Welcome to Mountain Laurel Cabin

Relax and unwind in our newly remodeled, cozy mountain cabin, tucked away on 2 private wooded acres with a beautiful acre-size fishing pond. If peace and tranquility are what you’re seeking, you’ve found it. Secluded enough to truly get away from it all, yet just 20 minutes from town, the cabin is perfectly located for both adventure and relaxation.

Enjoy your morning coffee on the fully screened-in porch, listening to birdsong and watching wildlife like deer and native birds wander by. Spend your days exploring the outdoors, fishing for bass or bream from the private dock (catch & release; please bring your own gear), or simply relaxing with a good book. Evenings are perfect for a campfire and s’mores, porch time, or a friendly game of horseshoes or cornhole.

Inside, the cabin is comfortably furnished and thoughtfully equipped with modern conveniences. The open-floor-plan chalet design features floor-to-ceiling windows, filling the space with natural light and forest views. The loft bedroom offers a king bed, blackout curtains and a newly remodeled en-suite bath, while the main-floor bedroom features a queen bed, blackout curtains, with peaceful woodland views. Both bathrooms has been thoughtfully updated with a live-edge countertop, adding a timeless rustic touch inspired by the surrounding mountains. Linens, towels, soaps, and paper goods are provided.

The fully remodeled kitchen includes granite countertops, hickory cabinets, new appliances, and everything you need to prepare anything from a simple breakfast to a gourmet meal. The dining table seats four comfortably. The living room offers cozy seating, a 42” Smart TV, provided YouTube TV, and a gas fireplace. Guests are welcome to log into personal streaming apps—just please remember to sign out before checkout.

One of our guests’ favorite features is the screened-in porch, offering exceptional outdoor living space rain or shine.

The cabin is absolutely wonderful-- everything we could have hoped for. Fully equipped for cooking which we did on a few days with easy access to great restaurants which we also enjoyed. It's also an amazing location for excursions to hiking trails in any direction. Every day we'd made it back by about sunset and then just enjoyed movies by the fireplace or sat out by the fire pit in pure peaceful bliss.Everything was nicely labeled, easy to find, and spotless. Would absolutely go here again.

Great stay at the cabin in the woods. Fantastic fire ring outside surrounded by lush trees and outdoor lighting and covered split wood storage. We had fun tossing corn hole and fishing in the small pond at the bottom of the cabin. Cabin was perfect, small and quaint. Close to Lake Chatooge and town...

This property is by far the best cabin we’ve stayed in, and we’ve stayed in a lot. Super close to everything 15 min to Ingles and Walmart. The pond is beautiful my sons fished with all the spare time we had lol. Very easy to get to, beds all really comfortable, they have literally everything you can think of if you forgot something they have it. Very well run property will definitely be back again.

Start to finish - from easy check-in to clear check-out - the cabin was just perfect. Location was private and features like the pond and screened in porch were highlights. Hot weather yet the inside temperature control made it comfortable. Highly recommend.

This was by far one of the best places i have ever stayed at, clean, quiet, and was exactly what was advertised. If your looking for a place to stay away from commercial tourists spots this is it. The only issue ( and really not a big issues) was the cleaner showed up about 15 minutes before checkout but promptly left when they realized i was still there. I'm definitely going to be booking again !!!

Wonderful cozy cabin with your own private pond to fish (catch&release) or just sit on dock and enjoy the beauty of nature. The cabin was very clean and provided basic supplies. Screened-in back porch over looking the pond has a nice gas grill. Fire pit area was perfect to sit around for a relaxing evening with horseshoes to play. Excellent place to stay especially if you love nature. Quiet and secluded, but close to town and an easy drive to the Great Smokey Mountains!

This was our third stay at the Mountain Laurel Cabin, and it never disappoints. Tucked away in peaceful Brasstown, the cabin is cozy, spotless, and perfectly equipped with all you need in the woods. The private acre-sized pond is a dream for fishing or just soaking in the quiet. We love its proximity to the Folk School and scenic trails. Welcome to my hometown. I grew up in the area and after a 30 year career that took me and my family across the United States, honestly there was No Place Like home, so I came home and Yes, you can come home again. This is the most magical place I've ever lived and I'm thrilled to hear how special it is to our guests and those who've never been here. So welcome and I hope you have a wonder vacation here as everyone is like family.

Why they chose this property

The cabin is tucked away on 2 private wooded acres with a beautiful acre-size fishing pond. If peace and tranquility are what you’re seeking, you’ve found it. Secluded enough to truly get away from it all, yet just 20 minutes from town, the cabin is perfectly located for both adventure and relaxation.

What makes this property unique

Super private and really close to our major attractions, the really neat part is that you'd never know it was here -honestly I grew up here and didn't have a clue this awesome area even existed - I drove past it hundreds of times.
