Location: Wallingford, Seattle, Washington State, USA (45th st. and Wallingford, seattle) View Map
Accommodations: House, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths (Sleeps 4-6)
Charming bungalow in Wallingford (less than 6 miles from city center) - one of Seattle's best neighborhoods, nestled between Fremont and the University District. The house is within walking distance of several restaurants and coffee shops, two movie theaters, grocery store, banks, shops, and bars. Walk down the hill to the south to Gas Works Park on the northern shore of Lake Union with views of downtown and the Space Needle. Or walk north to Green Lake, one of the most popular parks in the city with rental boats, tennis courts, baseball diamonds, a city 9-hole golf course, community swimming pool, and a 3-mile walking trail around the lake.
The house is only a 10-minute drive to downtown locations such as Pike's Place Market, the Space Needle, several museums, Capitol Hill, Key Arena, both Safeco and Qwest fields, and to downtown ferries to Bainbridge Island or the Clipper to Victoria. It is only minutes away from the University of Washington and Seattle Pacific University, and the zoo. Bus service is within blocks.
The house was built in 1916 - it has a very private fenced-in back yard, a nice front porch, a soaking tub in the master bath, and a large living room. Two bedrooms contain queen beds; a hide-a-bed in the living room can accommodate two additional guests. Hardwood floors throughout. Street parking is plentiful. An ideal home for two couples to share or a family in town for a wedding, graduation, vacations, or reunions.
As I know plans change, I allow refunds up to 30 days before the occupancy period. For that reason, I have a waiting list for last minute cancellations. If the time period is listed on the calendar is "unavailable," you can request to be placed on the waiting list.
PLEASE NOTE: I will not have access to email in mid-October and may not be able to respond to your inquiries right away. Please check calendar, and if available, I'll reserve on first come, first serve basis.
OLYMPICS in Vancouver, BC in February! - a 2 1/2-hr train ride north of Seattle. Driving is also about 2 hours plus border crossing time which is extra and unpredictable.

The Unique Benefits at this House
The best part about this house is the neighborhood. There are two major roadways into downtown, plus numerous side streets (and three more bridges). But in the neighborhood, great restaurants are within walking distance: Tilth, Musashis, Eva's, Kisaku, Julias, Bizarros, Blue Star Pub, Tutta Bella, Murphy's Pub, Smash Wine Bar, Tangletown Pub, several Thai places and too many other restaurants and coffee houses to list. And you are close to other great neighborhoods like Fremont, Ballard, Phinney Ridge, Green Lake, Univeristy District and Eastlake.
Old school house with shops. Also, QFC for groceries, Bartells Rx, Pharmacia, numerous restaurants and bars
Great restaurants: Elysian Pub, Kisaku (excellent sushi), Eva's (elegant bistro), Luau (Hawaiian), Zoka (espresso), Hiroki (amazing bakery)
Owner's Map of Wallingford
I just returned from Iceland - photo at left is just before snowmachine ride on Vatnajokul Glacier. Renting out my home this summer has allowed me to travel a bit - next month Argentina.
I've lived in this house for about 16 years and it is a great place and neighborhood. The home was built in 1916. I miss it and plan to only rent it out in the summer (and during the Olympics this February in Vancouver!)
I grew up in Rhode Island and the Bay Area, then spent 14 years in Alaska, finally landing here in Seattle, the perfect combination of city, salt water, and mountains.
