Pat has been an Intensive Care Nurse for over 29 years at the local hospital. She is also a stained glass artisan and has made many Tiffany style lamps and windows over the years. She loves to cook and provides homemade treats for renters. Carey is a retired carpenter. He is a singer, songwriter and guitarist. He enjoys writing novels and "blogs" in his retirement. Why they chose this property

We love to host people from all over America and the world. We are privileged to live in "God's country" and are happy to share the blessing of living in the mountains of western North Carolina. We are close to downtown and Appalachian State University (10 minutes, 3 miles) but our lovely wooded neighborhood provides respite from "big city" life for our visitors.

What makes this property unique

We provide a "light" breakfast the first morning of our guest's stay. Homemade muffins, Quaker (flavored) oatmeal, granola bars and Starbucks coffee, Celestial Seasonings tea(s) with flavored creamers, sugar and honey, Land 'O Lakes hot cocoa mixes and sparkling water. Our guests also enjoy a giant homemade chocolate chip coffee and Lindor truffles with Ghirardelli or Ferrero Rocher chocolates on arrival to our home!
