The home is fully provisioned: towels, linens, soaps, tissue, garbage bags, paper towels, cleaning agents, etc.

We custom built this home in 2006 for the wonderful views and privacy. It's on 4 acres and you can't see or hear other homes. We also love that it's on the Cashier's side of Highlands. That's the best location in Highlands to enjoy everything both towns have to offer.

Fantastic Mountain Retreat!

We couldn't think of a nicer place to spend a weekend in the mountains! The home was spacious and well appointed (the private hot tub was especially nice!) and the views off the back decks were wonderful. Can't wait to return!!

Great Mountain Retreat

We were greatly surprised by over a foot of snow during our visit! This home was the perfect place to settle in and enjoy the beauty of the winter.

The home is very well appointed and supplied as mentioned by many previous reviewers.

The neighborhood was well prepared for winter as the road was cleared and salted, plus the power never went out! The house is located high enough for views, but not so high that we ever felt "stuck".

This is a great year-round rental!!

Girl's Get-Away Dream Vacation Rental

Whenever it's possible, we return to Highlands and to Whiteside Cabin specifically. Tom and Kevin have created a cozy, well-stocked, well-located home-away-from-home in Highlands, just a couple of miles from the downtown area. Each level has it's own private sleeping quarters and private baths. That's perfection for three women who travel together and who each need their own personal space! My favorite rooms are the kitchen (which lacks for nothing) and the deck (the view is peaceful and restful and there are no houses to block the view). The only thing I can say is, if you are looking for a cabin in Highlands, you should check out this gem. You won't be disappointed in your decision if you decide to stay here.

Warm and cozy in the mountains

A wonderful warm and cozy home in the mountains. We loved our stay in this well maintained home. A great location half way between Cashiers and Highlands, central to great hiking, restaurants and golf. We plan to return to enjoy the outdoor deck and screened porch again.

Very nice!

We enjoyed our week stay in this private yet conveniently located home. The thoughtful owners provided many conveniences, no rushing to the store for salt, paper towels, etc. The screened porches and decks were enjoyed--lots of outdoor spaces. The hot tub was an added plus on a cool rainy day! All in all, a very nice, clean and comfortable rental. The owner was very responsive. Thank you.

The cabin is located 1/2 way between Highlands and Cashiers, but in Highlands. It's about 10 minutes to either town - east or west.
