Pine Cone Quiet 1 bedroom retreat

Bedrooms 1
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Cabin, 1 bedroom + Loft, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4)

First let me start by saying this is not a glamorous cabin. We have done upgrades that we hope make the cabin comfortable and nice for our guests. I like to say it's more like glamping. You are in a camping atmosphere with comforts of home. We seem to have guests from time to time who give this cabin a 1 star rating, I'm not sure what they are expecting from a small 1 bedroom cabin in the woods that rents for $95.00 a night. The cabin is on a quarter acre corner lot. The lot is filled with beautiful trees. There is a fire pit located to the right in the front of the cabin, so just pull up some chairs and enjoy roasting marshmallows in the great outdoors. There is also a wonderful hammock to enjoy the outside amongst the trees. The three adjacent lots behind the property is a green belt. Lots of privacy.

The cabin is a 1 bedroom with loft and sleeps 4.

The cabin is walking distance to the lake and Sugar Pine National Park. Take a walk to the kids play ground and enjoy a meal while the kids play. In the summer they have an outside theater at the park (check posted dates and movie titles listed at the park) and in Tahoe city for free, just pick up a Tahoma weekly for the Tahoe City movie listings. It's great family fun. Homewood ski resort is about a mile away and we're located in between both casino areas of the Nevada State Line and South Lake Tahoe. A short distance to Sunny Side Restaurant.

You may also enjoy the other ski resorts that are located about 20 minutes away. Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadow.

Summer also offers endless bike and hiking trails. A short drive to one of Tahoe's most beautiful beaches at Meeks Bay, featuring various boat rentals, a snack bar and free air station for your inflatables. We made sure our cabin is part of Tahoma's homeowner’s association which offers a pier and beach within a short walking distance. Sugar Pine Point State Park is just yards away for great cross country skiing, hiking and mountain biking. The entrance to the world famous Rubicon Trail is also a close distance from our cabin. Come enjoy all the fun that awaits you in Tahoma year round.

NO smoking inside property.

Absolutely stunning little property it's cute and quaint and in such a lovely area, the natural wildlife that is around is amazing to see including the bear that walked past he window!! I'd recommend this place to anyone in a heartbeat that wanted somewhere slightly off the beaten track and wanted that quiet little place to stay for a few days.

Owner's Response: Thank you for the wonderful review, sounds like you had a great time in our little cabin. How exciting you were able to see one of our Tahoma bears, many people go out searching in hopes of bear sightings but the bear came to you. I'm sure that was a thrilling experience, one you will always remember! We hope that you choose to stay with us again in the future. Sincerely, Bonnie

Fantastic Place!

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic cabin! It is a lot larger than it looks from the outside and had plenty of room for myself, boyfriend, and great dane! Very well stocked and close enough to everything. The place was clean and the owner responded with any questions in a very quick manner.

The bathroom is on the small side but for the price, convince, and amenities, you cant ask for more. We will defiantly stay again if we come back to the area.

Second time staying. Looking forward to the third. Love the new flooring. Great to be able to take long walks right out your door. Thanks again for sharing your little piece of paradise.

Cute comfortable cabin near Homewood

  • 5 of 5

This was a great little cabin to stay in. It was warm and comfortable, with a full kitchen. We like to ski at Homewood, and it's just a few minutes drive from the slopes!

Nice, little cabin

  • 4 of 5

We stayed here with our 2-year old son and had a great time. The cabin is small yet it has everything you need. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is enough room for a small family. The location is just awesome, very close to the slopes, the lake and other sites. I recommend it especially if you're on a budget; it's hard to find anything affordable in this area. The only minor suggestions I have for the owner is to change the mattress in the small bedroom downstairs because it's very soft (maybe some people will find it nice though). Also, I understand that many quests like to mess with the heating, windows and like to check out late but, in my opinion, it'd be nice to make the those signs a little less "aggressive". Thanks for letting us stay in your awesome cabin!

Quiet getaway

  • 5 of 5

An updated and super cozy cabin tucked back in the trees. We had a great time exploring the surrounding area and relaxing in the loft. Perfect little size for a couples retreat, but can also sleep several more people if necessary.

About Bonnie Bunyan-Naulty

We are a married couple with four children. we live near the Sacramento area.

Bonnie Bunyan-Naulty purchased this cabin in 2005

Why Bonnie Bunyan-Naulty chose Tahoma

My family when I was a little girl used to visit the West Shore area in Tamoma and we loved it. I had such great memories of the times we visited there that I wanted to give my own children the same experiences.
