About the property

Custom-Built Cabin (Sleeps 5)...Wrap Around Porch, Upstairs Balcony

Our beautiful cabin has two stories with loft sleeping, a wraparound porch and a private balcony off the upstairs bedroom. Sleeps up to five people.

One king size bed and a day bed are upstairs. There is a lovely sitting area upstairs with windows for wonderful views all around.

Downstairs there is a kitchen full of amenities, stacked washer/dryer, dining table, futon, cozy sitting areas, and a 3/4 bath. Also downstairs are an HDTV and bluray player. Phone service (landline-unlimited US calling) is available as well.

Treat yourself to a cozy bath with hot water on the deck outside in the clawfoot tub (may not be available during winter months).

Our cabin is in a truly beautiful location on the hillside overlooking the small hollow below. We offer over 60 acres of beautiful, private-access, mountain property for your enjoyment. There are nearly three miles of hiking trails. Enjoy easy and private access from one of two trailheads. Signs are also placed along the different paths to guide your way. If you like hiking in the mountains while listening to birds and other sounds of nature, you will love our trails. These grass bed trails are rustic and maintained monthly to remove any fallen limbs and provide a 5-6 foot wide path for hiking. They range in difficulty from level to steep to moderate. Bring some good hiking shoes, step out into nature and enjoy a beautiful slice of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

We take great pride in offering a comfortable, clean, and private experience for our guests. We hope you enjoy your stay at The Cabin!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Our stay at Wild Harmony was motivated by our college aged daughter who wanted to see Mom and Dad as well as enjoy some off campus time with her friends from school. This amazing mountain hideaway was a perfect solution for all. We brought the "kids" to Wild Harmony Farm from the airport in Charlotte (about 2 1/2 hours away) and gave them the choice of the Cottage or the Cabin (we got both, this a great situation for families with adult kids, wedding groups and so forth). The four of them immediately chose the Cabin for it's fun layout and rustic/hip charm. Situated on a wooded rise over looking the hollow wherein the Cottage is placed, the Cabin is inconspicuous even in March with the trees just beginning to bud. An excellent place for a romantic getaway or for a small family to get a taste of WNC. Located back in the wooded mountains near Marshall NC the farm is remote yet easily accessible. As for the young folk they enjoyed the excellent hiking trails that lace the 62 acre property and even Dad was able to make the mile climb to Berry Knob a couple of times. Naturally, the young ladies felt the call of urban life every now and again and took off to Asheville to get in on some craft brew and local entertainment. Asheville is about a thirty minute drive. And while on the topic of craft brew and music, we all enjoyed some bluegrass jams in the little town of Marshall which is only about ten minutes away. Marshall is also home to some fun shops and a large grocery store where we stopped to supply the kitchen and stock up on local beers. The real magic of this place, however, lies in the amazing outdoors which surrounds one on all sides. There are trail rides and raft rentals, literally hundreds of miles of hiking trails and fishing opportunities galore. For example, the Laurel River is thirty minutes away and has an easy meandering trail as well as trout and bass. Excellent birding is to be had right on Wild Harmony as it is a sanctuary. Grouse, pileated woodpeckers and towhees are just a few "new birds" that caught the eye of this Kansas native. One drives Little Pine Rd right along the French Broad River to get to Caney Fork so each can bear frequent witness to the beauty of this waterway which geologically speaking is the third oldest river on Earth. Night or day, in or out, country or city, the Cabin at Wild Harmony is a great place from which to enjoy this corner of the universe.

Wonderful Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I quietly celebrated our 21st anniversary by withdrawing from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives and retreating to this adorable cabin in the woods. The lack of internet access forced us to detach and reconnect in ways we haven't been able in a long time. The cabin was clean and fresh. Everything worked: AC, lights, locks, plumbing, etc. We didn't have to worry about being disrupted by any distractions. I read an entire book, uninterrupted, in a matter of a couple of days. It was just so relaxing.

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. The photos and description were accurate. The location worked great for day trips to Asheville, Cherokee National Forest, and Pisgah National Forest.

Cozy Cabin in the Woods

  • 4 of 5

Very nice secluded location that allows you to get away from it all. Trail to hike right outside your door. Close to a lot of outdoor activities- rafting (3-4 within a couple miles), horseback riding (at the end of the driveway), ziplines and hiking.

Hard to find at first because you drive through the horse farm, but once you do, it's wonderful.

Loved the little cabin. It was perfect for my husband and I. It was a great base camp for our travels in all directions. We enjoyed Hotsprings, Mt. Mitchell, Grandfather Mt., Asheville, and Black mountain.
