Custom-Built Cabin (Sleeps 5)...Wrap Around Porch, Upstairs Balcony
Our beautiful cabin has two stories with loft sleeping, a wraparound porch and a private balcony off the upstairs bedroom. Sleeps up to five people.
One king size bed and a day bed are upstairs. There is a lovely sitting area upstairs with windows for wonderful views all around.
Downstairs there is a kitchen full of amenities, stacked washer/dryer, dining table, futon, cozy sitting areas, a dvd/bluray player, and a 3/4 bath. Phone service (landline-unlimited US calling) is available as well.
Treat yourself to a cozy bath with hot water on the deck outside in the clawfoot tub (may not be available during winter months).
Our cabin is in a truly beautiful location on the hillside overlooking the small hollow below. We offer over 60 acres of beautiful, private-access, mountain property for your enjoyment. There are nearly three miles of hiking trails. Enjoy easy and private access from one of two trailheads. Signs are also placed along the different paths to guide your way. If you like hiking in the mountains while listening to birds and other sounds of nature, you will love our trails. These grass bed trails are rustic and maintained monthly to remove any fallen limbs and provide a 5-6 foot wide path for hiking. They range in difficulty from level to steep to moderate. Bring some good hiking shoes, step out into nature and enjoy a beautiful slice of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
We take great pride in offering a comfortable, clean, and private experience for our guests. We hope you enjoy your stay at The Cabin!

Cozy, Comfortable and Relaxing
The stay was so nice. The cabin was better than described. Would definitely rent it again.
I enjoyed the solitude, peace and tranquility, and especially the hiking trails. My wife...not so much. Too far to civilization, restaurants and shops.
We're glad you enjoyed the peace and tranquility offered at the Cabin and the 62 acres of beautiful mountains and hiking trails. At 15 minutes from the towns of Marshall and Weaverville, and 30 minutes from Asheville or Hot Springs, the property offers a balance of offerings that many folks look for in a vacation getaway. We always seek to accurately represent the features of the cabin and surrounding area - and then our hope is that those expectations are exceeded during our guest's stay. Thank you.
Peaceful and relaxing
This cabin was so cozy and welcoming! We had a great time!
Quiet, relaxing, cozy
My fiance and I visited the Asheville area for our wedding and honeymoon. We decided to rent this quaint cabin for the week, while in the area. We visited downtown Marshall, Asheville, Arden (just south of Asheville) had to go see Sierre Nevada!! Then even took a trip to Tennesse. I have to say we will be returning. Be prepared to not have any phone reception though and no cable, if rhose are the things you live for.
Lovely spot if you're looking for a secluded location
The cabin was romantic and perfectly secluded. We really enjoyed the hiking trails adjoining the cabin and the firepit nearby. The driveway, as others have indicated, is a force to be reckoned with and my husband's truck (it is rear-wheel drive) had a lot of issues. I can't imagine trying to take a sedan or minivan up the hill. We enjoyed the amenities it offered - the kitchen was definitely adequate for the meals we prepared there. When they say no cell phone service, they mean it. You can get a few stations on the radio and that's about it. If you expect to spend any length of time at the cabin, you'll want movies or some way to entertain yourselves. The drive into Marshall was pleasant and there's more in the town than first meets the eye. We also traveled to Asheville and Great Smoky Mountains National Park while staying at this cabin, both easy enough drives. We'd definitely come back and recommend it for small groups, families or other couples looking for a quiet retreat.
Enjoyed the hiking trails. Made a trip into Marshall for breakfast and some snacks at a natural food store. A nice short drive to Asheville. Also highly recommend stopping in mars hill for dinner at papa nicks the service was awesome and the food was amazing. Already planning a return trip in may for our oldest son birthday to do a horse ride at the stable. The only down side I found was the blower on the gas stove didn’t seem to work correctly.
We're so glad you enjoyed your stay, and are grateful you would choose us for a future visit! Indeed, there is so much to do...from visiting nearby Asheville & surrounding communities to enjoying nature's beauty and wilderness all around.
For clarification, the corner fireplace itself is actually a flame-only unit, sometimes used for radiating extra warmth and atmosphere to suit the occasion. The primary heat source is via heat pumps located both upstairs and down. These units by themselves provide ample warmth throughout the cabin.
Rare, head of the mountain location with privacy and comfort in the heart of nature's beauty. Within short walking distance of horseback riding with the welcoming, warmhearted folks at Sandy Bottoms Trail Rides. The farmhouse and cabin are only three miles from the beautiful French Broad River. Blue Heron Whitewater Rafting is a short five miles away. A beautiful seven miles of scenic mountain roadways bring you to restaurants and shopping in the historic town of Marshall down alongside the River. From here you are only 30 minutes to Hot Springs as well. All of this and it's only 30 minutes to vibrant Asheville with its abundant shopping, museums, gardens, nightlife, and myriad other attractions and amenities.
