This non-smoking plantation style unit is located near Waimea Canyon (the Grand Canyon of the Pacific) and Barking Sands Beach, with convenient access to restaurants, movie theater, shops, markets, PMRF, and Na Pali boat tours. This unit has been recently redecorated and is loaded with amenities that will make you feel instantly at home.
It is adjacent to Kekaha Beach Park, a short walk away, and the start of 15 miles of nearly deserted white sand beach.
There is a large ocean view lanai, where you can enjoy a book or a meal, while waiting for another fantastic sunset over the ocean.
This property can be rented as a one bedroom, or with the addition of the adjacent studio room, it can become a spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit.

Great location near the beach and Waimea Canyon.
We loved this house. It's not overly modern but it's comfortable and tastefully decorated with everything you might need including beach gear. The lanai overlooks the beach and we feel asleep to the sound of waves. We awoke to the sound of roosters, but hey, this is Kauai. I highly recommend this place and especially the location in Kekaha. It's a nice local town with great access to Waimea Canyon, Ishihara market in Waimea for Poke, and Salt Pond Beach for family barbeques and swimming. The only negative impression we had were of some of the neighboring renters who got very uptight about parking when we pulled into the driveway to unload. They turned out to be perfectly nice in the end. Just pay attention to the directions about where you are supposed to park!
Steps away from Kekaha beach.
We stayed in this unit for a week. Since our activities involved hiking in Waimea valley area it is in a very convenient location for us. Though the house is close to the highway we didn't get a lot of noise. There is AC in the house but we didn't have to use it since the weather was just right even without it. Kitchen had all the necessary utensils that helped us cook our food when necessary. 5 min to nearby town. On the overall we enjoyed our stay.
An Authentic Kauau'i Experience
The location and condition of the property was exactly as described-- it is about as far from the tourist centers of Kauau'i as you can be-- in the last residential neighborhood on the southwest shore. The only thing beyond it was a military base and a state park. The closest town, Waimea, had a couple of grocery stores and some great food stand-type restaurants, but if you are looking for lots of souvenir shopping or fine dining options, this would not be a good choice for you. Th unit is across the road from the ocean shore, and we fell asleep each night to the sounds of crowing roosters and crashing waves. The property was nicely appointed and maintained. We rented an upstairs unit, and the A/C was appreciated when we returned from our adventures. (I would probably rent a downstairs unit if I returned). There was a laundry facility and a nice supply of beach toys (chairs, umbrellas, snorkeling gear, etc) for the patrons to use. Scott was great to work with-- responsive, with clear and timely communication. Case in point-- I contacted him when we discovered that the cable TV didn't work in our unit, so he let us die hard Green Bay Packer fans access a different unit on game day to catch the game. He had the cable fixed the next day. Its a great place for access to Waimea canyon and Polihale State Park. Its a bit of ride to the north shore (not distance so much as traffic that makes the journey longer than expected). If I ever get back to Kauau'i, I would definitely return to this location and property.
beautiful view, quiet, relaxing
This was a lovely vacation rental, clean, nice decor, well equipped (best equipped kitchen I have ever had in a rental like this). Bed was comfy, bathroom small but functional. We were just 2, but there is access to another room, bathroom, kitchenette, if needed for a larger family. Access to the ocean right across the street, with a beach 5 min walk down the road. Bikes available for your use are a great addition. Also beach chairs and boogie boards. Everything is quite close by in Kauai, Waimea is only 10min drive away, with groceries and a few restaurants. Waimea canyon is a must see, breathtaking, Grand Canyon of Hawaii. Drive up to the North Shore for a day trip is fun. Eating meals out on the lanai was a favourite spot for us, with the sound of the surf, and the lovely garden to look at. The stars at night are beyond description!
Stayed for a week end of Feb /17. Great spot meters from the beach. We enjoy the quieter less touristy locations and this is it. All you need in Waimea a few minutes drive away. We enjoyed the local markets in Kekaha and Waimea, travelled to the Canyon and blended with the locals during their weekend events and celebrations". The unit is as described in the VRBO add and has everything you need for an enjoyable get away. Longer term residents in front and below were great as well. Beautiful sand beach in front and evening ocean view from Lanai. If the beach is the focus of your holiday you will enjoy this unit. Would definitely return again.

This is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for laid back vacation with all the comforts of home, beach walks and gorgeous sunsets! You'll be on 'Island Time' in no time! The unit itself has an efficient kitchen with full size appliances, an updated bathroom, large bedroom and open living room that leads to the lanai. I enjoyed watching the whales, dolphins and passing catamarans while eating meals on the lanai. FYI- don't miss the stargazing at night from the lanai- it's amazing! It's a short walk down the driveway for daily beach walks and fantastic sunset views. I recommend a trip to Polihale State Park (provided you have the proper vehicle to get you there) and a trip up to Waimea Canyon, both just a short drive away. The common laundry area has a newer washer and dryer and plenty of beach chairs. This is a great place to stay for 1-4 people if you want to use the 2nd bedroom which also has a small kitchenette and full bathroom. I look forward to staying there again!
