Tranquilo, acogedor refugio de montaña! Acceso cercano al lago Hiwassee, NUEVA hoguera al aire libre

¿Necesitas un descanso de la realidad? ¿Las montañas te están llamando para una escapada tranquila y pacífica? ¿Hora de un año sabático? Retiro de fijación de objetivos? Fin de semana de chicas? ¿Solo ustedes dos? Ya sea que viaje solo o en grupo, venga a rejuvenecer en nuestra pequeña cabaña tranquila con vistas al lago y un hermoso entorno montañoso.

En Morning Glory Cottage puedes disfrutar de la tranquila salida del sol desde nuestro porche de pantalla completa. Por la noche, camine un poco para experimentar la puesta de sol a través del Bosque Nacional Nantahala y termine la noche disfrutando de la hoguera al aire libre con amplios asientos.

Contamos con 3 dormitorios y 2 baños completos. El nivel principal no tiene escalones desde el camino de entrada a la casa y cuenta con 2 dormitorios, 1 king y 1 queen, y un baño completo con ducha a ras de suelo. Perfecto para huéspedes de todas las edades y habilidades físicas. El nivel principal también tiene una cocina completamente equipada, sala de estar con chimenea de leña (¡y arranque de gas!) y porche de larga duración. El nivel inferior cuenta con una sala de televisión, dormitorio con cama king, baño completo con ducha y bañera con patas, lavadero y porche cubierto de cuerpo entero.

Morning Glory Cottage se encuentra en la comunidad Bear Paw del lago Hiwassee, donde se unen Carolina del Norte, Tennessee y Georgia (que no debe confundirse con la ciudad de Hiawassee, Georgia, en el lago Chatuge). Estamos a 30 minutos al oeste de Murphy, Carolina del Norte y a 2 horas en automóvil de Atlanta GA, Chattanooga TN, Knoxville TN y Asheville NC.

The view to the lake through autumn leaves was awesome. Bear Paw Community is friendly and very peaceful. My dog and I walked all over, she seldom had to come and be leashed up for traffic. Deer, chipmunks, squirrels. The interior looks as advertised, minus rugs and plus slipcovers which might be because we were traveling with a dog. Kitchen is reasonably stocked - seasonings, extras. No cooking oil and sorry, w/ the price of EVOO, I didn't leave it behind! Thirty plus minutes to the store.

Peace and Serenity

The house itself is very nice and equipped with anything you might need, but the best feature is the view from the screen porch. You can see the lake. Not a clear view but beautiful through the tree tops. I've never been anywhere so quiet. All we heard were birds and an occaisonal boat. The wifi was down and cell service is very spotty, but a blessing to get away from there. Can't wait to return.

Morning Glory Cottage

This is an ideal home for family and friends with complete amenities for everyone’s comfort. The porch was a favorite to hang out listening to nature and music. The lake made a beautiful view with the sunrise and sunset. Definitely want to stay again. Sheree is a wonderful host as we arrived early and she was very accommodating. Thank you dear lady!

A Hidden Mountain Retreat

I’ve been traveling to the N Ga Mountains for years and never knew about this community. I would advise anyone who wants some peace and quiet to choose your cabin. The views are beautiful, both inside and out. The description and pictures given in the listing do not bring justice to what your eyes will see. My family and I look forward to returning.

Great Cabin and Amenities

We loved Morning Glory! It is in a secluded community on the Hiwassee Lake. The cabin had everything that you need to enjoy during your stay. My parents and our son took the main level bedrooms and my husband and I stayed in the basement. The furnishings are nice and there are 2 large TVs in living areas with streaming service. My son watched Netflix downstairs while we enjoyed TV upstairs. The screened in porch is the jewel of the property! We sat out there enjoying the peace and quiet most of the time. It's a tree house view of the woods and lake. There are cabins on both sides but there are nice curtains to pull across the end for privacy. We brought our dog with us so we walked up and down the road multiple times a day with her. We saw rabbits and deer daily and the sunsets at the top of the hill are amazing! The downstairs bedroom had plenty of space for her large crate and we enjoyed being able to come into the house thru the screened porch with her. The kitchen has everything except for your food. We knew that Murphey is about a 40 minute drive so running to the grocery store wasn't convenient. We brought everything with us and cooked every night. The pool was awesome and had plenty of chairs. It did end up closed for maintenance the last couple of days so I'm glad we went at the 1st of the week. We had a great time and hope to return in the future. The owners were easy to contact and very nice. Morning Glory is a wonderful place!

Beautiful view, amazing location!

