All interior doors are solid wood and afford extra sound proofing. Of the 3 bedrooms, 2 are master sized with quality queen beds and the 3rd bedroom has 2 new twin beds and a sofa bed. Also, have inflatable mattress. Great for family reunions and the kids room is tucked away on the front of the home. The master bedroom, great room and kitchen overlook the creek. For a romantic chilly day snuggle up next to the fireplace, read your book or ours, watch a movie on TV or from our movie library, take a nap, or sip hot chocolate. GUARANTEED RELAXATION and you never have to move from your favorite spot. If you want to tour or take advantage of the wonderful amenities offered to you here just.......

FISH, FISH, FISH your troubles away in our noisy creek stocked by the TVA. Fish for dinner to Barbeque on the grill by the creek. Pan for gold with the equipment provided or go to Franklin, NC where you can mine for gold and gems (it is free in the creek). Cool down in the creek and have some watermelon on the picnic table while you relax in the shade. Rock all your cares away in the rockers, hammocks and hammock chairs. You might try Fires Creek for a free tubing experience, hiking trail, waterfalls, and great picnic area. If you aren't relaxed when you leave, we will be shocked. THINK POSH RETREAT!!!!!!! Owner info

Year Purchased: 2010

About the owner: We have retired to the mountains of North Carolina and, Trust Us, we only live in beautiful places. We live in this area and think we have found Paradise in our charming town of Murphy. We came to visit and vacation here and just had to stay. Our home is pet friendly for we have two golden retrievers (THE GOLDEN GIRLS) that are the loves of our lifes. I am sure if you travel with your pets, they are also your children. Our 5 grandchildren think this is the best place in the world and we agree. It is so centrally located and after 12 years we are still exploring and finding new adventures. My husband's advocation is photography and he has enjoyed photographing all the wonders of nature in the area. Some of his photos are in the home. He won lst place in the GA Mountain Fair several years ago and won 2nd place last year. The fair is in July and is an adventure not to be missed if you are here. Fun for the entire family in Hiawassee GA.

Why the Owner Chose Murphy, NC, USA:
We came to visit here in 1997 and we fell in love. The next visit we found ourselves buying property and building a house here. What we love the most is the ever changing nature around us. We are always mesmerized by the sound of water and when we found this wonderful new home on a rushing creek we decided to buy it to share our piece of paradise in Murphy with others to enjoy. My husband said that the mountains are in my Scottish/Irish DNA and I would have to agree. As the saying goes 'You are nearer to GOD in the mountains than any other place on earth.'

The Unique Benefits at this Chateau / Country House:
The small town feeling where everybody waves and the deep history in this area is fascinating. The area where this home is located is where the last battle of the Civil War was fought on May 6th, 1865. This was an Indian Reservation and the Trail of Tears history can be found at our local museum. The folklore is long and interesting. All you have to do is ask and listen. A free performance every Friday night in the open air pavilion at John C Campbell folk school should not be missed. About a mile from the property is a monument to a Forge that was located here in 1839.
