Space 2,250 sq ft
Property type house
Minimum Stay 4 nights

About the property

House, 4 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 3 Baths, (Sleeps 8)

Set on over an acre of peaceful country property in the heart of Sonoma Valley, this wine country retreat is a private getaway. The freeform, saltwater pool, outdoor barbecue romantic get away or a shared family vacation. The extensive grounds of our country cottage make it suitable for family vacations, girls weekends, or any weekend get-a-way for a group of friends.

Get a taste of wine country living by cutting fresh lavender and roses from our flower gardens to decorate your dinner table. Pick fruit in season from Pear, Plum and fig trees, add island, and multiple patios create a beautiful backyard setting with view of the neighboring vineyards. Make it a cozy color and flavor to your salads with tomatoes and herbs from our organic, raised bed gardens. Sip wine and drink in the view of some of the wine country’s most beautiful sunsets from the back deck or under the shade trees. Later, you’ll want to experience why Sonoma is called the “Valley of the Moon”. Grab a sweater and wait for the stars to come out. Far from the city lights they light up the sky and magnify the full moon until it appears you can reach out and touch it.

Just 2 miles from the Town of Sonoma and the Historic Sonoma Plaza you will experience the “country feel” but still be close to town and restaurants. Inside you will find a fully appointed kitchen with granite counters that is open to the family room. With hardwood floors, a stone fireplace and vaulted ceilings, you can enjoy beautiful views and sunsets from the french doors or the back deck. Entertain and relax by the pool, outdoor BBQ and private, fenced yard. Play Ping Pong or Bocci ball in the back lawn or read your favorite novel in the quiet, private setting.

With four bedrooms, the home sleeps 8 comfortably. There are two master suites with King beds, each with a private bath, and one with a cozy window seat and french doors to the deck and pool area. The third bedroom has a Queen Bed and shares a hall bath with the fourth bedroom that has two twin beds, the twin beds can seamlessly be converted to a third King bed.

Take advantage of the formal dining room for entertaining or share more informal meals and snacks at the counter and in the family room or on the patio by the pool.

The family room is equipped with Cable TV that includes HBO, STARZ, CINEMAX, SHOWTIME and more. We also have a DVD/CD Player and a large, flat screen television. For outdoor music and entertaining we have a SONOS music system that is controlled by and IPAD that is provided for guest use. You may also download the SONOS app and control it from your smart phone.

For the day to day, an Iron, washer and dryer, as well as hair dryers for each bedroom are included.

You can walk, bike, or drive to local Sonoma Wineries. Add a day to stroll down shaded streets with historic homes and shop and wine taste at the Historic Sonoma Plaza, dine in some of the wine countries best restaurants all just 2 miles away. Both the Napa Valley and Marin County are just a short 10 to 20 minute drive.

Get a relaxing massage or spa treatment at one of many spas in Sonoma, Napa or Calistoga. For a more romantic occasion choose to have your massage right at your country cottage, next to the sparkling pool, under the shade trees, overlooking the beautiful surrounding vineyard.

A couple of local favorites are the Tuesday Night Market held on the Sonoma Plaza (starts 5pm mid April thru October). Enjoy local produce, flowers, crafts and music. Bring a bottle of wine and picnic in the historic Sonoma Plaza park! From April – October you can also enjoy the Summer Music Festival and Fool Truck Fridays at Sebastiani Winery. Food Truck Fridays are the last Friday of the month.

For race fans, Sonoma Raceway is just a 10 minute drive down beautiful Hwy 121. Sun and racing by day, romance and candle light by night!

Visit Bodega Bay, Dillon Beach and the beautiful Sonoma County Coast Line. Or drive to San Francisco to shop, dine and site see. You can be to both of these destinations in an hour or less.

Check out the City of Sonoma website and plan to come for one of the many special events Sonoma offers. Just to name a few, Sonoma Valley Film Festival, The Red and Ball, Bottle Rock, Broadway Under the Stars or one of the local Shakespeare performances.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This was the perfect site for the wedding of my dreams. The house and its owners were very warm, welcoming and accommodating. The ceremony took place under a canopy of grape vines and the reception overlooked beautiful flowers, vineyards and an unbelievable sunset. The perfect mixture of the charm of the country and the class and romance of the Napa Valley wine country.

Perfect choice for our stay in Sonoma!

  • 5 of 5

Truly a lovely home. This home feels more like a home than a rental home. High quality everything. Very well appointed and extremely comfortable. Our family loved the open kitchen/family room layout. Bedrooms and bathrooms are all comfortable and amply equipped with towels and linens. Even robes! Four bedrooms, three full bathrooms- perfect for couples and families. There are tons of amenities on this property that we couldn’t use to due to weather and scheduling constraints, but it was lovely knowing they were there. A little more than 2 miles from Sonoma Square in a very quiet area surrounded by farms and other homes, this place should be at the top of your list if you are looking for a vacation spot in Sonoma.

Near Perfect Stay

  • 5 of 5

No complaints at all. The only distraction was the weather, so no fault of the accommodations. The place was clean, very good condition, and roomy, even for 3 couples and we all felt safe and secure there, as there was minimal traffic and we never really saw any other people in the area, as it is somewhat remote. The grounds were neatly kept and very spacious. Wished we could have stayed longer and took more advantage of the outdoor space. Kitchen as well as outdoor cooking area worked great for the meals we created. Newer on-site laundry machines very convenient. We really enjoyed our stay as well as the activities in the surrounding area. This will be put on our list of places to return without hesitation. On a side note, try the "On Tap Beer Tour" out of Santa Rosa. We highly recommend it!

Absolutely amazing!

  • 5 of 5

This house is a amazing! We could not have asked for a more wonderful home to spend our vacation at. From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed. We were greeted by neighbors who offered us fresh peaches from their garden. We picked our own spices from the herb, tomato and zucchini garden and had a great bbq! The house is in tip-top condition. Very nicely decorated and clean. Pool, bocce and ping-pong table are in incredible condition. Also, the playlist on the iPad that comes with the house is AMAZING!!!!! Hope to stay at this house again, but if not, definitely would recommend it to a friend!

This was the best rental house I have ever stayed in

  • 5 of 5

This house was in a perfect location and had everything you could ever want. The outdoor areas were awesome, the house was furnished well and has lots of character. Sitting outside in evening was just great. Kim was so nice. I could have stayed forever and we will definitely be back. We had great time at all the wineries we visited (Domaine, Goosecross, Stoneycreek, Bouchaine, Kunde, and Ben at Idle). Great food experiences cooking at the house and at Cafe Chitti and Boon Fly! Our experience at Girl and Fig was awful and no one should go there.
