"Very inviting, warm and comfortable. Owner made it easy for us to have a toddler by making a safety gait and baby bed available. Great views and easy to walk to town and enjoy the wintry weather. Definitely would recommend this property which is close to lots of recreational outings."

  • Perfect Getaway and Fantastic Host

"We found this gem while searching for an alternative to the cabins at Warm Lake and could not have been happier with our stay. Paula greeted us as we pulled in and assured us she was available to get us anything we needed during our stay, however there was nothing that we lacked at Skyflower. The kitchen was not only stocked with utensils and pots, but we had a cabinet full of spices, as well as a pantry of several items stocked by Paula and left by past guests. The beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was also stocked with supplies. The cabin has a nice firepit outside with several chairs and roasting spits for use, and is located just minutes away from the boat dock. Paula even let us park the boat across the street in her turn around so we didn't have to park it on the sloped driveway. We will definitely be back next summer, and have even talked with Paula about booking a retreat in Jan or Feb for a girls' getaway."

  • Family trip to Sun Valley

"We had never been to Sun Valley before, and we were so happy we went. My wife and I and our four elementary school age kids had a fantastic time -- horseback riding, hiking, swimming, rafting, fly fishing, paddleboarding, mountain biking,.... This condo was a great place to stay. It was just as advertised. The owner was very helpful before the trip when we spoke over the phone, emailed, etc. The place was very clean and had everything we needed. When we first flew into Boise it was 102 degrees outside, so we were nervous, since I knew the place did not have a pool (we figured the hot tub was not going to be a big draw this week). Luckily, the condo has air conditioning, and it worked well. We slept comfortably every night. The local YMCA had a great pool, though we hung out at a friend's outdoor pool in Elkhorn, and really loved spending one day wading in the clean and fast flowing river behind the condo, and swimming much of a day in Redfish Lake an hour or so away. Normally, we do not like to leave Maine in the summer, as it is incredible at this time of year, but Sun Valley was a blast, with jaw-dropping scenery, so we will no doubt come again, maybe next time to ski."

Idaho Travel Tips

Season to Visit Idaho Vacation Rentals

Idaho’s climate varies in accordance with its terrain and is therefore quite different in different parts of the state. The southern low lying regions enjoy warm summers with hot days and balmy nights. Most rainfall occurs during the summer season in this area and rain showers are generally quite short-lived. For many of the lake areas in the south, summer is the preferred time of year to book one of our Idaho rentals. The warm days allow the kids to enjoy playing in the lake waters and enjoying a wide variety of water sport activities. The mountain areas, full of great Idaho cabin rentals, are much cooler and receive heavy snowfall between December and March each year. This provides ideal snow skiing conditions for the many ski resorts.

Activities at Idaho Cabin Rentals

Idaho is home to many scenic lakes. Within easy driving distance, there are at least six lakes which are all great vacation destinations. Facilities vary depending on the recreational classifications of the lakes but all offer great fishing opportunities. Most allow recreational boating including power boating and are ideal destinations for waterskiing, wake boarding and leisurely sunset cruises. Many cabins for rent in Idaho are located on the lakeshore, providing easy access to the water. Many have private docks where you can tie your boat up for the duration of your stay. For families, you can enjoy long summer days enjoying a wide variety of water sports. In the afternoon, you can go into town to buy ice cream and get some bait for an early morning fishing excursion the next day. The lakes are great for paddling and many marinas have kayaks available to hire. In the winter months, one of the most popular activities is snowmobiling. There are also many groomed trails for cross country skiing. In the mountain areas, there are a number of high-class ski resorts, particularly in the area of Sun Valley, where you can easily find great ski cabin rentals in Idaho.

Visitors to Idaho Vacation Rentals

Idaho is probably one of the lesser known vacation destinations. Most people think of it as the potato state and are unaware of the beautiful mountain ranges and lakes that make it an ideal vacation destination. It is a relatively affordable destination where vacation rentals in Idaho are large and spacious. This makes it an ideal destination for a family vacation. People who will enjoy Idaho are those who appreciate nature, beautiful scenery and the outdoors. There are many activities available in both summer and winter. It is a destination where you can relax, take a break from busy city life, and enjoy some quality time with your friends and family. The many lakes attract fishing enthusiasts from both near and far. Many of the communities hold annual fishing fests which are great events to attend.

Traveling to Idaho

The main access point to Idaho is in the Capital City of Boise which is located in the far southwestern corner of the state. To get to the northern parts of Idaho, the closest airport is Spokane International Airport which is located in the neighboring state of Washington. Both these airports host regularly scheduled flights from most major cities in North America. There is quite an extensive and well-maintained road network in Idaho and the best way to get to your vacation destination is usually by car. Rental agencies are located at the airports and it is advisable to make reservations in advance, especially over weekends and peak holiday periods. There are two transcontinental railroads that pass through Idaho. If you want to be able to enjoy the scenery, this is a great way to travel. Check up on the routing to see if the trains stop near your vacation destination.
