Situated at the base of 14,017 foot high Wilson Peak and the Lizard Head Wilderness at an elevation of 9303 feet, this southwest-style home is set into the hillside overlooking a protected wildlife area and a stream and active beaver ponds stocked with trout. The lower unit features a 400 square foot greenhouse lush with tropical plants; palm trees, herb garden, green house dining, fully-equipped kitchen with island dining, den with stone wood burning fireplace and 32" Samsung high definition Premium Directv, XM Stereo, dining room seating for 6, Queen bed view bedroom, King bed view bedroom with HD TV and internet desk, two luxury baths each with six foot jacuzzi tubs, Maytag laundry, and outside flagstone patio with Grill Pro gas Bar B Que, outdoor dining and 250 gal. Either level or both may be available for rent.

A great place for fly fishing, hunting, horseback riding, skiing, and snowmobiling. The ranch has year round access on one of the best mesa roads in the county. Year Purchased: 1978
About the owner: I am a 65 yr old veteren of the US Army MPC, Korea 69-70, have a BA in Business Administration '68. I am a cattle rancher, horse rider, sailor, skier, hunter, advanced first aider, hunter, construction contractor and home designer. I designed and built Rancho Deluxe. I broker sail charters and resort bookings worldwide and I am a certified Tahiti Tourisme Tiare Agent. I have traveled extensively through out the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico and French Polynesia. I grew up in Santa Barbara Ca. and moved here from 6 yrs in Aspen in 1977 to build a solar house for a friend. I have a 19 yr old daughter at Southern Oregon University and a girlfriend in Covington, La.

I found the perfect site for an earth sheltered solar home and ranch near a great ski area and there has been a good rental market for the house I live in.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
I can view wildlife daily; elk, deer, beaver, ducks, geese, coyotes and sometimes bears etc. I get 8 1/2 hrs of sun on Winter Solstice, I have spring water from the tap. I have comfortable furnitue and beds. There is very little road traffic. It is extremely quite here. The atmosphere is unpolluted and pristine. The star viewing is great. It is only a 20 minute drive to Telluride and skiing and great restaurants. I have access to the National Forest and Wilderness Primative area. I have three main fenced areas for my horses and 5 water rights with great irrigation. I manage 600 acres for a cattle operation and have low taxes as an agricultural property. I have a greenhouse with lawn, herbs and tropical plants year round. I have parking for 2000 cars and the best access on the most scenic roads in the state. The view in all directions is spectacular. I have high defintion tv and internet, cell phone and land line. I can soak in my Hot Spring Spa while viewing 14,017 ft Wilson Peak or the star show at night. I have a freezer full of organic ranch beef, elk, deer, trout and a wild turkey. I have access to airports to fly out. I have a home office.
