"Primrose" at RIVERWALK...Private, cozy and immaculate! Spend a weekend or a week in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Great location for every season of the year!
Sit in one of the front porch rockers to enjoy the view of the Cane River and the horses in the pasture along the rivers border. At night, look up and be amazed by the abundant number of stars in the sky like you've never seen before.
What would a mountain cabin be without the scent and warmth of a wood burning fireplace? Each of our cabins has a wood burning fireplace. We provide free unlimited wood for our guest so you can enjoy cozy fires all day and all night, if you'd like.
If you demand comfort and ease while away from home, you'll find it here! Each kitchen is equipped as if it were our own for year round use. Tissue & toilet paper, paper towels, bath soap, dish soap, laundry soap, iron, blow dryer...it's all there. If you need something out of the ordinary, let us know. Chances are we can make it available. Once you check in we want you to sit back and relax.
Comfort, we demand it and so should you! Every guest will rest well in our beds. Our mattresses are all Simmons BeautyRest and guest continue to give our beds the highest marks. The master bedroom has a king bed and the loft provides the option of either 2 twin beds or a king. Simply specify your preference when booking the reservation. Each of the 2 floors has a full bathroom. A porta-crib is available upon request.
Get out and see the surrounding area or stay on the property for your entire vacation (which is what many repeat guests enjoy doing). All the property surrounding our cabins is family owned and available for exploration by our guests. The neighboring horse barn and horse riding arena are owned by Laura's parents, Paul & Judi Ewing (the original Riverwalk cabin owners). For a small fee, guest may book time with Judi and her horses. Kids especially get a kick out of learning how to care for and groom a horse.
Two private, family owned, riverside parks are available for guest use as well. Between these two parks guests can enjoy river tubing a youth zip line, built-in swimming pool, fabulous trout fishing, a LARGE fire pit and covered picnic pavilion with grill. Did I mention how fabulous our parks are for outdoor events? Weddings, family reunions, birthdays??? YES, FABULOUS!!!!
2-wheel drive vehicles are usually adequate to get to and from the cabins to the state road. If you have any difficulty whatsoever, we live just around the corner and are available to help you 24/7.

Why Laura Watrous, Property Manager chose Pensacola
Year round comfort and fun: Star gaze any time of year, listen to the sound of the river cascading over the rapids as the evening crickets compete with the sound in the Spring and Summer. Enjoy the abundance of color throughout the Riverwalk property in the Fall. The relatively mild Winters allow for lengthier hikes and cloudless skies (plus the occasional opportunity to sled down the driveway)...Primrose offers premium lodging in a location which makes the most out of why a Blue Ridge Mountain vacation is great any time of the year.
What makes this Cabin unique
Primrose cabin is private yet convenient to features not available anywhere else. This cabin sits just above the Cane River. The view from the front porch is of the river as well as of the horse pasture which borders the river. Guests of Riverwalk also have access to two privately owned riverside parks which cater to our guests. One with pool & playground, the other with picnic pavilion, river tubes, large fire pit and youth zip line. There are 200+ acres of hiking and exploring right on the Riverwalk property. Neighboring farm with people friendly horses, donkeys and a goat. Farm owner offers horse 'time' for a small fee. Riverwalk is close to Blue Ridge Parkway, Mount Mitchell and The Pisgah National Forest (pedestrian, bike, equestrian trails).

Really loved this cabin!
This was one of the nicest cabins I believe we've ever rented. Beautiful, private and peacful location with a view of the river and mountains. Looks practically brand new inside. The loft bed slept wonderfully. Very, very comfortible bed. Nice deck with hot tub that overlooks the river. Just a great little cabin! Highly recommended!!!
Clean, comfortable, cozy cabin. Great hot tub.
My husband and I brought our 8 month old daughter on a family vacation to this great cabin and what was even more amazing was we were able to bring along our dog! We loved taking walks down the road along the river which had rolling rapids and the views on the walk were breath taking. The fire place with free wood made this cold weekend so special as we spent two nights by firelight in the cabin.
The local downtown is easily accessible for all basic needs and the simple drive to Asheville makes a night out possible. We are already planning a return trip in the summertime because of the incredible amenities this place has to offer. You won’t regret it if you book this place!
Beautiful mountain river view, very clean, well accomodated, and close to many activities.
This place is snuggled next to a mountain hill overlooking a river giving an exlusive private view of the mountain community below. There were plenty of things to do in the area and many great places to eat. It was easy to covet the best mountain cabin we have stayed in ever, and it was so sad to leave it behind at the end of our stay. Recommend this place six out of five stars!
This was the perfect little place with a ton of privacy. It was excellent size for two but four could fit easily. It had all the required comforts of home and was really well maintained. We plan to return.
Relaxing and fun.
The Primrose cabin had everything we needed. It was just the two of us, but four could be very comfortable. The cabin was very clean and well maintained. The weather was unusually cold and snowy while we were there and we actually had a "snow day" so we enjoyed the fireplace and hot tub. Burnsville has everything you need but we were also close enough to spend time in Weaverville and drove over to Waynesville as well. Reservation process was smooth and we would recommend this property.
Primrose Cabin is located in the small community of Riverwalk. Riverwalk is equally balanced between many adventurous mountain activities like hiking, river rafting, zip lining, snow skiing and snow tubing, the Blue Ridge Parkway (Mt Mitchell, Grandfather Mountain, Crabtree Falls, Alta Pass Apple Orchard...) and the city of Asheville, home of the infamous Biltmore Estate. Burnsville, the town in which Primrose is located is in a "Dark Sky" area so on a clear night you can see every star in the sky there is to see...amazing!
