(NOTE: Possibly looking for corporate or other long term renter beginning fall of 2011.)
Located just five minutes north of downtown Seattle on Queen Anne Hill, this comfortable home sits in a quiet, leafy area just four blocks from all the shopping, restaurants and services this neighborhood has to offer. Walking is what guests do here, whether it's around the hill enjoying views of downtown, the Space Needle, Mount Rainier, the Olympic and Cascade mountain ranges and Puget Sound, or simply taking in the sights and sounds of the streets, homes, parks, and people of this community.
Downtown is an easy ten minute bus ride on the Number Three or Four Metro, where world class shopping awaits, and you're only five minutes away from the biotech, research, office and retail hub of South Lake Union. Enjoy a Seattle Mariners or Seahawks game, a play or opera at the Seattle Center. Take a walk to the waterfront, where a Washington State ferry will take you across Puget Sound to Bainbridge Island and lunch and shopping in Winslow. Venture on the high speed ferry to Victoria, British Columbia for the day. A car is not necessary for a stay here. Taxi or shuttle from the airport to the house and walk or use public transportation for all your city adventures.
At the end of the day, you'll return to this comfortable and extensively remodeled two bedroom 1920 Craftsman bungalow that has a quiet and very private professionally landscaped backyard garden. Cook in the kitchen (gas range and convection oven), barbeque on the deck or eat in one of the ten restaurants ("How to Cook a Wolf", recently reviewed in Sunset Magazine, is three blocks away) and bars available within a ten minute walk. Several takeout stores provide an excellent variety of meals to take home, and A & J Meats (three blocks away) has one of the best selections of fish and meat in the city. And since you're in Seattle, there are three coffee shops within a five minute walk.
This is the place for whatever brings you to Seattle: a business conference, family reunion, the University of Washington (ten minutes) or Seattle Pacific University (five minutes) or just a vacation week in Seattle, where the sun does shine in our Mediterranean-like summers. But bring your umbrella just in case.
NOTE: We are very careful with the guests we rent to. This is a residential neighborhood and we are respectful of the neighbors and their peace and quiet.
Also, possibly looking for long term corporate or other renter beginning fall of 2011.
VRBO/Other residential trades considered. Please ask about our Makaha Valley, Hawaii condo, located on the island of Oahu.

A little bit of "Heaven" in a wonderful neighbourhood

My wife and I and our two teenager daughters stayed at this home for a week in August, and absolutely loved it. It was exactly as described in the listing, and is a beautiful, well laid out home that is in excellent shape. There was plenty of room for all four of us, and our girls had enough space upstairs for sleeping and just hanging out. The backyard is very private with amazing natural beauty, and was a nice spot at the beginning of the day to enjoy our coffee and a great spot later in the day to enjoy a beer. Very relaxing. The neighbourhood is charming, and my wife and I would go for walks every evening just to get a taste of Queen Anne. The owner is an absolute gentleman, who was good at communicating with us, and provided good advice on places to visit in the neighborhood - there's some great local coffee shops and restaurants. Seattle is a great place to visit with plenty of places for toursists to go. But having the chance to stay in this home, in the Queen Anne neighbourhood with all it's charm, REALLY made our vacation memorable. It was a wonderful place to stay.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 days and it was a truly wonderful experience. The house was exactly as described on the website. We walked in the door and felt like we never wanted to leave. It was beautifully decorated, immaculate, and welcoming, down to the smallest detail. The kitchen and bathroom were well-stocked: full set of herbs and spices, sugar, condiments in the fridge, etc., soap, shampoo, hand cream, robes. There were many maps and brochures of places of interest - no need to buy a Seattle guidebook. We would go out in the mornings and then look forward to coming back in the afternoons to relax. The deck overlooking the lush (and private) backyard was our place for afternoon coffee every day (I may have also eaten a few of the ripe cherry tomatoes growing on the deck!). In addition, making the reservation and arrangements with the owner was very easy and convenient. He gave us helpful suggestions, and afforded us the ultimate privacy. The neighborhood is upper Queen Anne, on top of the hill, and while the house in just a few blocks away from the main drag, because it is on a dead end street, it is quiet and private. This location was perfect as a "base" for us to explore the entire city. At first, we parked our car in the street in front of the house, but got tired of U-turning so we ended up parking it on the wider street right around the corner (literally two houses away). I can't say enough good things about the house and the owner. This was the perfect getaway.

This lovely home was perfect for a week's visit to Seattle. I normally stay in a condo downtown, but this location was a nice change and the shops and restaurants of Queen Ann provided all the eating, shopping, and drinking locations we needed! The backyard was like our own private park and it was nice to be away from the noise of downtown. Plus, parking was free!

A charming house in a great location. Beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable, in a very quiet neighborhood. Within walking distance to the wonderful restaurants and shops on Queen Anne, a great neighborhood to explore in itself. Easy access to downtown Seattle by car or by bus. The deck and beautifully landscaped backyard served as a wonderful retreat after a day of hiking, or touring the city. The owner was extremely helpful with lots of suggestions for great places to eat on Queen Anne, as well as hikes in the area. There is one full bath, located off the master bedroom, and a half bath off the upstairs bedroom, so whoever stays upstairs will need to use the shower off the master bedroom. This was not a problem for our group of 3, all related. This house was just perfect for our week in Seattle. We will definitely return here on our next visit.

Located in a cozy, quiet Queen Anne neighborhood, this charming, compact home is beautifully appointed with hardwood floors, stylish contemporary kitchen, low voltage lighting, and interesting architectural detailing. We particularly enjoyed the generous, bright dining room. The master bedroom and stone-tiled bathroom are on the main floor; upstairs is a second bedroom with small partial bath and a separate TV/Media room. Off the kitchen and breakfast nook, a large deck overlooks the beautifully landscaped yard. We loved staying here!
