Our family of five loved this beach house and would rent again in a heartbeat. Everything was clean and cute, and the beds/ furniture were comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped, views of the water can’t be beat, and the walkability was perfect for morning coffees and pastries near by.

thank you! we call it a "sweep out" cottage - nothing too fancy - - just a classic 1930s cottage on the beach - we feel it's really all anyone needs and are so glad you enjoyed it.
Cozy, well furnished house at a beautiful location.Loved watching the tide come in in the morning, and watching the colors change on the water. Everything we needed was there, especially appreciated the nespresso coffee maker. Loved enjoying my coffee on the covered porch in the morning. Would love to stay again!
This cottage is in a prime location, right on the beach. It is a beautiful, bright space, very comfortable. Diane is very quick to respond with any questions you may have.
This property is easily one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been too! So serene, private, and truly breath-taking. Diane was a pleasure to work with, and the home was clean and very comfortable. Would definitely love to stay again!

Thank you! We are so very glad you enjoyed our beach cottage. We find most people really appreciate the traditional cottage with the updates to keep it comfy. Hopefully you were able to see eagles and otters playing out on the water, along with our new bunny family in the yard. Maybe you even saw the two orca pods that went through the passage last week?? We love sharing our special place, and look forward to your return.
We had a great time staying in this cottage. It’s right on the Sound—the yard is spectacular and the location can’t be beat (a short one block walk to pastries, coffee, restaurants and a small movie theater). The cottage feels very private despite access to the town. And the cottage itself is very charming and feels like what Bainbridge must have felt like generations ago (albeit with new appliances!) If you want a quiet, peaceful stay—this is your place!

I am so glad your family enjoyed walking on Pleasant Beach. I still remember when my daughter was young playing for hours on the sandy tide flats!
We absolutely loved the house, location, town, neighbors. We would absolutely stay at this location again. The mornings and sunsets were magnificent. The wildlife was all around. So happy to have found this gem. Thank you.

Thanks so much for choosing to return to The B.I. Beach House! I am so glad you are relaxed and comfortable on the beach.
The host was so kind a d accommodating and allowed us to check in before the official check in time. That’s make s a HUGE difference when you’re traveling with kids and trying to figure out how to kill time until checkin. The location is a 10/10. You’re a 2 minute walk to the Lynwood restaurants yet it feels like you’re in a secluded area. The view from the living room and patio can’t be beat. It was so beautiful to see the scenery. The kids loved playing in the yard and down on the beach. It was very convenient to have such a great outdoor space. We loved our time in this home and will definitely book it again when we’re back in Bainbridge!
The property is lovely, from the access to the beach, the views and closeness to Lynwood Center. We were attending a wedding at the Center, and it was a short walk. The house is very sweet and nicely furnished. The retro kitchen is a nice touch.

So glad you enjoyed it here and had time to enjoy the beach as well everything Lynwood Center for the special weekend.
Very cute beachfront cottage where you can watch the ocean from the large windows. Beach was a few steps away from the back porch.
Great location less than 5 minutes walk from Lynwood center, with access to several good restaurants and other amenities.
Cottage was older, but had everything we needed for our stay (except a microwave). Property manager was super responsive.

Perfect Place for a Work Retreat
The cottage was just perfect for the four of us to get away from all the other things to do at home and focus in on this intense project. The beds were very comfortable and the sofa is almost the size of a twin bed and has the best view in the house. It was also great to sit around the living room and brainstorm but also take a mental break to watch the ferry come and go at the mouth of the bay where the cottage was situated. Great grocery shopping at the Town and Country Market and local dining were also big pluses. I would really love to come here for a vacation because working here was fantastic.

You and your team were fantastic guests. We are so happy you were able to enjoy the views and comfort of the cottage while on your work trip. Also glad to hear you were able to take advantage of the local restaurants. We are really very lucky! Come back in the warmer months and you'll be treated to outside live music at the wine bar just down the street and time in the hammock at the beach ! -Diane

Dream Getaway
Our stay was exactly what we had hoped it would be!! The house was exactly as described and shown as it is in the photos. My hubby and I have not slept so well, even with our 4 yr old daughter in between us. The beach access is amazing. The hammock was a dream. The weather was incredible which surprised us given it being the middle of april. Diane was so great to deal with. We absolutely cannot wait to get back!! When I think of a beach getaway the Pleasent Beach House and Cottage are truly a dream!!

