I am a retired school teacher and my husband is an industrial engineer. We own a cabin on this beautiful lake and purchased this cottage to rent.
This is a unique property... a cottage on a peninsula surrounded by water in three sides. it is the prettiest lot on the lake.
A lovely lake, very very private lake...three sides of water! No gas motors. Swim. Fish. Row. Hike. Relax. Watch the stars from your private deck.
Sunrise and sunset can be seen from this cottage.
This is the choice lot of the lake! It just doesn't get any better than this!
The cottage is quiet and private. However, it's located minutes from downtown Murphy and Harrah's Casino. Even though it was cloudy and rainy during our stay, we had time to relax and unwind. The Ullmans were just a phone call away if we needed anything. It was perfect.
Staying at the cottage at Lake Wells was a joy! All of the necessary conveniences were provided and the cottage was so very clean. We enjoyed the fishing (“big” catfish, bluegill, and bass were our catch of the day); the convenient, yet private location; the “comfy” bed; the water pressure of the shower; the panoramic view of the lake; and the conversations amidst the flame of the fireplace. There is a great outdoor fire pit, but due to the inclement weather, we were unable to take advantage of this. The kitchen was well stocked and all of the appliances worked. It was a very relaxing and enjoyable week.
Spent a few days here and we couldn't be happier with our stay. The lake is gorgeous and our dogs loved the large backyard. Next time we're in the area we will definitely try to stay here again.
I cannot begin to describe how this is the perfect lakefront home on a gorgeous lot with the best setting. The home is gorgeous, inside and out, comfortable, immaculately clean, ,and the deck and dock wonderfully suited to sitting outside watching geese, reading, doing nothing, swimming, and in best spot on the lake. The lot is quite large for dogs, children etc to play. Plenty of safe, beautiful, rural streets nearby to take your dog on long walks without having to get in the car. Everyone I met in this area on our walks was lovely. The home has absolutely everything you need. There is a great fire pit for families. I am a female traveling solo and this is the perfect house to feel absolutely safe and still enjoy solitude. My dog and I took day hikes into the many nearby national forests and the Murphy river walk. There are so many lakes, waterfalls, hikes within a 45 minute drive of this home I wished I was staying much longer. Nearby Downtown Murphy has a nice wine store, a book store, life's essentials to me. The owners left practical notes for operating TV/DVR which I appreciated. I could live in this home forever! I will definitely be back. I truly hated to leave.
Super private with a large lot perfect for my dog to swim. We used the canoe provided. Cottage is VERY nice, everything is fully updated. We've always stayed at more rustic cottages, this was by far the most luxurious. Full wrap around porch. The colors this time of year are simply too beautiful so say with words. There is a large family of Canadian Geese that obviously live on this lake and frequent many small peninsulas. It was clear that the geese used the property as one of these pit stops, but wouldn't with our big guy Jake there. He didn't go near them, and they didn't go near him. Great wooden swing in the shade of the trees and a super nice dock. Water was good for fishing and for our dog to swim, I am not sure if I would want to swim in it though. The tide was very low and it was very small. Cottage had everything you needed and more, we would definitely come back again. Owners were accessible and very nice, we really couldn't ask for anything more. It was lovely.

Our stay was delightful. Even though it's the end of October, Ken and I were able to enjoy the deck every day and barbecued a couple of times. The view of the lake and trees was awesome! It felt as though we were staying in a park. Autumn leaves carpeted the lawn, birds sang and geese flew. Relaxing week-hope to return next year!!
