This Home was featured as Log Home of the month in Log Home Livings Magazine's! Check out the link below for the article and more pictures.
The 'Log getaway' is a 1200 square foot log cabin made with 18' average diameter hand crafted logs, soaring cathedral ceilings, a huge master loft with log bed, stainless steel appliances, copper sinks, stone shower, and wide plank wood floors.
I look at the cabin as an artist's retreat and as the owners we use it to create and display our art ( I am a photographer from Santa Barbara).
We just installed a brand new 50'' LCD Flatscreen TV with lots of viewing choices including DirectTV, Netflix, and a DVD Collection!
We are just one hour north of the San Fernando Valley, one hour south of Bakersfield, and 15 miles west of Frazier Park. Pine Mountain Club is truly an undiscovered paradise that is so close to the big city!
Our cabin is perfect for one or two couples or a small family so we cannot accommodate more than four (4) occupants at any one time. Heat for the cabin is provided by a cozy gas fireplace/stove.
There is beautiful hiking to a magical waterfall just a short walk up the road and you can enjoy the snow in the winter as we are at 6500'feet elevation (which keeps it cool in the summer as well)! A 9-hole PGA executive golf course and a quaint village center with shopping and restaurants are just 5 minutes away.
Due to this elevation the CHP requires that you carry chains when there is a chance for snow. Check the PMC link below for weather and road condition information and links for more information. Due to the high fire danger no smoking is allowed on the property.
The loft has a king bed and there is a very comfy queen pull out in the first floor bedroom/TV room. High speed wireless and a Mac computer with high speed internet is provided. A speaker system with sub-woofer is also supplied for hook up to your laptop or IPOD (a dock is supplied). There is also a collection of games, poker chips, a large DVD collection and Satellite TV.
We have put our heart and soul into this place and now we hope others can enjoy it too!
See what our guests have to say (taken directly from our guest book):
'This place provided a well needed getaway for us. It felt like we were worlds away from the city and we were happy to see that our cell phones don’t work here. We enjoyed our slippery hike to the falls up the street and all the other trails in the area. Thank you so much for providing us such a beautiful place to stay and for allowing our puppy dog to enjoy it with us.'
Rob, Cat & Bella, Marin County, CA
'Sunday morning in the cabin. This is the perfect mountain getaway with all the comforts necessary for my husband and our youngest daughter and their two adorable young girls. The rustic and artistic qualities of your cabin have inspired us to consider spending more weekends in the mountains as a family. The tranquility and scenic beauty, including patches of snow, encouraged us to slow down and listen to the magic of nature.'
Sue, Los Angeles, CA
'Thank you for sharing your great place with us. Truly, these two days in this cabin were some of the best in all our lives. We’re taking nothing but great memories from this unforgettable log cabin. Your artworks are amazing and they made us feel at home.
Thank you again…'
Henry and Company, Los Angeles, CA
'This has been the most peaceful trip we have ever been on! We were hoping that we would get snowed in for a couple of weeks, but unfortunately there was not a cloud in the sky. The two days we were here were equal to months of normal relaxation. We really appreciate your talents and attention to detail in this place. It’s very inspiring! From the amazing design of the cabin to the set of binoculars sitting by the window, it seems like a huge amount of thought and love was put into everything here. We also loved your photography, art and pottery. Thank you for sharing all of these things with us and creating an unforgettable experience which we will always remember dearly. Hopefully we will be back and we will bring our cat next time!'
Your friends Jared and Tamra, Simi Valley, CA
We never imagined coming up here that we’d ever get to stay at a place like this….. It has to be the most beautiful house we’ve ever been in. we have 2 kids 4&7, and we brought them here to have a great vacation and your place just made it that much more special.
Now that we know your place is here we will be back a lot more……Also you should know it's such a great price and we just can’t wait to come back!
Thank you so much Alito and Luke, Pasedena, CA

We enjoyed our stay very much. The cabin is a work of art. It was fun to discover all the lovely touches. Obviously a well loved project and so nice to be able to share and appreciate it. The manager was very helpful in answering our questions. We loved the walk to the waterfall that was nearby.Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway.

When we walked in, our first impression was that this cabin is the pride and joy of the owners. There are handmade works of art and ceramics throughout, right down to the coffee mugs. Clean puppy bowls already out & ready for canine companions, extra blankets & flannel sheets ready for those snowy nights. I would recommend bringing your own SD card reader or USB cable for uploading pictures you take while there, there is a computer to use to view them for the MAC-literate. Water pressure is pretty low so don't plan any amazing spa-like showers after playing in the snow, but definitely snuggle up in front of the gas stove, it cranks out some toasty heat and is relaxing to just watch the flames from the ultra-comfy furniture with any one of the many magazines or books available. Definitely read the welcome book and contents of the guest basket, it's full of great info and pictures of the construction of the cabin itself and stories/magazine articles featuring the cabin. We were snowed in for one day and were so content, didn't want to go anywhere or do anything other than just enjoy the cabin and glittering snow. The upstairs bed has a Ralph Lauren featherbed topper on it and is cozy with an amazing open view right out the huge front windows and skylights above the bed, you'll sleep more peacefully than you have in years and wake up rejuvenated from the pure bliss of the location.Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

What a wonderful getaway... this cabin is a MUST for those seeking a peaceful, well-appointed, and oh-so-cozy little escape. The home is *literally* straight out of a magazine, and the owners have overlooked nothing. Had it not been for the area's gorgeous hiking trails we could have happily spent the entire time indoors! Thank you for such a pleasant and memorable holiday. :)Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This place was exactly what I needed. I am a writer and I was under a deadline. I found myself unable to focus in the busy city. Luckily I found this hand-crafted masterpiece that allows for complete seclusion and peace of mind. It was exactly what I needed to focus on my writing. The amenities in the town nearby are very limited but as long as you plan accordingly and bring most of what you need, it's no issue. Oh, and my dog had an absolutely lovely time as well.Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway.

This was our second stay in this beautiful log cabin. What a wonderful place to relax and de-stress. Sometimes, we would take short hikes or visit PMC village, however, our favorite memories center around the tranquility of the cabin itself! We loved watching the birds, chipmunks and squirrels through the huge A-frame windows. And to sit in the adirondack chairs outside and listen to the trees russle in the breeze. The cabin itself is as comfortable as it is beautiful. A modern kitchen. Artwork throughout the home. Comfy bed. Internet. DVD's. A chest that is filled with games. A day pack. It's evident, by all the little touches, that the owner has put a lot of thought into making her guests feel at home. I honestly don’t know how she could have improved on anything. A lovely vacation. We hated to leave and look forward to returning!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

I surprised my wife on our 15th anniversary with a three night stay. She nearly cried when we walked in. Not only is it a real, honest to goodness log cabin, the custom finishing work is one-of-a-kind. We brought all our own food and the kitchen is great, so we had no reason (or motivation) to leave and were very comfortable hanging out there. We'll be back!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: I have had many guests surprise their loved ones. The stories are great! Glad you guys enjoyed the kitchen as much as we do. Pioneer log homes did do an amazing job on this cabin. Glad you enjoyed your time in Pine Mountain Club.

My husband and I wanted to spend a week relaxing in celebration of our 4th wedding anniversary. We chose this cabin because it looked so beautiful and was only 3 hours away. Plus we were able to bring our dog. It was wonderful. I can't wait to go back. The cabin is beautiful and comfortable and we enjoyed reading, watching movies, cooking, and hiking. What a great place!Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway.
