Apartment, 1 Bedroom + Other (See Description), 1 Bath (Sleeps 2-4)
This unit has everything you need and suits the vacationer or business traveler. The house clings onto the side of the mountain, on a dead-end road, giving one the feel of truly being in the mountains but only 1.5 miles from the center of downtown.
We designed and built the multi-family house in 1993, and the main unit served as our home for several years. This particular 1 bedroom unit is best suited for a couple or small family with a king bed and large sectional sofa for extra sleeping. It is equipped with comfortable furnishings and has a small patio to enjoy the mountain views.
We believe you will truly enjoy your 'repose' time dwelling in this clean, 'clutter free' apartment. It is bright and open, yet very comfortable, cozy and intimate. If you are looking for something sleek, unique, and close to everything, then this apartment will satisfy your vacation desires and help create a memorable stay here in scenic Asheville.

About Mark Masters
I am a local architect and Asheville native and my wife Sherry is also a native of the area. Sherry has formerly worked as the manager/buyer for Grovewood Gallery for over 20-years and is heavily involved with promoting local arts and crafts. My firm concentrates primarily on healthcare design, institutional and commercial architecture.
Mark Masters purchased this Apartment in 1993
Why Mark Masters chose Kenilworth
We designed and built this home with the goal of creating a modern urban loft-style environment that is bright, open and yet scaled to be comfortable. The views are framed from inside the home and light filters throughout the interior. This steep mountain side lot posed design challenges and opportunities that resulted in a simplistic vertical scheme, creating unique interior spaces as well as various exterior levels and terraces.
What makes this Apartment unique
Convenience to interstate, downtown, and Biltmore Village. Surrounded by nature and mountain views. This property offers open space to relax and unwind.

Great modern apartment. Beautiful view convenient to everything.
Great experience. Very private convenient clean. You can tell this place was built by an architect. Attention to detail made for a care free stay. Super view. We will definitely stay here the next time we head to Asheville
We had a great stay in this apartment. The view is beautiful and everything you could need was provided. And the location is convenient to so much even if some Uber drivers had problems finding us at first. Would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend to others!
Nice place. Only issue is the steps. Hard to navigate in the dark. Also wooden steps by porch are very slippery when wet. Would benefit from rubber strips on the wood. Otherwise very comfortable.
I'm so sorry! We had a few power outages recently and I forgot to reset the outdoor lights to automatically come on. I'll have to remember in the future when I reset the clocks inside to check the outdoor lights as well. I apologize. Will put strips for the steps on the to-do list! We're glad you were comfortable and hope you enjoyed Asheville. Thanks for the feedback.
Restful, fun stay in Asheville
We loved everything about this stay! The artwork on the walls,(including host's creations!), the comfy bed, the plush bath towels, and the well-equipped kitchen. While on the mountain you felt removed from the city, in reality, downtown was an easy and quick drive.
We would definitely stay here again!
Thanks so much for your great review Nancy! We appreciate your visit - you were great guests...taking good care of our place as if it were your own.
I was confused about 'hosts own creations' then I realized you are referring to Mark's sketches of trips to Italy that we framed and have on the shelf :) Yes, he's pretty good at drawing! thanks for mentioning that. Best wishes on your travels in the coming weeks, Sherry
Very clean and close to to city. Would definetly recommend.
Thanks for your review Thomas! We're glad you had a good visit.
Amazing propert with great hosts
Sherry and Mark were great hosts! Their place was very nice, clean, quiet and had amazing views of the mountains. Sherry was very helpful with anything we needed. I would definitely recommend using them for your trip to Asheville!
We loved having you stay - so glad we got to meet you both! come back sometime for another anniversary trip :)
Asheville is known for it's wonderful architecture, art galleries, great restaurants and hip shops. This eclectic city in the mountains is a perfect place to explore and to make as a home base while venturing the mountains of Western North Carolina. The city offers a variety of 'urban' activities while one can spend a lifetime exploring the Southern Appalachians. The highest peak, Mount Mitchell is less than an hours drive via the Blue Ridge Parkway. These lush mountains have attracted visitors for years including George Vanderbilt who set out to build his 'dream house' - The Biltmore, which is a must see for any first-time visitor to the area. One can spend days shopping downtown and eating at some of the best restaurants in the region which offer a wide variety of ethnic tastes. The many craft breweries have touted Asheville as 'Beer City' the past few years and and the art scene is nationally known. Asheville will indeed make a lasting impression.
