This is not a Cabin - Come Enjoy our 2600 SF Year Round Home on the Lake Front

Bedrooms 4
Space 2,600 sq ft
Property type house
Minimum Stay 7 nights

About the property

This is a 2600+ square foot 2.5 story colonial with 106 feet of Waterfront.

This 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom home was rebuilt from the ground up just over 10 years ago. Prior to it's reconstruction the home was a 'summer cabin.' We now have a 2600sf year-round 4 season home to offer you all the comforts of modern day living. (Flat Screen TV's, Wifi, Cable TV Service). Unlike most homes on our block, this location enjoys over a half acre of gently sloped property with minimal steps to the home and waterfront. The home sits just 25 feet off the lake's edge. You do not need to cross any roads to access the dock or water front. We also have a 6 car driveway on the same side of the street as the home (and water). There are no dangerous street crossings or severely sloped access points. Black Point Road is a dead end street - no through traffic.

Room Setup

There are two bedrooms on the main/first floor, 1 bedroom on the second floor and a half bedroom/loft with futon on the 3rd floor. The two main floor bedrooms each contain a small dresser, closet, small flat screen TV and window air conditioners. One bedroom has a queen bed the other has a double bed.

The second floor is a beautiful master suite, improved with 600sf of area space, a full bathroom, king sized bed, two dressers, a sitting area with couch and wing chairs, television and a spiral staircase serving as access to the third floor loft. The entire westerly facing side of this room is windowed, with 24 hour views of the lake, mountains and the stars.

The third floor loft contains a futon, sitting area (couch) and atrium doors serving as access to the third floor's deck, facing the lake.

Outside, guests will enjoy a 500 square foot deck, including a propane fueled BBQ and swing with seating for 3. Enjoy the beautiful views, calming sounds of the waves, birds and breeze as your feet dangle on the swing.

In addition, rental of this home includes access to a beautiful 'L-shaped' dock, with a staircase entrance to the water. Bring your books, your gonna breeze through them as you relax on our Adirondack chairs. If you own or rent a boat, you can easily pull up to the dock for your family and friends to board. When you are done boating for the day, we have provided a mooring about 50 feet off the dock for you to store the boat. Do not tie the boat to the dock overnight as it can cause damage to both the dock and your boat. We have also provided a twin jet ski lift for those of you who have jet skis. The Jet Ski's can sit safely on the lift overnight, but must be lifted up out of the water.

Many homes on Lake George use the lake as it's domestic water supply (drinking, bathing etc.). This home is equipped with a deep well from 250 feet below the surface, providing pristine, soft water.

About Gregory and Kathleen Hild

My wife and I purchased this home in 1998 with plans to retire to the beautiful Adirondacks. We have since retired and are blessed to be able to share this beautiful home with our family and friends.

Gregory and Kathleen Hild purchased this house in 1998

Why Gregory and Kathleen Hild chose Putnam Station

We had been renting on Black Point road for over a decade, and fell in love with the location. Since our purchase in 1998, the home under went a complete reconstruction. We kept the character and feel of the Adirondacks, but added the amenities that most year-round homes enjoy today.

What makes this house unique

Unlike the majority of the neighboring homes on our block, this home sits on a very minor slope towards the water. This makes the home safer, and more easily accessible for elderly people and young children. This serves as a priceless benefit to us, as we are proud grandparents.

Beautiful Home On Lake George

  • 5 of 5

We have been vacationing at Lake George for many years, but this was our first experience with a rental home and it was a very positive one! This lovely lakefront home has a dock with sitting area, along with a boat mooring which we used for our boat that we towed from home. The lake has clean, clear water and the lake bottom is sandy. This lake is fabulous for boating, swimming, all kinds of water sports, fishing, etc. This home’s yard is beautifully landscaped and flat which was perfect for lawn games. The neighborhood is quiet and the road has low traffic making it safe for walking and biking. The house is very clean, very well-maintained and beautifully decorated. The floor plan is open with lots of seating, yet there are quiet areas for reading, conversations and napping! The kitchen is well stocked with dishes, utensils, glassware, trays, pots, pans, bowls, large and small appliances, etc. The dining table easily sits 8 for meals or games plus offers extensive views of the beautiful lake. And it was very helpful to have a washer/dryer! The large deck includes a propane grill, a propane firepit for cool evenings, a table with umbrella and chairs and a 3-seater swing! We were joined by our children and grandchildren and everyone felt very comfortable. This home is located near Ticonderoga, NY with easy access to hiking, restaurants, grocery store, and many area attractions. One day we drove over to Middlebury, VT to visit a winery, a brewery, shopping, Middlebury College and dinner which was lovely. The wonderful owners graciously answered all our questions and were very welcoming when we arrived. They showed us all around the house, both inside and outside and made sure we were comfortable. We had a most enjoyable vacation at this beautiful home on gorgeous Lake George.

