This modern eco-hOMe is the perfect place to enjoy your time in Asheville! It is the first certified Hempcrete home in America! We are walking distance to a Greenway and bustling Haywood Rd in W AVL, and a short drive to all the major attractions!.

Modern 2 Bedroom hOMe with private entrance in Eco-Fabulous Home called the Nauhaus ((website hidden)), which was designed as a model for urban sustainability.

It features passive solar energy, a living roof, and hemp-crete walls which make it naturally cool in the summer and warm in the winter, and keeps the space extra quiet.

Come experience the next level of 'Green Living' in one of America's first-ever HEMP Homes!! Learn more about the design by Googling 'Nauhaus Institute'.

The home has 2 bedrooms; one with a queen size bed and the other with a queen size organic futon bed, with decks off both bedrooms overlooking the backyard with fire pit, full of trees and wildlife such as birds, squirrels, rabbits, hawks, and occasional fox and deer. A year round creek with hobbit style bridge, connects to nature trail, leading to the Hominy Creek Greenway.

The home also has a beautiful tiled bathroom, with bathtub and shower, an open design large living room boasting a cathedral ceiling, with sitting area and fully equipped kitchen, also a dinner table, and an extra sleeping area in the loft in case you have children or additional guests, tall french doors opening outside that provide lots of sunlight and fresh air during the day, and a private front porch with table and chairs for outdoor dining and enjoying drinks of your choice.

Complete with all the amenities of home; all within a rustic setting, surrounded by nature, with a creek running through the backyard, as well as close access to the Greenway trail along the Hominy Creek (river) , and walking distance from Haywood Road / West Asheville Village, and 5 mi to both downtown Ashe-ville and the Biltmore Estate and Village.

We are on a very quiet street, just a few houses down from the West Asheville Park. and a fifteen minute walk to the Farmer's market, health food store, local bakery, coffee shop, music venues, yoga studios, and amazing restaurants all within a mile!

This location is perfect!!

Sleeps up to 5, with 1 Queen size bed in the master bedroom, 1 queen size bed in the room downstairs, as well as sleeping area in the loft, or living room. Children and babies welcome, we have plenty of toddler gear to utilize during your stay.

We are a friendly and conscious young family with a baby who live closeby. We love hosting and providing brochures, ideas, and tips about local attractions.

Asheville loves LOCAL.. and so do we, so we provide local organic Silvermoon chocolates, a craft microbrew or two, and sometimes Buchi kombucha upon your arrival!

You may enjoy sitting on the front porch, walking to the neighborhood park, bustling Haywood Rd., or the adjoining walking trail.

We are here to support your travels and stay with us in case you need anything.

Guest Access

Guests have access to their fully furnished home, which is a unique and dynamic hemp-crete dwelling. The front porch is ideal for enjoying beautiful mountain weather. The parking area is off road in gravel area, and there are steps leading to the front porch. Also, there is a backyard, and bridge crossing the creek with connected walking path.

Interaction with Guests

I enjoy greeting our guests upon arrival.

And, will give a walkthrough of the home when available. I have many recommendations, and ideas of activities and restaurants in the area. I am then readily available via text or phone call, as needed. We live in a home close by, so are easily accessible.

The Neighborhood

Our neighborhood is very family friendly. There are often families walking with children and pets. The West Asheville Park is a short 3 minute walk at the end of our street. And, the bustling Haywood Rd is a convenient 15 minute walk through the park and down residential Vermont Ave.

Getting around

There is public transit on Haywood Rd, and I believe Brevard Rd if needed. We offer off street parking close to our home. The Asheville Airport is only about a 15 minute drive from our place. There is a taxi service, and car rentals are available at the airport and in town if needed. I will also Be driving for Uber very soon, so may request my services if needed.

We love being so close to all major attractions, shopping, and restaurants, yet be able to come home to such a peaceful abode nestled in the trees, with a flowing creek in our backyard, and a trail with 'hobbit' style bridge across the creek, through the woods, and to the Hominy Creek Greenway.

Also, love sitting outside on the back deck or porch, or the front porch with cushioned furniture with candlelight listening to nature's orchestra, watching the fireflies, and on a clear night the majestic starlit sky!

Owner very amenable to our late arrival. We didn't spend much time in the home as we were out exploring Asheville, but the beds were comfortable, the kitchen well stocked and the owner very accommodating.

Great urban location, unique architecture, private and peaceful

Nauhaus is in an established, very nice community neighborhood in funky and fun West Asheville, where the locals hang out b/c they've fled crowded downtown. It's offset street location lends privacy to this well-known home lauded for its environmental building techniques. The owners are very responsive to all contact. The interior of the home is lovely, with attractive high-end design elements (the ceiling fans, the reclaimed wood doors, the bathroom vanity, the painted textured hempcrete walls) that exude modern bohemian rustic. Its very peaceful, the front porch in the early mornings is a super star feature, and this home wins at the feeling of allowing the outside in with great natural light, windows that all open, a high ceiling and multiple porches. You don't have a mountain view (although the properties backyard abuts the very green neighborhood trail entry which is a lovely inclining walk), but if you want a feel of the outside, lush green views, while staying inside urban West Asheville and a 5 min drive into downtown Asheville, this is a smart pick. My few criticisms was the backyard firepit was overgrown and not welcoming to gather in that area (which is an easy landscaping fix by the owners), we were unaware of the black ant invasion in mountain kitchens, so we learned quickly to keep our food off the counters and that issue resolved. The downstairs 1 BR unit tenent (who were super nice people) had a young child who cried very LOUD every morning and there was no sound filter to that kind of noise. I would recommend Nauhaus - it has so much to offer with location, great restaurants/shops nearby, and in its fierce upscale architectural uniqueness.

Great Location, Quiet House in a Great Neighborhood

We stayed at the NauHaus for a week. It was clean, well stocked. The yard is beautiful and my two year old loved playing in the creek and back yard. JahSun is very helpful and insightful. We enjoyed getting to know West Asheville and loved walking around the neighborhood. It is very close driving to downtown and walking distance to the "downtown" area of West Asheville.

Quiet, soothing, AND eco-friendly!!!

My wife and I recently visited NauHaus for a long weekend in Asheville. Our experience at there was just what we had hoped. The passive-solar structure made with many natural materials was roomy, quiet, romantic, and so soothing. The wonderful energy was reflected by Jason and his family (caretakers of the property). The location was ideal for exploration of downtown and surrounding locales. The whole stay was a wonderful introduction to Asheville and its people and culture. A special treat for me given my interest in permaculture and sustainable living. I highly recommend!

My friends and I stayed at the NauHaus for a weekend trip to Asheville and really enjoyed our experience. It is located about 10 minutes from downtown, so it made commuting to restaurants and breweries very easy. The interior of the house was very clean, comfortable and unique. The owner JahSun was also extremely welcoming and offered many suggestions on local breweries and restaurants to check out. Overall we were very please with our stay and would definitely recommend it to others.

A few days in the "hills"

Staying at Nauhaus was a blissful experience. I would gladly do it again.

Clean, simple, quiet. It is a great place to read, write, contemplate, make plans, relax. As residents of Atlanta, a hustling and bustling city, I enjoyed every precious moment of time in Nauhaus. The neighborhood is charming too with many people out walking, strolling with children, or working in their front yards. It is easy to get to downtown Asheville, Biltmore Village and other interesting places from there. We ate 2 times at Bluepoint Oysters. Excellent both times; fresh oysters and beer brewed on site.
