About Lauren Benton

Having traveled the world in search of beauty and adventure, the owners (Wynne and Katie) and the property manager (Lauren) have chosen Hanalei, Kauai as one of the best places on earth.

Lauren Benton purchased this house in 2007

Why Lauren Benton chose Hanalei Palms

The owners wanted to always have a spacious, comfortably, elegant home when staying in Hanalei with their family or friends. They love being a short walk to the beach for sunrise jogs along the 2 mile stretch of sand, for long swims in the Bay, for surf sessions at Pine Trees or Grandpa's, for paddles up the Hanalei River, or for strolls into town for a great meal. It's all here and HoAloha is the perfect home base from which to experience all Kauai has to offer.

What makes this house unique

In addition to being 3 properties from the beach and a few short blocks to town (in other words, the perfect location), there are wonderful bonuses in all the great toys/equipment. 4+ beach cruiser bikes, 3 soft top surfboards, 3 SUP/paddles, 1 big beach cart, 5+ boogie boards, snorkel equipment, and then all the usual - beach chairs, umbrellas, floaties, toys, towels and mats. There are also tons of baby/toddler/kiddo toys and equipment (like a high chair, full crib, play-n-pack, toddler dining seat, tricycle). You'll save thousands of $$'s in rental equipment!!

Guestbook comments from the manager

Quiet, comfortable, roomy and close to the best part of Hanalei Bay and the town. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home. The neighborhood is quiet and very close to the town and beach. This is our 2nd time in Hanalei Bay and we would definitely stay at this home again. There were 4 adults and 2 teenagers. Everyone felt the same way - we had everything we needed at this home.

We love Hanalei and can't imagine anyone coming to Kauai and not choosing to stay in Hanalei, if they're able to. This property is unique because of the close proximity to the beach and town while offering the spaciousness of one of the larger homes in Hanalei.

Amazing home in amazing location!

  • 5 of 5

This gorgeous property has everything you need for an awesome vacation! It is just steps away from gorgeous Hanalei bay. The home has all the amenities plus surf/paddle boards and snorkel gear. We jumped on the bikes in the evening for a quick ride into town for dinner and shopping! Lauren the house manager was available to answer all questions. I would recommend this place to all friends and family!

Our Third Stay at HoAloha!

  • 5 of 5

We love this house as evidenced by our third two week stay. We have been vacationing in Hanalei since 1998? and this is the fourth different home we've rented. It's a wonderful spot for all three generations - grandma and grandpa, two daughters and sons-in law and grandkids from 6 - 16. Many great memories. House is very well supplied - love all the beach supplies from wagon to surfboards and SUP! Hoping they put off their remodel because we won't fit any longer if the do remodel! Lauren was very responsive to our needs. Thanks for a great vacation again this year.

Just couldn't be better

  • 5 of 5

What a lovely home to enjoy the beautiful Hanelei, Kauai. Plenty of room for our family, the gathering areas inside and outside were wonderful, plenty of equipment for our days at the beach, and so beautifully stocked with dishes, towels, and sheets. I just can't think of a single thing we were missing. So lovely to walk a few houses to the beach and to ride the beach bikes the short distance to downtown. The few questions we had were answered promptly by the property manager. We enjoyed driving north to one of the botanical gardens and to the Na Pali Coastline trailhead. We also took a trip south to enjoy a hike in the breathtaking Waimea Canyon and swam in a pool made by a waterfall. We found the town of Hanalei friendly and had everything we needed at their organic store, their grocery store, and the farmers market just a short drive north. I hope we get to return again.

Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at HoAloha for a week in July. We were 2 families including 4 adults and 5 kids, and we had plenty of space for sleep and for play. The house is well stocked, especially for the beach! We enjoyed use of the beach chairs and umbrella, snorkel gear, surfboards and paddle boards. The beautiful Hanalei Bay is such an easy walk from the house, even with all the equipment. It was great to be so close to Hanalei Town as well, and we could walk to many shops and restaurants. Lauren was a great manager and attended to any questions very quickly. I would definitely recommend this house and we look forward to staying again sometime!

Great Location Great House in Hanalei

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Hoaloha for 10 days after Christmas for a 25th anniversary and 50th birthday celebration and are so glad we chose this house and this area of Hanalei. First of all, the location is perfect. The house is away from any busy streets yet really close to the beach and town. 10 min walk to town, 2 min walk to the beach. We found that we really appreciated having the bikes that come with the house so we could peddle to town or head to the farther reaches of Hanalei beach and not have any parking issues. The house itself was all in very good order functionally and we had no issues at all with anything. It has all you'd need in the kitchen, bedrooms, beach equipment etc.. The lanais are the best part. We spent all meal times and the majority of our time at the house on the big lanai with it's view of the ocean and it's lush surroundings. The lanais by the upstairs bedrooms, with their awesome mountain views were a wonderful spot to have a morning coffee and warm up in the morning sun.

So the location is great, the house is great, Lauren the manager was attentive and organized, but what really made our trip special was being on the North Shore of Kauai and in Hanalei. Hoaloha is a perfect spot enjoy it!

Wonderful family time in Hanalei!

  • 5 of 5

We just spent 6 weeks at this beach house in October-November 2015. It is located at about a two minute walk from the public beach access, where there is a lifeguard, a shower and the most beautiful beach that Kauai has to offer. The house is on a dead-end street, so it is very safe for children to play. We had 6 weeks to discover most beaches on the island of Kauai. Hanalei is by far the best in terms of beauty of landscape and type of activities (surf, paddle board, swimming, running, biking, etc.) you can do. I was afraid that the beach would be too crowded, but it was very quiet most of the time. It is very entertaining to see the local crowd at sunset near the pier. Traveling with young children is never easy, but this house was perfect! There was a baby cot and high chair for my 6 month old son and twin bed and booster seat for my 3 year old daughter. Each morning we would pick our oranges from the orange tree in the backyard (great orange juice!). Lauren is an outstanding manager. We had a minor plumbing issue (noisy toilet) during our stay and she had the plumber come and fix the problem in less than 24 hrs. Each time I had questions, Lauren would answer in less than an hour. The BBQ grill on the patio is high quality and has a gas stove which allows us to cook most of the food on the patio (does not heat up the house). You can walk 10 minutes and get to Hanalei Village where there is a couple of restaurants, ice cream shops, grocery store, bio grocery store, so anything that you need! I highly recommend staying at this place!
