra-nice location."

We thoroughly enjoyed our month at the Evan's condo. The location was ideal and convenient to absolutely everything. The views were spectacular and the house was clean, well maintained and very nicely furnished. Jaclyn was very prompt to answer any questions we had. We would definitely recommend their condo to anyone coming to Rancho Bernardo.Recommended for: Age 55+.
Owner response: Thanks, Joe & Susan, it was great to have you as guests! Especially nice to have you share some outstanding nearby restaurants finds that we hadn't yet discovered. Adding them to our new Insider's Guide will make it even better for future guests!

I stayed here while having work done on my own condo, and couldn't have been happier. The location is great and right by all of my favorite grocery stores (Sprouts, Trader Joe's, and Cosco, as well as a Ralph's and Vons) with easy access to the 15. The area around this place is very safe and upscale, so no worries when taking the dog out for a late night walk, or going for a jog (great 2.25 mile loop with a few mild hills!). All of the "little extras" were there so you don't need to worry about making dinner and THEN realizing you don't have foil or tupperware, which is a nice touch that I appreciated when I was packing my lunch for the next day. Also, I like cooking and kitchen stuff, so I was VERY impressed with the quality of the cookware and knife set--as any cook knows, knives can make or break your prep. All in all, I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet place to come home to during their visit to San Diego.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks, Kat! It was nice of you to explain so thoroughly some things about our property that are probably important to others but we hadn't thought to point out. Glad this turned into a win-win for both of us!

Loved this home. Perfectly located overlooking a golf course with moutain view as a backdrop. Spent a lot of time on the front patio. The beds are outfitted with 3 inch foam pads. Very comfy. The pool and hottub are a 3 minute walk at the end of the cul de sac. This was our first time in RB as we have stayed previously in SD. Quiet, with tons of shopping and eateries. Mainly, we came for the golf and found it. At least 6 public courses within 10 miles. Everything as advertized. We are returning next year.Owner response: Bob & Mary — We really appreciated the "owner-like" care you gave our property and good communications over your 3-month stay. We'll love to have you again next year!

E-mail received from guest, shared with permission: Everything is going just great. Seriously, the townhouse and neighborhood is even nicer than expected from the photos and description. The location is super handy. The neighborhood and pool at the end of the block serene... so nice to come "home" each night after sometimes hectic or stressful final days of wedding planning. All of the extra touches, like coffee filters, seasonings, foil, garbage bags, soap, shampoo, laundry detergent, etc were an extra special surprise...I've never had that level of accommodation in a vacation rental before... If we ever feel the need to spend more time down here, this place will absolutely be on our list. See you someday soon in Chelan, at the winery!Did you find this review helpful? We highly recommend the Evans's Townhouse. We have been coming there each spring and fall since 2009 and feel it is truly our home-away-from-home. It is very comfortable and attractive in furnishings and well supplied. It sits on a lovely golf course with many trees, in a safe and beautiful neighborhood. It is nicely located within easy driving to several good shopping centers and to Interstate 15, which connects readily to anywhere in the San Diego area. We especially enjoy Carver's steak restaurant nearby. The owners are very nice and accommodating and the property management folks very responsive to any needs. There is a set of maps and brochures for attractions in the San Diego area, including many golf courses. It is a great place to stay!Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, sightseeing.
Owner response: Tom & Ann — It's great to have you stay with us for your regular trips to the San Diego area and been so nice to make "long-distance" friends. Thank you and we look forward to having you each year!

E-mail received from guests, shared with permission: We just wanted to send you a little note to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay in your Rancho Bernardo home. The neighbourhood is beautiful and your home was certainly well appointed and met every expectation. We really appreciated how organized you are and your efforts to help acquaint us with the area. We made use of the temporary membership at the Bernardo Heights Recreation Center with which we were very impressed and found the staff there very accommodating as well. We found the location to be perfect in that it is centrally located and we were never more than an hour's drive from any of the sights we wanted to visit. Thank you again for making our winter getaway so enjoyable.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
