4+BR house with large ocean view lanai and loaded with extras

HoAloha is the perfect retreat for a couple, a family, or up to eight (relaxation-seeking) adults. Located in one of Hanalei's quiet residential cul-de-sac's, it's a few steps to the Pavilion Beach Park, in the center of Hanalei Bay. Stroll to the Pier (and jump off or fish), paddle out and catch some waves on a surfboard, boogie board or SUP, kayak up the Hanalei River or around the Bay, or read a book while soaking up the sun's rays on the warm, soft-sand beach.

About Lauren Benton

Having traveled the world in search of beauty and adventure, the owners (Wynne and Katie) and the property manager (Lauren) have chosen Hanalei, Kauai as one of the best places on earth.

Lauren Benton purchased this house in 2007

Why Lauren Benton chose Hanalei

The owners wanted to always have a spacious, comfortably, elegant home when staying in Hanalei with their family or friends. They love being a short walk to the beach for sunrise jogs along the 2 mile stretch of sand, for long swims in the Bay, for surf sessions at Pine Trees or Grandpa's, for paddles up the Hanalei River, or for strolls into town for a great meal. It's all here and HoAloha is the perfect home base from which to experience all Kauai has to offer.

What makes this house unique

In addition to being 3 properties from the beach and a few short blocks to town (in other words, the perfect location), there are wonderful bonuses in all the great toys/equipment. 4+ beach cruiser bikes, 3 soft top surfboards, 1 SUP/paddles, 1 big beach cart, 4+ boogie boards, snorkel equipment, and then all the usual - beach chairs, umbrellas, floaties, toys, towels and mats. There are also tons of baby/toddler/kiddo toys and equipment (like a high chair, full crib, play-n-pack, toddler dining seat, tricycle). You'll save thousands of $$'s in rental equipment!!

Guestbook comments from the manager

Quiet, comfortable, roomy and close to the best part of Hanalei Bay and the town. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home. The neighborhood is quiet and very close to the town and beach. This is our 2nd time in Hanalei Bay and we would definitely stay at this home again. There were 4 adults and 2 teenagers. Everyone felt the same way - we had everything we needed at this home.

Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at HoAloha for a week in July. We were 2 families including 4 adults and 5 kids, and we had plenty of space for sleep and for play. The house is well stocked, especially for the beach! We enjoyed use of the beach chairs and umbrella, snorkel gear, surfboards and paddle boards. The beautiful Hanalei Bay is such an easy walk from the house, even with all the equipment. It was great to be so close to Hanalei Town as well, and we could walk to many shops and restaurants. Lauren was a great manager and attended to any questions very quickly. I would definitely recommend this house and we look forward to staying again sometime!

Great Location Great House in Hanalei

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at Hoaloha for 10 days after Christmas for a 25th anniversary and 50th birthday celebration and are so glad we chose this house and this area of Hanalei. First of all, the location is perfect. The house is away from any busy streets yet really close to the beach and town. 10 min walk to town, 2 min walk to the beach. We found that we really appreciated having the bikes that come with the house so we could peddle to town or head to the farther reaches of Hanalei beach and not have any parking issues. The house itself was all in very good order functionally and we had no issues at all with anything. It has all you'd need in the kitchen, bedrooms, beach equipment etc.. The lanais are the best part. We spent all meal times and the majority of our time at the house on the big lanai with it's view of the ocean and it's lush surroundings. The lanais by the upstairs bedrooms, with their awesome mountain views were a wonderful spot to have a morning coffee and warm up in the morning sun.

So the location is great, the house is great, Lauren the manager was attentive and organized, but what really made our trip special was being on the North Shore of Kauai and in Hanalei. Hoaloha is a perfect spot enjoy it!

Wonderful family time in Hanalei!

  • 5 of 5

We just spent 6 weeks at this beach house in October-November 2015. It is located at about a two minute walk from the public beach access, where there is a lifeguard, a shower and the most beautiful beach that Kauai has to offer. The house is on a dead-end street, so it is very safe for children to play. We had 6 weeks to discover most beaches on the island of Kauai. Hanalei is by far the best in terms of beauty of landscape and type of activities (surf, paddle board, swimming, running, biking, etc.) you can do. I was afraid that the beach would be too crowded, but it was very quiet most of the time. It is very entertaining to see the local crowd at sunset near the pier. Traveling with young children is never easy, but this house was perfect! There was a baby cot and high chair for my 6 month old son and twin bed and booster seat for my 3 year old daughter. Each morning we would pick our oranges from the orange tree in the backyard (great orange juice!). Lauren is an outstanding manager. We had a minor plumbing issue (noisy toilet) during our stay and she had the plumber come and fix the problem in less than 24 hrs. Each time I had questions, Lauren would answer in less than an hour. The BBQ grill on the patio is high quality and has a gas stove which allows us to cook most of the food on the patio (does not heat up the house). You can walk 10 minutes and get to Hanalei Village where there is a couple of restaurants, ice cream shops, grocery store, bio grocery store, so anything that you need! I highly recommend staying at this place!

Vacation of a Lifetime

  • 5 of 5

We drove through Hanalei Bay on a trip to Kauai several years ago. We were so enchanted by the beautiful bay and the quaintness of the town, it became a dream to stay there. This beautiful house was our dream come true. It is exactly as described and so much more! As ocean-lovers we went to the beach everyday, and the house is fully outfitted with everything we needed: chairs, umbrellas, a paddle board, surf boards (and too much more to list). Each day we loaded up the beach wagon and walked just one block to the beautiful beach at Hanalei Bay. When we returned from the beach we particularly enjoyed the outdoor shower! We rarely used our rental car, but rode the bikes into town for dinner and to visit the shops.

A special thank you to Lauren for being such a gracious and attentive host. She went out of her way to make sure our stay was perfect. The house is very spacious, and the decor was comfortable and perfectly suited for Hawaii. Meticulous care was taken to stock the kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms with everything we needed for the perfect vacation. The house's split-level design is ideal for those wanting privacy, but there are plenty of gathering places in the living room, dining room, and on the deck to enjoy each other's company. The beautiful grounds of the house are lush, tropical and very well-kept. There were 4 of us staying at the house (2 couples), but it can easily accommodate more people.

We took a couple of hikes, and a couple of trips to the other side of the island, but we were quite content to spend the majority of our time right in Hanalei. (Although there are plenty of activities to enjoy nearby).

We will definitely be returning to this very special place. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us.

Fabulous!

  • 5 of 5

This house is situated nicely - near the beach and Hanalei - and is perfect for a family or several couples. We were there with our four teenagers and our mothers and still felt that we had plenty of room. It comes with a sand wagon that transports all of the necessary beach equipment easily (including surfboards and SUP) down to the beach. We especially loved the large porch and the feeling that we were living in a rainforest! Lauren was so easy to communicate with and made it all very easy to arrange. We can't wait to come back!

Great house

We loved the location of this house being so close to the beach and the the little Hanalei shops. Our favorite part of the day was morning coffee on the deck.

We love Hanalei and can't imagine anyone coming to Kauai and not choosing to stay in Hanalei, if they're able to. This property is unique because of the close proximity to the beach and town while offering the spaciousness of one of the larger homes in Hanalei.
