A galley fully-equipped kitchen.
A dining area with dining table for up to eight, with 2 separate stools.
There are 4 bedrooms plus 1 guest room, all King beds. Your booking is for 4 bedroom only. The reason I want to rent out only 4 bedrooms is to keep a small group. Queen bedding sheet set is provided if group is 11 or 12 people.

The house has tall ceiling, antique heart pine hardwood floor, and big windows in every rooms. Guests have no access to 2nd floor porch and locked areas.
This is an old house with basic accommodation. Owner lives on the premises. This is not a luxury rental and I want to share it with people who want to visit Charleston. Security camera on site. The house was built in 1852 (pre civil war) with a lot of historic charms. It is not a party house. No grill allowed. This is an old house with old house smell, creaking hardwood floor, traffic noise… so please don’t expect a lot. The nightly rate is priced accordingly due to the condition of the house. This is a basic place for you to sleep after spending a long day outside. Charleston is diversified and this is a mixed-income neighborhood which has high levels of racial, ethnic and income diversity. The house is next to a middle and low income housing complex. If you expect for a perfect rental, please book a hotel in historic downtown.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

Historic Home

We enjoyed our stay. It is an older historic home which is what we were seeking. Management was good to work with. We would rent again.

Solid house with easy walking distance to many Charleston activities

The house is old but that’s to be expected in that historic area. Lots of bedroom space. The common area is a little small but serviceable. Beds were comfortable and clean. Convenient to have parking right there.

Walking DIstance Historical House

When I booked, I didn't realize that the house pre-dated the Civil War. It retains a lot of it's original construction and charm. (Of course, the utilities are modern) The Market was a few minutes walk as was the rest of the French Quarter and King Street. I would stay here again.

Very Disappointed - Beware, the photos are very old

The photos of this property made it appear that the house was charming. The photos must be old. There was broken furniture, stained rugs and carpet, sagging and dusty sofas, wires hanging all over the place, drawers in the kitchen didn't open right or close, the porch was sagging (we couldn't access the 2nd floor balcony due to locks-hoped there was no fire). In areas where they added locks and fixtures, the old ones were just left in place. The bathrooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors are are only accessible through the bedroom (you have to go through someones bedroom to access the bathroom). We felt like we were in a frat house. I could go on and on and although the location was convenient for downtown and the college we tried not to stay in the house too much as it was very uncomfortable.

Girls weekend away

Worked out great for the 5 of us on our girls weekend away. As described, it is a "no frills" type of house however it had what we were looking for: 5 bedrooms all with king sized beds which were all very comfortable, a common space for us to be able to have coffee/hang out together and it was a great spot to be able to walk everywhere. We all had plenty of towels and the bathrooms were well accommodated with shampoo, conditioner, hair dryer and cotton balls to remove makeup. Also- there is a coffee shop literally 2 doors down which was great for us to be able to grab coffee, muffins or scones from in the mornings. The only little blip was that the outlets in the bedroom off the bathroom on the 2nd floor did not work. The owner was quickly responsive to my message about this and advised that I reset the breaker however this did not work. One of us had brought a long extension cord so this didn't end up being an issue however might be something they may want to look into getting fixed. All in all, a great stay and I would definitley recommend!

Great Location

There are a lot of positives with this house but I wish I was prepared for the negatives. The location is perfect. More than five stars for how easy it is to walk to King Street, restaurants and more. The communications with the owner were great. The four bedrooms are very large. It's an old charming home so the bedrooms, with the exception of one, don't have closets. Two bedrooms have full baths but that means people staying in the other two bedrooms have to use someone else's full bath. That's fine, just good to know beforehand. Some of the bedrooms have only one working outlet. This is easy to workaround. The kitchen is not particularly usable. You will be three doors down from an amazing coffee shop and just two blocks from everything so you don't need to use the kitchen. The combination living room/dining room is not conducive to hanging out. The couches look like they've been through a hundred frat parties and my friends and I would not sit on them. We covered them with blankets and still wouldn't sit on them. The walls have been patched so many times you get the feeling it may have been a frat house at one time, The "restrooms" sign from Home Depot leading you to a tiny half bath contributes to that frat house feeling. My friends and I spent very little time in the house and we made the best of it. We wish we had known that the house is very worn.

Roomy and great location

This is a rare 5 bedroom house in Charleston. It is walking distance to all the shops and restaurants in addition to Gibbes etc. There is a great coffee shop a couple doors down for breakfast. The house is really big with huge rooms. There are a lot of original features like doorknobs and windows which we loved. It was easy to check in, and nice that we didn’t have to figure out keys. Two bedrooms are on the third floor which was fine for out group, but worth keeping in mind.

Convenient and Accommodating

We had a great time at this home and it was perfect for our purpose. Location is wonderful and you're able to walk almost everywhere. There was a cute coffee shop just a few doors down. The manager was responsive. The bedrooms were large and comfortable, although not all of the power outlets were functional and not every room has a dresser or closet. The full bathrooms were clean but only accessible through two of the bedrooms. We were a close group and that wasn't a big issue for us, but others may want more privacy. There was strangely no pepper or other spices for cooking (only 2 containers of salt). Temperatures were inconsistent, which is expected in an older home. Overall, we were very happy with our stay.

Historical and walkable

This was a great property for a family reunion and a taste of Charleston. The historical feel of the house put us immediately in the mood to explore. The bedrooms were large and the beds dreamy. The main room was perfect for gathering although it could use a little updating. Because it was an older house the shared bathrooms were reached through a bedroom but since we were family we managed just fine. A big plus is that we were able to walk everywhere in the historical part of the city. Bob was a great host responding promptly to our questions and requests. Thank you for the great recommendations. We did find that reservations a head are needed for some of the restaurants.

Great location

Great location. Home is old but we enjoyed its historical charm. We were able to walk everywhere. Coffee shop on the same block. Large rooms with king sized beds. If you had children, plenty of room for a pack and play. Has a washer dryer and upstairs bathrooms were very large. Has an iron. Ironing board. Lots of pots pans. 2 coffee makers. Dishwasher. Wine opener. A pizza cutter would have been nice. Central heat and air. Bathroom has shampoo and soap dispenser. Plenty of space for our party of 11. Only issue we had is some of the bedroom outlets weren’t functioning. it didn’t really cause a problem we just charged our phones in the living room. Contacted the owner who was responsive and scheduled an electrician visit. First floor bedroom has lots of windows close to the sidewalk with some noise from people walking by. I used a white noise app on my phone and was fine. Overall pretty quiet. There was a group staying in the carriage house and we didn’t hear anything. If you have light sleepers the back rooms are very quiet. Overall great experience and would stay here again!

Cute and clean house with an amazing owner.

Bob and his house made our girls' weekend a huge success. Everything was an easy 5 to 15 minute walk. We loved having the coffee shop next door and went there every morning. Just be careful when walking down the wooden steps, but otherwise it was quiet and the king beds are SUPER comfortable. Oh, and plenty of towels and soap and shampoo dispensers in showers. Thank you Bob for your quick replies and excellent recommendations. We will stay at Bob's again when we come back!

True to life historic Charleston home within walking distance of most things you want to see in historic district. Had a great time!

This house has very big bedrooms and every couple had their own room which was very nice. The bathrooms are on one side of the house, so yes, you do need to go through another bedroom to access that. But I was with family so it worked out fine. Its a very old house so you have to expect a few challenges. We were very satisfied with the location. We actually did not spend a lot of time in the house since we were out exploring the City's bars and restaurants....and there are plenty of those to visit! The owner was very easy to deal with and no issues at all.
