28 Pascal is a Queen Anne Victorian filled with antiques, three acres of gardens, a game room, library. Bicycles, English croquet, tea at 4 PM. Particularly well-suuited for a reunion of good college friends, the family of a wedding party, friends of Downton Abbey; that is, for a week we'll live like we deserve it. 28 Pascal is a Queen Anne Victorian filled with antiques three acres of gardens, a game room, library.
I'm a retired teacher who owns this remarkable house, an island house and a classic yacht to take guests between the two. I run an antique business which keeps the best of the collection in this house. Antique Steinway piano of my grandmother, personal library of an English teacher. Historic prints of C.D. Gibson in library.
Douglas Day purchased this chateau / country house in 2012
Why? This property? You'll be a discerning family or group that wants a remarkable historic house with antiques and games and opportunities for memorable activities. English croquet with Slazenger mallets, library with C.D. Gibson's Dickens characters framed in museum glass, tea on the porch gazebo, billiards in the Game Room. Backgammon on an ivory table from 1820, and so forth. Very close to harbor filled with classic yachts, a couple of working lobster boats and a remarkable restaurant. Catering from same available.
Well, aside from the silver loving cup of my great-grandfather I don't put away the antiques and silver. It stays for your use. This is my primary residence which I rent for Events and Reunions when my family is in our island house. When the kids return to school I rent that house and take you out in my 1958 S&S yacht. In other words, you benefit from my classic stuff without having to maintain it! Good for you!
WOW is the only word that can describe Doug Day's house at 28 Pascal and his abilities to go above and beyond as wedding planner extraordinaire!
There cannot be a more idyllic setting for a destination wedding than 28 Pascal in Rockport. The grounds are incredible, and the home itself is incredibly flexible....meeting the needs of all three families that stayed perfectly. The house has such a great story and each room is its own chapter -- we felt right at home. The most amazing thing was that the house changed with each event held there...and it felt like a different place each time -- from rehearsal dinner to bed and breakfast to wedding reception.
Now, while the home is incredible...what takes everything over the top is Doug himself. When we initially called about the property we were expecting to simply rent a beautiful home. Upon talking with Doug though, we quickly saw the advantage of his personal involvement in pulling the entire wedding off. He talked to us about how the property could host the rehearsal dinner(a lobster bake!), and how he could play a central coordination role in everything. His flexibility and "can-do" approach were evident in our early discussions and all expectations were surpassed. From flowers to cakes to classic cars to sunset sailboats, to reception planning to music and caterers -- there was not one aspect of the entire wedding that Doug did not play a personal role in delivering. During the event, we were convinced that Doug had a twin because he was EVERYWHERE. And not only was he everywhere, but he knew everyone -- the team that he pulled together and led were top notch and the best in their area of expertise. Bottom line -- there was not one thing forgotten and it was all executed to perfection.
If anyone is looking for a dream destination wedding(or if you are local to Rockport and want a top notch venue) -- three pieces of advice -- do it Rockport, Maine...... do it at 28 Pascal....and have Doug Day do it!!!

Mid-coast Maine centers on Rockport/Camden which used to be one town. Two harbors, mountains meet sea, tourists meet schooners in both harbors. Andre the Seal (now a bronze monument) is two minutes from 28 Pascal. Rockport Harbor is home to some of the great classic yachts. There are six Concordia yachts in Rockport Harbor alone, home of Rockport Marine. Excellent golf, sailing, rock climbing, mountain biking, dining. The best of civilized Maine. See my other listing for the best of 'uncivilized Maine.'

This is my primary residence. My family "migrates" to our Swan's Island home allowing for the rental of 28 Pascal Ave. for small events, reunions, very small weddings. Ideal situation: four couples who love the idea of sailing on a classic yacht in addition to the experience of Queen Anne Victorian, entertainment and chef.
Add $100/family cleaning fee. (four families, $400).
