Don’t forget to bring your camera! The views are ever changing. The kids, even big kids (adults), will enjoy viewing and even putting feed out for the gentle wildlife that are right outside the lodge's door! These furry residents include many deer, turkeys, and white squirrels. The Brevard area is known for white squirrels. The deer and turkey corn and almonds for the squirrels for feeding the animals is provided. Towels, linens, kitchenware and all basic items for your stay are provided.

There is only one small step for entry into the lodge on either level. Great for someone that may have some mobility limitations. About Bonnie & John

We visited the Asheville area for 25 years as vacationers like yourselves. Finally, we couldn't stand being away from this magnificent area even for a short while so we moved here permanently about 12 years ago and have never regretted it. So much to do and see! We want to share this wonderful area with you and your family. Caution: Most people fall in love with the mountains and have a very hard time leaving!

Bonnie & John purchased this lodge in 2005

Why Bonnie & John chose Smoky Mountains

This property is a rare combination of many things. We searched for a long time before finding this property. It has the most amazing year round views, quiet, secluded, gated community yet is only minutes from the main 5 lane road that gives easy access to Asheville, Hendersonville, and Brevard. We had this home built in 2005 to our specifications. Every window in this house has a great view! You literally feel like you are experiencing a piece of heaven because many days you are living above the clouds! We guarantee you will fall in love with the beauty of this area!

What makes this lodge unique

small community outside Louisville, KY

The property and house was gorgeous. The mountain views are breathtaking!

  • 5 of 5

The house provided a number of amenities; the kitchen was well stocked, five bedrooms allowed us to have plenty of room, and the game room provided us with plenty to do the two days it rained. We specially enjoyed the sunroom and deck areas. They were very comfortable and promoted relaxation. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely return!

Beautiful house on the mountain

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed the home. Very secluded in a neighborhood protected by gate. The views are phenomenal with morning views of the valley covered in mist. The home is very spacious with a kitchen fully stocked to prepare dinner. The downstairs has a small kitchen and a full sized refrigerator so you don't have to run upstairs for food. The pool table, air hockey and ping pong table were a favorite and all were in great condition. The hot tub on the back porch was a nightly hit. The owners were very nice and came to clear garbage and treat the hot tub during our stay. Couldn't have asked for a better location due to the proximity to Sierra Nevada brewery and airport.

Perfect family retreat

  • 5 of 5

This would have been the perfect house for a multi-family vacation even without getting to see the total eclipse! It is difficult to overstate how spectacular the view is and well set up the house is to enjoy it, inside and out. More generally, in excellent condition, great layout for multiple families (b/c two floors for privacy but very large common space). It's the kind of place where it would be easy to never leave and have a great few days. But the region has tons to do, e.g. easy access to Brevard for great meals & shopping (and our kids loved the gem mine) and the Blue Ridge Parkway for more spectacular views. Bonnie & John were super responsive, flexible, helpful, and nice. There isn't really any significant outdoor space on the property itself (beyond the very large deck), but tons nearby, including a hike up an access road that begins next to the house (though we did not have a chance to take it). Although the house is in a private development, it felt like we were all alone on the side of the mountain, with the benefit of easy access to amenities in Mills River including supermarket and local ice cream shop.

Everything you need is right there, never need to leave. Stunning sunrises. Gracious and attentive landlords. Rock on the porch overlooking mountains as far as you can see all day/night long.
