O'KELLEY'S FARMHOUSE IS AN EXCEPTIONAL LOCATION TO GATHER AND ENJOY THE COMPANY OF FAMILY & WONDROUS BEAUTY OF THE SMOKY MOUNTAINS. WE ARE LOCATED JUST AT THE FOOT OF MOUNT PISGAH & THE BLUE RIDGE PARKWAY. A SHORT 20 MINUTE DRIVE TO DOWNTOWN ASHEVILLE.
A memory making vacation is awaiting you nestled in the heart of the upper hominy valley where you will find an antique retreat at the O’Kelley farm house. Renovated in 2008, the farm house is over 100 years old. Situated on 16 acres, the home is adorned with memorabilia from the O’Kelley family along with interesting novelties and antique accents.
Our home is located just moments from the Blue Ridge Parkway and only 20 minutes from Downtown Asheville, where you can find just about anything to do that your heart desires. Or, you can simply enjoy the farm for its own unique charm. May we suggest passing your time by: rocking on the porch, sitting under the outdoor pavilion watching wildlife and listening to the nearby creeks, or just enjoying the magnificent view of Mount Pisgah. Walking trails are also located nearby.
To add to the unique charm of the home, we have updated the bedding, but kept the original iron beds and many other pieces of the history that have made this home so special. We have tried to renovate in a way that adds modern conveniences with old time charm. The home, complete with a large kitchen and a spacious dining room that will seat up to 10 people, is a perfect place for an old fashioned family gathering.

What a charming place to stay! We loved how quaint and homey the farmhouse felt. Everything we needed was there and the tree swing out front was a BIG hit! Got to enjoy sitting on the front porch rocking chairs and resting in peace. We also liked going up the winding road to the top of Mt. Pisgah and hiking the trails there. The views from on top were just beautiful!! It was a pretty little place and we enjoyed our stay there very much. Julie was very helpful and friendly too:)Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

If you are looking for something rustic with charm then this is it! We thoroughly enjoyed our girl's weekend at the farmhouse and found the loft to be perfect for our late night girl talk and laughing. Quick access to the Blue Ridge Parkway made for an easy leisurely drive. Owner was very friendly and attentive to our needs. Looking forward to our next stay!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway.

Such a neat place, exactly as advertised and more, kind of like staying in a museum and going back in time, so many things to look at. Really enjoyed the house and the property and relaxing after a day of exploring in the area. Practically everything you could think of is furnished, thank you for sharing this gem.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We just visited the Farmhouse and definitely enjoyed our stay. If you are looking for a unique place with character and all the comforts of home then this is a great place to stay. We are an outdoor, active, hiking family. We spend our days hiking and our evenings dining. We found the location to be within reason to everything as we ventured out to many areas (Pisgah Forrest, Grandfather Mountain, Craggy Gardens, etc.) and then went into Asheville each night to try the different eateries. If your looking for places within walking or a 5 minute drive, this isn't the location for you as Asheville and it's surrounding area will be a solid 20 minutes away. We drove it each night so its not that big of a deal. The farmhouse has fantastic decors with a lot of antiques; very unique including the creaky floors and beds to go with it. There was not a single thing missing from linens to small appliances. There's a grill and nice patio area in back if you want to relax and cook out. We ate breakfast out there several mornings and enjoyed the view of the mountains and the horses. The owner stopped by and chatted with us several times and made us feel right at home. Any small issues we had were taken care of very promptly. The wifi is a bit quirky but I eventually figured it out. That's about the only small negative we had. Great visit! If you bring the kids, make sure they enjoy the swing out front.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with young children.

Our family of 4, including a 3-year old and an infant, loved this farmhouse! The house and property were beautiful and very well maintained. Very spacious and well-equiped, truly a mix of old-fashioned charm and modern conveniences. We appreciated having linens and towels provided, as well as smaller touches such as dish soap and marshmallow-roasting sticks. We also felt that the rates were very reasonable, considering the comfort, cleanliness, and spaciousness of the property. We have now rented cabins in 4 different states for our recent summer vacations, and this was by far our favorite. Our preschooler loved sleeping in the loft. Every day, when we were out exploring Asheville and beyond, she would ask, "When are we going back to the farmhouse?" We also loved the outdoor space, grilling lots of yummy dinners and enjoying the view of Mt Pisgah and visiting with the horses. One day, we exited the Blue Ridge Parkway on Rt 151 and were pleasantly surprised at how close the farmhouse was. Very peaceful and quiet, yet also close to grocery stores, post office, and several great attractions. We especially loved Great Smoky Mountain National Park (but we recommend checking the weather forecast before heading out on any hikes -- oops), Splashville, the Botanical Gardens, and lunch at the Mt Pisgah Inn. We also enjoyed both the Asheville Brewing Company and the Tupelo Honey Cafe. Excellent meals! So, yes, we HIGHLY recommend this property and would happily stay there again if our travels take us back to the Asheville area. Thanks for helping to make our summer vacation fantastic!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

We were looking for a last minute get-away to relax, explore the area and to allow our children (ages 6 and 1) some freedom to run and play. We were so impressed with the farmhouse and our 6 year-old decided he wanted to live there! It was so clean, comfortable and beautifully maintained. We had such a great time exploring the house and the homestead. My husband and I own and manage rental properties on vrbo and we can appreciate the work that goes into maintaining such a lovely property to this degree. Our only disappointment was that our visit was too short. We went to the Biltmore Estate, which was a very nice, scenic drive from the farmhouse. Little did we know we would spend 9 hours there. Again, the kids did not want to leave. Our 6 year-old told us that it was the best mini-vacation in his life:-) The owners were wonderful! We had a nice chat with Dan on the day of our departure and we learned some history of the homestead, which has been in his family for over 100 years. Thank you so much! What a wonderful experience we had with this home. It was like going back to Grandma's and enjoying your childhood days again, but, with a lot more modern day conveniences. We were only 3 miles from the Hominy Valley Singing grounds, the reason for us coming to this area, so it was very convenient for us. Dan was a very nice gentleman and we enjoyed talking with him. Would reccommend this house 100%.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers.

We rented this house for a girl's weekend get away. We really enjoyed our stay here! The farm house was exactly like the photos. It was very clean and very charming. As an added bonus, we got to meet the owner and learned a little history about the house. Saturday morning we got to see deer in the field and the horses were always a welcoming site first thing in the morning as you can see them from the kitchen window. I wish I had that view at home!!! The farm house is a BEAUTIFUL PLACE and we will be staying there again soon!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

It is an excellent place to go for a vacation or getaway. The cabin was located near everything that you needed, When we got to the cabin it looked just like the pictures, we were very pleased with the feel of home that we experienced. It was very clean. I would recommend this cabin to all of our friends. We went to the Biltmore Estate which was close enough and the Grove Park Inn.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with young children.