Wow, what a great house right on the lake!!!

  • 5 of 5

My daughter's wedding was in Ticonderoga, on Lake George, this past August!! From start to finish in my search for a place to stay, I knew this was the ideal place for our families vacation getaway for the wedding! The owners were personable, flexible, and I felt a connection during our first conversation! The home exceeded our expectations as a vacation rental, and above and beyond for a pre-wedding destination!! The home is lovely, and the dock and deck were large enough to accommodate our family and visiting guests! We had many wonderful star filled nights sitting on the dock, and enjoyed the fire-pit on the deck! We had a night before wedding "pizza dinner" with family and friends and the house had ample space for all to have a great time!! The view from the house is spectacular, and lake frontage allowed for lots of swimming, fishing, and sunning!! The layout of the house allows for all to; play games, hang together, large kitchen allowing all to cook together, and plenty of nooks and crannies for quite escape times! Everyone who stayed at the house, and family and friends who just stopped by, loved the house and a few took the info with an interest to rent this summer! We couldn't have found a more beautiful, perfect place to stay for our daughters wedding week!! Felt like home to us all!!! Our whole family recommends this rental as a beautiful "home away from home"!

Fantastic home and rental experience!

  • 5 of 5

This was a pleasurable experience starting with the communication between myself and the owners who answered all our questions immediately. The owners went out of their way to meet us at the home and show us around. This home far exceeded our expectations with room for my entire family. The home sits right on the lake with a dock and mooring for easy access to our boat which we towed up. The launch and inspection station were located less than a mile away and I was able to store my trailer there for the week. The outdoor deck provided ample seating for outdoor grilling. The gas fire pit on the deck was a lovely benefit for nighttime gathering on the deck. When we walked in the side door it felt like our vacation home. The open concept allowed us to cook in the kitchen while the grandkids were always in view. The interior was newly repainted and the floor and moldings refinished. The homes location near area attractions made for easy day trips when we weren't out on the lake enjoying the boating and fishing. One storm came through and knocked out the power to most of the street. The owner immediately contacted us and gave instructions on starting the emergency generator, which provided limited power to the essential appliances. The power was restored in a timely manner so kudos to PSEG. The owner again contacted us in the a.m. to make sure everything was ok. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a nicer vacation home and overall experience. We would highly recommend this home for other families seeking a wonderful vacation in beautiful Lake George.

Fantastic home and great location on Lake George!!

  • 5 of 5

This was my family's first visit to Lake George and we couldn't have picked a better home to spend our vacation there. The house is right on the water and set back a bit from the road and has great views from the many windows on the lakefront side of the house. The large deck allows for outdoor grilling and a nice entertainment venue. The house is located on the Fort Ticonderoga end of the lake which is known as the "quiet" end and is perfect for a vacation with children. The water is crystal clear and the bottom is nice and sandy with a gradual slope. The kitchen is well-stocked and the home is very comfortable with a big dining room table to enjoy family dinners. After dinner, you can enjoy the large screen TV or curl up in a corner with a good book. To sum it up, a wonderful lakeside home in a great area to lay back and enjoy a nice summer's day.

Dock privileges are included with this rental. The lake is spectacular for swimming, water skiing and tubing. If you don't own a boat we highly recommend that you rent one from Snug Harbor Marina, 2.5 miles down the road. In addition to the dock, a mooring is provided 50 feet off the dock. A lift for 2 jet skis is also provided. Bring your jet ski's if you have them. Finally, we are fortunate enough to have sandy bottom waterfront and crystal clear water. There is no mud or muck. Water shoes are great but not required to enjoy this location.