It is a great place for multi-generations like yours- from your 4 year old, to you and your husband, to your parents. We think you just can't go wrong at the beach! We look forward to having you back.

Wonderful stay—felt like coming home!
We used to live on Bainbridge Island, and after moving back to Seattle, feel the need to go back and visit every so often:). The pictures (while very representative of the cottage) don't do it justice. It's a remarkably charming and comfortable place. The beds were extremely comfy, the towels were amazing, and we very much appreciated the thoughtful details provided by our gracious hosts. The kids (ages 5 & 7) loved the beach and the short walk to the local frozen yogurt place. We loved staring at the water, watching the ferries go by, drinking coffee (then later, wine) on the back porch. A wonderful, restful weekend we hope to repeat at least once or twice a year! Highly recommended!

Lovely location, not a 5 star property
Enjoyed the location right on the water. Did not enjoy the absolutely filthy upholstery both indoors and outdoors. It's hard to be comfortable when there is nowhere to sit. Additionally, the kitchen lacked the basic elements to prepare meals. Would not return.

My sincere apologies for your experience. The outdoor cushions indeed were tired, but always brushed clean between visits. We now have brand new upholstery on the outdoor patio sofa and chairs! The inside furniture covers are washed periodically, and if they were need of washing before your visit, I do apologize. I will be getting a new manager for when i am out of town so that no one experiences this again. As for the kitchen, there are two sets of cooking ware as well as utensils and cooking oil, salt, pepper, herbs. I have found that is always appreciated and enough. We do not stock a full pantry or refrigerator; only the basics. I am sorry if that was not made clear.
I am glad to hear you enjoyed the view and location.

Everything we hoped it would be.
My husband and I spent a week here in mid-July. The house is so comfortable you feel like you're at home. From the breathtaking view, the lovely front porch, the peace and tranquility of this magic spot exceeded our expectations. Julie met us at the property and gave us recommendations for places to go, restaurants and activities.
We had a double kayak delivered to the property which we used every afternoon to paddle along the shoreline looking at the beautiful scenery, homes, geese, birds.... and even jellyfish!
We walked the paths at the Bloedel Reserve, and hiked trails in the beautiful forest. No matter where we went we couldn't wait to get back to the cottage! The proximity to the village (not even a five minute walk) made it easy to go for a bakery fix, enjoy pizza, Thai and burgers. The town of Winslow near the ferry landing is a quick 8 minute drive.
Loved, loved, loved staying here! We will be back.

Location ... Location ... Location
Beautiful piece of waterfront property with well-maintained lawn that slopes gently to the water. Great photo opportunities each day as the Seattle- Bremerton ferry sails by almost hourly. The house is a cute place, clean, nicely decorated, and has an adequately-equipped kitchen. The bed in the main bedroom was extremely comfortable. The house seems to be poorly insulated, though, and is quite drafty, so it is not so good for a winter-time rental. I was able to stay warm while I was there by keeping the thermostat turned up, but the furnace ran almost continually. The antique claw-foot tub in the bathroom looks cute, but special care must be taken climbing in and out for showering as there are no hand-holds or grab bars - so renters who are in the "senior" age bracket should just be aware of this potential hazard. Despite these criticisms, I would highly recommend this place as a summer rental for anyone who enjoys a gorgeous spot on the water.

So glad you enjoyed our waterfront cottage and the comforts within! As you may have noticed, we have several new windows (in the kitchen and dining room) and will continue to replace more for better insulation. In the meantime, cozy down comforters and a good heating system will hopefully do the job. Hope to have you back in the summer or any time !
we found these cottages and the location reminiscent of cape cod where we grew up - "sweep out" cottages, great for a romantic get-away or piling the whole family in. We love the location, warm in the summer protected from the northern winds, southwestern exposure for lovely sunsets. We like being able to walk 1 block to the movie theatre, bakery/deli, morning latte, 3 restaurants and a small grocery store. Our favorite activities include hiking and biking from the cottages.
What makes this property unique
The cottages are so close to Seattle, a 35 minute ferry ride, but a world apart. Step back in time to your own classic cottages!