The listing is not joking when it says it's 40 minutes from everything. It is DEEP in the Bear Paw community, sitting almost at the very top of a gorgeous mountainside. The cabin itself is very quiet and secluded, with a super clean, homey feel. Sheree and their partner(s) were very responsive to all our questions and we never had a single issue with anything. If you are looking for a relaxing mountain getaway with a very nice view, I would highly recommend this place. If we return to the Murphy area, I know where I'm looking first!

We enjoyed the Morning Glory cottage. The bed and furniture was comfy, everything was clean and as promised and the view from the porches was amazing. Host was quick to respond and helpful. Property was pretty remote but in a nice gated community, Roads to home were narrow and curvy. Be prepared.

North Carolina Vacation

We loved this property. It was close to other cities but also far away enough to feel unplugged. The property was very clean and had all of the amenities we needed. The marina that is in the same community is great and we had a lot of fun renting a boat and knee boarding. I would certainly recommend it to anyone

Amazing mtn experience

Beautifully appointed place with the flexibility to allow for guests with limited mobility or for a group to separate upstairs and downstairs. The best part for me was the details provided on each room and the packing list. Communication was excellent and hosts are wonderful!

Fall Getaway

My daughter, son-in-law, and I spent a week at Morning Glory Cottage the last week of October. It was wonderful! We found the cabin to be very clean and well-appointed. The location and view were wonderful! I’ve never seen more beautiful mountains with the trees showing off their beautiful colored leaves! The screened porch was a big hit for my daughter! Even on the chilly mornings she would wrap up in a blanket and sit on the porch to read and enjoy her morning coffee. I would definitely recommend this amazing cabin, and we will definitely come again.

Serenity, Peace & Relaxation

I can't say enough about the owners of this true cottage in the woods. Their home is perfect for a relaxing, quiet, beautiful time of renewal. We spent a month here from late September thru late October and enjoyed it tremendously. From the remoteness away from other people, to everything provided for a relaxing stay, to the immediate attention to any question or need. This is absolutely the best experience we've had renting in the mountains. Truly phenomenal view from the oversized screened porch. Comfortable furniture, beds, well stocked kitchen, great washer and dryer. We didn't use the fireplace as the weather was too warm. Our hosts were kind enough to trust us in bringing our two cats. Although they are well behaved, don't scratch furniture, have flea and tick protection; no one except this host would rent to us. Cats have a bad and undeserved reputation. For the majority of the day, they lay on the porch watching the wildlife. We are so grateful to have found this dream, a vacation for us and our girls. This is a fabulous place for any group or family. We didn't drive anywhere after dusk. Not being familiar with driving in the mountains after dark, we arranged to be home before dark. Everything else was perfect.

Sister's Birthday Weekend

This was the cleanest, most comfortable place we have stayed probably ever. The care put into every detail to ensure our comfort & enjoyment was obvious and greatly appreciated. Hello! We are a mother (Sheree) daughter (Stacey) team and we live in the Atlanta area. We work hard managing our work lives and personal lives. We especially enjoy our down time with family and friends.

Morning Glory is truly our happy place and our respite from work, school and "busy" lives.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

Our family has enjoyed vacationing in Bear Paw and on Lake Hiwassee since 2004 when my brother and his wife bought a house on the lake. Later they built a house to rent and later sold. Then in 2016 my dad and brothers built a family vacation home

In 2017 during a family reunion in Bear Paw we learned this house was for sale by owner. We peeped in the windows, prayed about it and called the owners. It didn't take long for the four of us - Sheree & Clint, Stacey & Mike - to decide it was the right time and the right property. October 2017 it became our dream. We immediately began sprucing up this sweet home that had been empty for years as a retreat for young and old to rest and rejuvenate.
Stacey quickly named her Morning Glory Cottage.
In 2024, we started our porch expansion allowing for some amazing stargazing!

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Because Clint and I have parents who were not able to easily climb stairs the first thing to draw us to Morning Glory was the stepless entry. Bear Paw is in the mountains so most houses require a lot of stairs and steep inclines to the house. At Morning Glory, you can drive to the front door and there is one little ramp step into the house. Super easy for unloading too.

We also love that the main level has 2 bedrooms (king and queen), full bath with walk-in shower, den, kitchen and our very, very favorite - full-length screen porch. This allowed our parents (and some day us) to enjoy a nice vacation with ease.

Speaking of screen porch... the views of the lake and the mountains reminded us of sitting in a treehouse when we were young... without the climbing or swaying parts :-)

In 2022, we renovated the lower level to expand the media room so now there are 2 very comfortable areas for watching movies, playing games and sitting outside to enjoy the quiet views.

Bear Paw is a quiet, secluded community where you just hear the trees rustle in the summer and occasionally a boat passing on the lake. When real life gets so loud and you just need to be quiet and rest, come stay with us!
