Overview

About the property

Spectacular Views! 5 Bedrooms, 3 Bathroom Mountain Top Lodge, Family Friendly

Secluded but very convenient, this lodge is surrounded by the Pisgah National Forest! MountainViews Lodge is 4450 sq. ft. and is located in a gated community at 3200 feet (which makes for the spectacular views) with a 2 lane paved gentle incline access road. Only minutes from the main 5 lane road that provides easy and direct access to the Asheville, Hendersonville, and Brevard areas! This warm and inviting lodge is surrounded by virgin forest and is just far enough away from the hustle and bustle to provide maximum relaxation, yet close enough to 3 different towns for you to enjoy all types of activities - everything from multiple waterfalls, hiking, fishing, golfing, scenic drives, restaurants, and shopping to many more activities.

This is a custom built 4450 sq. ft. two story lodge with an open floor plan. There is only one small step for entry on either level so this house is great for someone that may have some mobility limitations. There is a separate entrance to the lower level of the house for privacy or inside stairs to go from one level to another. Plenty of space to gather together with your group or lots of private spaces to get away and enjoy as well. High speed wireless internet is provided throughout lodge. Self sustaining whole house generator, central air. 2 car garage - parking for 4 cars total (no roadside parking or motorcycles allowed). There is a grocery nearby where other vehicles could be parked, if need be. The lodge is immaculately clean, clean, clean!

Enjoy the cool gentle breezes in the summer. The elevation of the lodge makes the air about 5 degrees cooler than in the towns during summertime. In fact, there really is no need for air conditioning most of the year. Imagine yourself having a busy day full of fun & activities but knowing you are coming back to relax in the serenity of the lodge.

The views are ever changing. Some mornings you are living above the clouds; sometimes the fog is wisping through the valley below; other times, you can see for miles. You may also see a small plane or helicopter flying through the valley and realize that they are at the same altitude that you are. It's like experiencing a piece of heaven.

About Bonnie & John

We visited the Asheville area for 25 years as vacationers like yourselves. Finally, we couldn't stand being away from this magnificent area even for a short while so we moved here permanently about 12 years ago and have never regretted it. So much to do and see! We want to share this wonderful area with you and your family. Caution: Most people fall in love with the mountains and have a very hard time leaving!

Bonnie & John purchased this lodge in 2005

Why Bonnie & John chose Smoky Mountains

This property is a rare combination of many things. We searched for a long time before finding this property. It has the most amazing year round views, quiet, secluded, gated community yet is only minutes from the main 5 lane road that gives easy access to Asheville, Hendersonville, and Brevard. We had this home built in 2005 to our specifications. Every window in this house has a great view! You literally feel like you are experiencing a piece of heaven because many days you are living above the clouds! We guarantee you will fall in love with the beauty of this area!

What makes this lodge unique

This property is unique as it actually sets in the Pisgah National Forest, has some of the best views in the area, and is so centrally located to all of the area's activities. Experience the wildlife around the lodge - visitors can leave the feed out for the gentle wildlife and watch them come close to the lodge.

Best Mountain Retreat!

  • 5 of 5

Stayed two nights with a group of friends, and everyone had only the best things to say about the home and the experience with John and Bonnie. They are the most hospitable hosts, and their home is immaculately clean and includes everything you need and then some. We would go back in a heartbeat, and I will definitely send any friends or family needing lodging to this listing. Wonderful experience! Some of our favorite things: sunrises from the great room are just gorgeous, the hot tub with amazing views, feeding animals in front of the house, the game room - air hockey/ping pong/billiards, and the attention to detail! Thanks again, John and Bonnie.

Definitely a Mountain Retreat....getaway in the clouds

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the house for a girls weekend. We had 9 women and the house was AMAZING!!! We could not have asked for more. The layout was perfect for us and allowed us to all gather in one place, be it the kitchen or the living room or the game room. Having the hot tub was such a great perk. John and Bonnie are the best of hosts. They gave a thorough introduction to the house, and the animals that call the area their home. We even had a Harvey (the white squirrel) siting and made sure she got her almonds. The house is set on a mountain top with a sweeping view that was so amazing to wake up to every morning. It's about 30 minutes from downtown which was fine with us as we drove down and spent the whole day. It's also really close to Sierra Nevada Brewery and two grocery stores. We really couldn't have asked for more.

MountainViews Lodge met and exceeded the need for our family time and holiday celebration

  • 5 of 5

Thank you Bonnie and John for sharing your home with this family of 10. It was perfect for our grandchildren in the gameroom downstairs and the older children in the sunroom. Hubby and I enjoyed the great room with the fireplace and 9 foot Christmas tree while we listened and enjoyed the sounds of family once again. The house itself was immaculate and very easy to keep that way. I loved watching the sunrise from bed every morning. All the amenities were well thought out and made my job easy. We enjoyed the deer, turkeys and Harvey. Found out if you are late getting up, Harvey will still show up for her almonds!
