Gracious and intimate best describes this distinctive property. From the moment you set foot on the rich Italian marble lobby, you are embraced with abounding elegance. The attention to detail in this perfectly located Pacific paradise leaves little to be desired.

The hotel/condo was built in 1977 by the Japanese, during a time when money was no object. The main building materials are marble and gold leaf.

The room is a good size, much larger than a hotel room, you will be very comfortable. The view is from the 18th floor and in one direction you see the mountains in the other the Pacific Ocean.

You have 24 hour valet parking at $35/day, or park for free on the street.

The condo is adjacent to De Russey Park, and the De Russey Park Beach. This is a very nice area where the 'Beautiful People' go. There are also free tennis courts in the park with night lighting.

It is a short walk to the Hilton Hawaiian Village, and the Royal Hawaiian Pink Palace, or the Sheraton Mona Surfrider; but it is also very, very, nice to return to the quiet of this condo at the Royal Garden, and get away from all the hoi polloi, and crowds of tourists, and children. So you get the best of all worlds, all within a five minute walk.

The world famous Ala Mona shopping centre is also nearby. The bus stop is 1/2 block away. There is no need for a car. This luxury condo is much nicer than a hotel room.


'My husband and I really enjoyed our three week stay. We travel to Waikiki every year but this was the first time that we rented an apartment. The condominium was clean, well equipped and close to everything the city offers. We are already planning our holiday for next year, and hope to have the same condo for years to come! 'The apartment is very lovely, and the chandelier is so elegant. It is quiet roomy, very comfortable, functionally equipped, and quiet. It is well situated, close to the central park, the beach, and all the attractions, with a reliable bus service too and from the airport. The shops include Prada, Burberry, Ives Saint Laurent, etc. There are plenty of restaurants. If you need any help in deciding what to do the staff can make recommendations. Why stay in a hotel, this luxury condo is much, much nicer, at about the same price. This condo is central to all the fun, but away from the crowds of tourists.

This Unit has a California King Size bed. There is a fold down couch bed as well. The view is on the much preferred Diamond Head side of the Building, which has an Ocean view towards Diamond Head. This side of the Building has a much better view towards the Ocean and Pacific Trade winds come straight in the Large lanai door.

About Paul Brooks

We fell in love with this building when we walked in the marble lobby. It was like walking in to a fine hotel in New York or London. We had looked at many properties in Waikiki but this put them all to shame. We felt like we were living in the Hilton which is only a few blocks away. The unit had a similar view but was much larger that the $400 plus per night room we had at the Hilton. We liked it so much we bought 3 units for retirement. Two are next door to each other with the idea of connecting them one day. For now we have 3 kids and live in San Diego, but one day this will be our home.

What makes this condo unique

The staff in this 4 star Hotel are like family. If you ever need anything just ask and they are always so friendly and helpful. The kids loved the pool and the Sauna.. Shopping and the best Food and markets are all right outside the door.

Not what you think.

The front lobby and staff are a 4+ star, but the room itself barely rates a 3. The bathroom was too dark, with only one bath towel each. The kitchen didn't even have spoons. There wasn't a broom and sand built up each day from our clothing etc. We were there 6 nights walking sand from the floor into our bed sheets. The bed was comfortable and the TV worked fine. Location is OK too, but heads up if you think the lobby and actual room are the same quality.

Owner's Response: Hi Heather, The cleaning company is in the building every day if you needed more towels you just needed to ask us and they would deliver them.. Will check on the spoons not sure why these would be missing we always have a full set of silverware in the draws will also check that the bathroom light has a bright enough bulb.. There is a vacume available I will make sure that a broom is also added to the closet... Hope you had a nice time... Paul

Clean, comfortable, great location

This was my first time renting a condo on vacation, but would absolutely rent this one again. The location was great, very true to the description. It was close enough to the busy streets of Waikiki, and located on a quiet side street for peace and quiet. The staff was very mannerly, helpful and made everything easy. Paul, the owner was able to answer all of my questions and was very personable and honest about the property. I loved it and would rent again next time I'm in the area.

Great stay at VRBO # 514889

VRBO # 514889 met all my expectations. It was clean, sufficiently roomy, quiet, comfortable, and had all the essentials. My wife and I both loved it! Eating out in Hawaii can be expensive so we managed costs by preparing and eating breakfast and lunch in the room. My wife and I agreed that if we return to Hawaii, we definitely want to experience VRBO # 514889 again.
