Beautiful & Private 3 Bedroom 2 Bath House in Great Neighborhood
*Volcanic Activity Update: Our property and surrounding community is safe and removed from the current volcanic activity*
*Hale Ohia is in the small town of Volcano. The current new lava activity is in a neighborhood called Leilani Estates, next to the town of Pahoa, over an hour’s drive away and at a much lower elevation*
Located on the sunny side of Volcano, the entrance to Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park is just 5 minutes away. This beautiful property, situated on a peaceful and quiet street in the desirable Volcano Golf & Country Club neighborhood, is delightfully private, surrounded on three sides with ohia and koa forest.
Just 10 years old, this house features a fully equipped kitchen, full size washer/dryer, free WiFi, cozy open concept living room/dining area with gas fireplace, spacious master bedroom suite and a large master bathroom with 2 sinks and large walk-in tiled shower. The guest bedrooms share a bath with shower.
Enjoy the fireplace, the comfy couches, the privacy and garden views after a great day exploring the park... or sit on the cozy covered lanai and experience the secluded and peaceful yard and koa forest at the back of the property, as well as the many native birds who call the area their home.
You are within walking distance of the 18 hole Volcano Golf Course as well as the Volcano Winery. The neighborhood has wide quiet paved streets that are ideal for walking, cycling, etc. You can listen to the quiet when you choose Hale Ohia for your Volcano experience.

Great Big Island Family Retreat!
Great area, especially to spend time at Volcano National Park. Easy access to Rainbow & Akaka falls, Hilo Airport, Mauna Kea Summit, Black Sand Beach, City of Refuge. Home is fully equipped, large & spacious and spotlessly clean! Great golf course a driver away from the home. It was a fantastic base camp for 6 adults to explore the entire Big Island. Spent a day on the Kona coast and Captain Cook coffee region. We felt at home immediately! We will absolutely be returning! Mahalo Jeff & Cathy
A great vacation home!
This home worked well for us and another couple. Well equipped kitchen, comfortable living room and bedrooms made our stay most enjoyable.
Beautiful, comfortable home
This home was perfect for myself, husband, 2 kids and grandparents! We were so comfortable here and the home was equipped with so many necessities! The home had a secluded feel as it was surrounded by lush greenery. We loved having our breakfasts on the back patio. It rained quite a bit every day we were there, but there wasn't much that could be done about that. We still enjoyed going out and about in Volcano in our ponchos with umbrellas! Only about a 5 minute drive from the national park allowed us to return here multiple times during our stay. We did notice a bit of a musty smell in the house but am wondering if that is common among homes here as it is very wet in this area? We still very much enjoyed our stay here and being in this area. Thank you for the stay! It was lovely!
Great choice for volcano area
Nice, very spacious home in the golf course community near Volcano village, which has several good restaurant options, and also convenient to the Volcano National Park. Would be great for a family with kids with the very spacious back yard. Also a nice neighborhood for walking. We enjoyed the gas fireplace in the cool evenings.
Very clean home, quiet neighborhood and convenient to the park.
If we have to complain about one thing is the home was cold. Granted we were there during an unexpected continuous rainy spell. The property was very clean and well kept. Everything worked well for us. The home met our expectations.
House was clean, and the backyard looked like we were tucked away in a secluded forest. The kitchen was very well-stocked with cookware, appliances, utensils, coffee and spices. The beds were comfortable and warm. The bathrooms were stocked with soap, shampoo & conditioner, insect repellant, no body lotion. The fireplace in the living room was wonderful especially when we woke up one morning to 46 degrees....brrrr! The water filter system makes a few funky noises for a short while early in the morning, otherwise the house is very quiet.
House is 5 minutes away from Volcano National Park, so we went in & out a couple of times. It was convenient to drive in to see the glow of the volcano at night without having to drive far in the dark. Unfortunately, the evening was cloudy, otherwise the night sky can be spectacular! We enjoyed the visit to the art gallery next to the Visitor's Center, where there's lots of stuff by local artists.
The Farmers Market in Volcano Village was fun with produce, local crafts and ready-to-eat food. It opens 6:30 - 10:00am.
We had a great time in the house & wish we could've stayed longer!
5 minutes from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The home of Kilauea volcano, one of the most active volcanoes on earth... and miles of stunning hiking trails.
