Very pleasant !

  • 5 of 5

Sandpiper Village is an immaculately tended park-like setting, including a good-sized swimming pool and two gas grills for outdoor cooking. This Studio Condo there (#112B) contains a very large and very comfortable bed for a couple, with fridge and microwave for meal preparation, and large shower in the fully-tiled bathroom. Beaches for snorkeling and lush mountain trails for hiking are nearby, as is the Princeville Shopping Center for all your practical needs. Kauai’s trade-wind breezes keep the apartment perfectly comfortable night & day. You’ll want to stay longer!

A functional condo on a good location

  • 4 of 5

The instructions to come to the condo were not so clear. The condo is comfortable except the bed which was a little soft. The dishes should be renewed. One of the two snorkeling equipments was defective (no glass in the mask) so we could not go out snorkeling together.

Otherwise the condo is nice and was very clean.

We plan to come back to Kauai in a few years and hope to come back to your condo.

Great for a weekend

  • 4 of 5

We stayed just for the weekend. I would not want to do an extended stay because there is no a/c, no washer and dryer and no kitchen. Otherwise, it was great for the weekend. Some of the snorkel gear fins were damaged but it is really cheap to rent snorkel gear in the area. There were coolers, rain gear, boogie boards and towels for beach use. The location is beautiful and peaceful. Parking was not fun because when we would come back late at night most of the non marked parking was gone, but free parking is a good thing. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable which I value.

Perfect for what we needed

  • 4 of 5

We booked this unit for just before, during, and just after our backpacking trip on the Kalalau Trail. We wanted someplace inexpensive since we would not be there most of the nights. Given that local businesses offering storage run about $15 per bag per night and we had three bags, this was an economical alternative. We did not have to worry about rushing off the trail to get our bags from a business before it closed. It was just right, no more or no less than we needed. The unit has a microwave and small refrigerator and is stocked with paper towels, trash bags, etc. There are also drink cups and utensils. We did not have a huge problem with bugs like some other reviews. We did get a couple that come in from the lanai and went under the refrigerator, but this is the tropics and that is to be expected in any ground floor unit. Be careful about food and crumbs and you should not have a problem. Overall if you are staying for a long vacation you might want something more spacious and this is basically the size of a hotel room, but for quick trips or those on a tight budget, it is just right. If you book, ask the owner for specific directions to the exact unit as we did have a little trouble locating the unit once we arrived at the complex. The walkway to the unit was located next to a different parking space number than we were told, but it looked like they had been recently renumbered. Parking was limited but we were usually able to find a spot. Only once we had to park on the grass.

Great location!

  • 3 of 5

I am so thankful I blindly chose the north part of the island to stay. The room was in a good location, quick access to shopping and beaches. It is basic, but that is due to the price. It could use a little TLC to make sure things work.

About Adam and Megan Johnson

ALOHA! Our names are Adam and Megan.

Kauai, you had us at hello! We are IN LOVE with the island! We consider it our home away from home. We spent our honeymoon on the island and frequently come back. Some of our favorite things to do are kayak, hike, snorkel and explore this beautiful island. Kauai really is paradise.

Why Adam and Megan Johnson chose Princeville

We decided to purchase this property because of the airy feel of the unit. The many windows that you can open make you feel like you are outside. We also like being in Princeville because it is centrally located on the north shore, the gorgeous mountain and ocean scenery, and its proximity to the essentials.

What makes this condo unique

There is a newly renovated pool/jacuzzi/BBQ communal area.

There is a lot to do on Kauai, specifically on the north shore. Hanalei bay is a 10 minute drive. At the end of the Kuhio hwy is great snorkeling and the beginning of the Na Pali hiking trails. There is also a botanical garden near by and many caves and beaches to explore.
