Why diane kurzontkowski chose Bainbridge Island
we found these cottages and the location reminiscent of cape cod where we grew up - "sweep out" cottages, great for a romantic get-away or piling the whole family in. We love the location, warm in the summer protected from the northern winds, southwestern exposure for lovely sunsets. We like being able to walk 1 block to the movie theatre, bakery/deli, morning latte, 3 restaurants and a small grocery store. Our favorite activities include hiking and biking from the cottages.
What makes this Cottage unique
The cottages are so close to Seattle, a 35 minute ferry ride, but a world apart. Step back in time to your own classic cottages!

Cute cottage near a few restaurants and shops.
The cottage was quaint in the quiet area of pleasant beach. A beautiful water view with a pebbled beach in front. Incredibly relaxing to walk on the beach and watch all the birds flying by.
Cute cottage in a great location
Quaint 2 BR cottage with deck and landscaped yard with beautiful view overlooking Puget sound. Enjoyed using the fire pit on several cool evenings. Comfortable Queen bed. Short walk to Lynwood center for good restaurants, bakery, movie theater. Will return!
thank you! we love these cooler evenings which make for the perfect driftwood beachside fire :). glad you were able to enjoy - and sounds like you got to take advantage of all the delicious offerings right down the street at lynwood center too. we look forward to your return.

Charming waterfront cottage
We had a wonderful stay for the second year, and will definitely return.
We had a minor problem during our stay and Diane, the owner, was very attentive and took care of it immediately.
Thanks for the great accommodations! Jim and Sue Moses
Thank you. It is always special to have return renters - we love sharing the cottage and so happy that others feel at home and keep on returning. Thank you for your patience and understanding during the “minor problem”. Your graciousness was appreciated and I was glad to tend to it.
See you soon!

Heavenly Beach Front Retreat
Pleasant Beach Cottage, perched on the shores of Rich Passage, is a dream come true. This charming vintage home, with tasteful updates that have made it cozy and comfortable, make it the perfect retreat. Add in nearby Fort Ward Park and it's many beautiful hiking trails half-a-mile south; and Lynwood Town Center, complete with an excellent bakery, movie theatre and numerous good restaurants (we specifically recommend Beach House) half-a-block north; and the result can only be described as heavenly. Just as important is that Diane could not be a better host. She is gracious and generous, responds quickly to questions or problems, and clearly cares deeply about the guests experience. Thank you for making the summer of 2018 one of our best ever. We are already planning our return trip.
Lovely location, not a 5 star property
Enjoyed the location right on the water. Did not enjoy the absolutely filthy upholstery both indoors and outdoors. It's hard to be comfortable when there is nowhere to sit. Additionally, the kitchen lacked the basic elements to prepare meals. Would not return.
My sincere apologies for your experience. The outdoor cushions indeed were tired, but always brushed clean between visits. We now have brand new upholstery on the outdoor patio sofa and chairs! The inside furniture covers are washed periodically, and if they were need of washing before your visit, I do apologize. I will be getting a new manager for when i am out of town so that no one experiences this again. As for the kitchen, there are two sets of cooking ware as well as utensils and cooking oil, salt, pepper, herbs. I have found that is always appreciated and enough. We do not stock a full pantry or refrigerator; only the basics. I am sorry if that was not made clear.
I am glad to hear you enjoyed the view and location.
Great place to stay. We will be back. Couple of issues but the location can't be beat.
Location near Lynwood is incredible. The location on the bay is just tremendous. Totally an outdoor place. You find yourself on the back porch, back yard, porch over the water or in the water a lot of the time.
House is old, there were zero pots and pans, we had to buy our own from Costco. The clawfoot tub is cool looking but for those who shower it is a little difficult to navigate. The bottom is not flat, it curves down so you really have to think about balance. I actually told my sister to stay elsewhere because there was no way she could stand in the tub.
The owner is very responsive and that was great. I probably could have told her about the pans for cooking but we just got our own.
In the end we will likely go back. We have family on the island and now that I am used to the tub it should be just fine!!!
I am so happy to hear you enjoyed the cottage and the location!
I must admit I am absolutely baffled by the fact that you were without pots and pans though! ....Unless the last renter absconded with all the cooking ware and the housekeeper didn’t notice (i was out of town but usually personally check the house all the drawers and supplies)? I do apologize and of course you should not have had to purchase those. I will check the cottage as soon as the present renters check out.
Bainbridge Island is rich in the arts, has fantastic restaurants and wineries and great biking and hiking right outside the door of the cottages. Bainbridge Island is located a short 35 minute ferry ride from Downtown Seattle.
